What profoundly beautiful and comforting

Readings we are blessed with this weekend!

Isaiah gives us an image of God as a loving par-

ent, constantly aware of and close to us. Our

Psalm tells us to “rest in God alone” and “trust

God at all times”. And Matthew’s Gospel shows God to be

a Loving Creator, watching over birds and wildflowers with

such great care, and caring for us even more. So we are told

“Do not worry about your life…or tomorrow…for your

heavenly Father knows what you need…and all will be giv-

en to you.”

All of this is calling us to TRUST GOD COMPLETELY,

joining all Christians in faith in God’s nearness and love. If

we make His will and His kingdom our first priority we will

be better able to recognize and appreciate all of God’s gifts.

And then – as our Reading from Corinthians tells us– we

will be “servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of

God”… as we become His witnesses, encouraging all peo-

ple to TRUST in the mystery of God’s loving care. YOU ,

members of St. Peter’s Parish, are doing that very well these

¡Qué Lecturas tan profundamente hermosas y recon-

fortantes somos bendecidos con este fin de semana! Isaías

nos da una imagen de Dios como un padre amoroso, con-

stantemente consciente y cercano a nosotros. Nuestro Salmo

nos dice que "descansar en Dios solo" y "confiar en Dios en

todo momento". Y el Evangelio de Mateo muestra que Dios

es un Creador Amoroso, cuidando aves y flores silvestres

con tanto cuidado, y cuidándonos a nosotros aún más. Así

que nos dicen "No te preocupes por tu vida ... o mañana ...

porque tu Padre celestial sabe lo que necesitas ... y todo te

será dado".

Todo esto nos está llamando a CONFIAR EN DIOS COMPLETAMENTE, uniéndonos a todos los cristianos en fe en la cercanía y amor de Dios. Si hacemos Su voluntad y Su reino nuestra primera prioridad, seremos más capaces de reconocer y apreciar todos los dones de Dios. Y entonces -como nos dice nuestra Lectura de Corintios- seremos "siervos de Cristo y administradores de los misterios de Di-os" ... mientras nos convertimos en sus testigos, animando a todas las personas a confiar en el misterio del cuidado amo-roso de Dios. own. This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to assist 321 families, providing 24,727 pounds in food. Thank You!

Jesús nos dice que nuestro Padre celes-tial sabe todo lo que necesitamos, y por

eso tenemos que dejar que el mañana cuide de sí mismo, ya que el hoy tiene ya bastantes problemas. Este mes, a través de sus regalos, la Sociedad de San Vicente de Paúl pudo asistir a 321 familias, propor-cionando 24,727 libras de comida. ¡Gracias!

Rice Bowls Distributed March 5th

CRS Rice Bowl is Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten program for families and faith communities in the United States who want to put their faith into action. Through CRS Rice Bowl, participants are invited to hear stories about their brothers and sisters in need around the world, and devote their Lenten prayers, fasting and alms to change the lives of those who suffer in poverty. Partici-pants journey through the 40 days of Lent with a collec-tion of daily reflections and activities, including recipes, that are included in the CRS Rice Bowl calendar and on the mobile app.

Tazones de arroz distribuidos el 5 de Marzo

CRS, como se le conoce por su abreviación en ingles (Catholic Rice Bowl Relief Services), es un programa que se lleva a cabo entre las familias y comunidades de fe en los Estados Unidos entre aquellos que quieren poner su fe en acción. Mediante el programa del Tazón de Arroz, se invita a los participantes a escuchar las historias de sus hermanos y hermanas en necesidad alrededor del mundo y dedicar sus oraciones, ayunos, y ofrendas de Cuaresma, para cambiar las vidas de aquellos que sufren en su pobre-za. Los participantes hacen esos actos durante los 40 días de la Cuaresma con una colecta de reflexiones y activida-des, incluyendo las recetas que vienen en el calendario que viene con el material del Tazón de Arroz.

“WITH GREAT POWER “ Retreat for Teens

With great power comes great responsibility! We received the Holy Spirit through the grace of our baptism. During the retreat we will explore the personal experience of young people who open themselves to the action of the Holy Spirit. God can do incredible things with us if we are open to His action. Through Confirmation we receive greater access to the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

All youth age 12 years old through high school seniors are invited to participate in a special Net Ministries Youth Retreat on March 4th here at St. Peter. The retreat will run 9:30 am to 9:00 pm. The day includes meals, Mass, and the performance of St. Francis: Troubadour of God’s Peace. Participants are asked to pro-vide a donation to help cover the cost of the retreat team. Call the office to register!

"CON GRAN PODER" Retiro para los adolescentes ¡Con un gran poder viene una gran responsabilidad! Recibimos el Espíritu Santo por medio de la gracia de nuestro bautismo. Durante el retiro exploraremos la experiencia personal de los jóvenes que se abren a la ac-ción del Espíritu Santo. Dios puede hacer cosas increíbles con nosotros si estamos abiertos a Su acción. A través de la Confirmación recibimos un mayor acceso a los dones del Espíritu Santo. NET Ministries challenges young Catholics to love Christ and embrace the life of the Church. Net Ministry brings a team of youth leaders specializing in evan-

gelizing teens. The team of five men and five women coming to St. Peter’s have been trained in the teachings of the Catholic Church and formed as brothers and sisters in Christ, a quality young people consistently notice and to which they are attracted. They are offering the retreat theme: “With Great Power” for our youth.

NET ministra desafía a los jóvenes católicos a amar a Cristo y abrazar la vida de la Iglesia. Net Ministerio trae un equipo de líderes de jóvenes especializados en la evangelización de los adolescentes. El equipo de cinco hombres y cinco mujeres que vienen a San Pedro han sido entrenados en las enseñanzas de la Iglesia Católica y formados como hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, una gente de calidad que constantemente se percibe y a la que son atraídos. Están ofreciendo el tema del retiro: "Con Gran Poder" para nuestros jóvenes.
