Kóokay is a 100% Mexican enterprise that showcases it´s magical art crafts. We work with local people, mostly women, empowering and helping them to become an independent workforce to build up their communities. We pay a fair price and 20% of the profits of the accesories go to buy eyeglassesfor the community.

Kóokay is commited with the enviorment, so we recicle, reuse, remake and redesign old/vintage/modern/contemporary furniture for the making of beautiful, handmade pieces, so you will not find a machine made perfection in us.

All our pieces are created with different kind of embroideries: we have the famous “telar de cintura” or “backstrap weaving” which is used in the making of traditional Mayan textile weaving. We also have Otomí handmade embroidery. And some pieces are made with pedal loom.

Trabajamos con gente local,en su mayoría mujeres, empoderándolas y ayudándolas a seruna fuerza de trabajo independiente que ayude a construir suscomunidades. Kookay está comprometida con el medio ambiente por lo quereciclamos, reusasmos y rediseñamos muebles viejos/antiguos/vintage/contemporáneos para terminar siendo una hermosa pieza hecha a mano, por lo que aquí no encontrará la perfección de un mueble hecho por una máquina.

Alle unsere Stücke werden in verschiedenen Stickereien Arten hergestellt: Unter anderem mit dem berühmte "Telar de Cintura" oder "Hüftweben" bekannt, das zur Herstellung traditioneller Mayatextilien verwendet wird. Oder handgemachte Stickereien von den Otomí. Unter anderem werden auch einige Stücke mit dem Pedalwebstuhl hergestellt.
