INTRODUCCIÓN

El objetivo del presente documento es ilustrar las expresiones básicas que

pueden ser necesarias para comunicarse en inglés, especialmente dirigidas al

trabajo policial. Al final del documento se halla un anexo en el que se adjunta

un enlace con información gratuita para profundizar en la materia si se desea.

Se pretende que se pueda adquirir un conocimiento inicial del idioma y

de su aplicación práctica.

Para ello, lo primero que se debe conocer respecto a la lengua inglesa, es

que existen tantas variaciones y acentos de este idioma como los hay del

castellano. Por tanto, es comprensible que se pueda entender a una persona (o

no) según su tipo de pronunciación. De hecho, es posible entender mejor a una

persona no nativa que hable inglés que a un propio nativo. En parte por que

utiliza un vocabulario más genérico, y en parte porque su pronunciación no será

tan cerrada.

No se debe olvidar que el objetivo del idioma es comunicarse. Es

preferible una pronunciación no muy precisa y cometer errores gramaticales

que permanecer bloqueado.

A continuación, se adjunta vocabulario y una serie de expresiones

sencillas que pudieran ser de utilidad en el entorno policial ante una situación

en inglés.
