Feed your soul by joining us for Eucharistic Exposition after the 8:30am Mass

on the First Friday of the month, Oct 2nd. Nourish your soul by helping with “Feeding the Hungry” on the first Monday and Friday of each

month. Volunteers of any age or ability are welcome to participate in this ministry. We look

Encounter Jesus Please join us for an evening to

“Encounter Jesus” Monday, October 2nd from 7-9pm.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

will be held at 6:30pm on Thursdays in the St. James Room. All that are thinking of seeking full

participation in the Catholic Church or you just want to know more about the Church even if you are a

Catholic are invited on this journey to fully understand our faith. The course will be taught by Deacon Mike

Blome` and we will be using the U.S. Catholic Catechism for Adults for our reference. The next five

weeks we will continue examining The Creed: The Faith Professed.

St Philip’s annually Spaghetti Dinner Saturday Oct 7th at 6:00 pm sponsored by the K of C. Come join us for all you can eat Spaghetti, Italian Spinach, Salad, Bread, tea,

I would like to share with you a few facts taken from the back of the book “Forming Intentional Disciples”.

Only 30 percent of Americans who were raised Catholic are still practicing. Fully 10 percent of

all adults in America are ex-Catholics. The number of marriages celebrated in the Church decreased dramatically, by nearly 60 percent, between 1972 and 2010. Only 60 percent of Catholics believe in a personal God. All this information is alarming, but we are certainly

not without hope. The most attractive, compelling, and winsome aspect of the Catholic

Faith is still our Founder, Jesus Christ. Let us develop a relationship with Jesus through

prayer, encounter Him in the sacraments, and serve Him in others. “The wonder of prayer is

revealed beside the well where we come seeking water: there, Christ, comes to meet every human being. It is he who first seeks us and asks us for a drink. Jesus thirsts; his asking arises from the

depths of God’s desire for us. Whether we realize it or not, prayer is the encounter of God’s thirst with ours. God thirsts that we may thirst for him (CCC, 2569).” Jesus Christ seeks you, thirsts for you, and asks for you to give Him the drink of faith, hope, and love. I would like to

invite you to our bilingual Encounter Jesus event on Monday, October 2nd from 7:00pm to

9:00pm. As advertised, there will be Eucharistic Adoration, Praise and Worship, Reflections,

Confession, and more. Don’t miss it.
