Aquest és un espectacle íntegrament en anglès dirigit a reforçar l’aprenentatge de l’idioma.

L’obra està pensada perquè serveixi com a recordatori d’algunesmatèries treballades a l’aula o com una introducció a aquestes.

Tant el vocabulari com les estructures gramaticals emprades són repetides diverses vegades i en diferents moments de l’obra amb la intenció de que, juntament al component estrictament lúdic relacionat amb el fet teatral, l’assistència a l’espectacle pugui suposar un estímul concret en l’aprenentatge de l’idioma.

L’obra està dissenyada com un diàleg dinàmic i divertit, amb laparticipació del públic com a element essencial. El llenguatgeemprat per part dels personatges és acurat i àgil alhora que didàctic per tal de fer propers els continguts dins de l’obra.

S’utilitzen recursos de tota mena (argumentals, sonors, de vestuari i atrezzo, de text...), així com cançons i escenes en les que es farà participar al públic. D’acord amb els paràmetres artístics amb què es configura l’ideari creatiu de La Maquineta Produccions,aquesta obra explora recursos expressius provinents de diferentsàrees artístiques: interpretació, poesia, música i dansa.

Juntament amb aquest dossier podreu baixar-vos les cançons que apareixen a l’obra. És molt recomanable que els nens i nenes coneguin aquestes cançons abans de la representació per tal que gaudeixin molt més de l’espectacle.

Als apartats d’activitats (tant les destinades per “abans” com per “després” de veure l’obra) hi trobareu una sèrie de propostes per treballar els objectius didàctics de l’espectacle.

This story takes place in London, in 1860. It is a story about science, mysteries and crimes. Dr. Jekyll is a great scientist, he is always investigating new formulas to improve people’s life.

One day, in his laboratory he discovers a potion that allows to split people’s personality in two, one good and one bad. Dr. Jekyll drinks that new potion and he becomes Mr. Hyde, a deformed man who is capable to commit the most horrible crimes. Kate, Dr. Jekyll’s girlfriend, and his servant Anthony, are feeling that there is something strange in Henry Jekyll, but they don’t know what IT IS. He is always in his lab, he doesn’t eat, he doesn’t go outside... As time goes by, Hyde grows in power.

One day there is a crime in their neighbourhood. And the day after, another crime. Something mysterious is happening in the city. The police is investigating the case but they don’t have any clue to solve who is the murderer.

Finally, Dr. Jekyll is not able to control the two personalities and Mr. Hyde is dominating him. Dr. Jekyll is desperate and at the end he writes a letter explaining his problem, he destroys all his papers and he drinks all the potion that he has, and he dies. Dr. Jekyll has to choose between evil and good, between life and death. He fights with his two personalities and finally, he can’t handle it.

Dr. Henry Jekyll / Edward Hyde: He is a great scientist, he wants to save the world from disease and he is investigating a chemical potion, but his investigations leads to unexpected results and finally, he can’t control them.

Mark Deep: He is a friend of Dr. Henry Jekyll. He is a lawyer and he helps the police in their investigation, but he doesn’t know who the murderer is.

Kate: She is Dr. Jekyll’s girlfriend. She is an actress and she is very worried about the obsession of Henry with science.

Anthony: He is Dr. Jekyll’s servant, he works for him and he is always helping him, but now he is starting to notice something strange in his boss, and he decides to tell Kate about his worries.

Claire: She is the policewoman. Claire is a brave and decided woman and she is working a lot to solve this strange case.
