El desarrollo industrial que nace en la segunda mitad del Siglo XIXha ido originando un aumento paulatino no solo en los ritmos deproducción, sino también en las cantidades de sustanciaspeligrosas producidas, almacenadas, transportadas y consumidas,siendo una de las consecuencias de todo ello un considerableincremento de accidentes con gran impacto tanto en personas,como en instalaciones y equipos, como sobre el medio ambiente.

Sólo como consecuencia de mezclas polvo-aire y de aire gasdurante el almacenamiento y manipulación de materialescombustibles tienen lugar cada año en la Unión Europea más de2.000 explosiones, y todo ello a pesar de la preocupación quesobre todo desde mediados del Siglo XX existe respecto a laadopción de medidas de prevención y protección con relación alas atmósferas explosivas.

El camino más importante para minimizar los percances es el dela normalización, siendo una de las medidas dentro de esta a niveleuropeo la obligatoriedad de que los aparatos eléctricos para usoen atmósferas potencialmente explosivas dispongan de unosmodos de protección contra las explosiones de acuerdo con unosdeterminados requisitos, cuyos niveles de requerimientos y deseguridad han de ser iguales para toda Europa.

The industrial development that is born in the second half of theXIXth century has been originating a gradual increase not only inthe paces of production, but also in the quantities of dangeroussubstances that were produced, stored, transported andconsumed, being one of the consequences of all this aconsiderable increase of accidents with great impact on people,facilities and equipment, as well as on the environment.

Only as consequence of powder-air and air-gas mixtures during thestorage and manipulation of combustible materials more than 2,000explosions take place every year in the European Union, and all thisin spite of the worry that especially from the middle of the XXthcentury exists with regard to the adoption of measurements ofprevention and protection with relation to explosive atmospheres.

The most important way to minimise the mishaps is that of theregulation, being one of the measurements to European level theobligation of the electrical devices for use in potentially explosiveatmospheres to have a few manners of protection againstexplosions according to certain requirements, which levels offulfilment and safety have to be equal for the whole Europe.

LA DIRECTIVA 94/9/CE (ATEX 100)

Para ello, la CE ha ido elaborando, desde 1975, "DirectivasEuropeas" sobre protección contra explosiones las cuales han idoevolucionando con el transcurso de los años y consecuencia deesta evolución ha sido la aparición de una Directiva dearmonización total, la 94/9/CE, cuyas disposiciones reemplazanno solo a las de las antiguas directivas, europeas dentro de laprotección contra explosiones, sino también a las de las distintaslegislaciones divergentes nacionales.

Esta directiva 94/9/CE, "Relativa a laaproximación de las legislaciones de losEstados miembros sobre los aparatos ysistemas de protección para uso enatmósferas potencialmente explosivas",también denominada ATEX 100 al estarbasada en el Artículo 100A del TratadoConstitutivo de la Comunidad Europea, estáfechada el 23.03.94 y se traspuso a lalegislación española por el RD 400/1996 el08.04.96. Una vez terminado su periodo detransición el 30 de junio de 2003, estasdisposiciones se aplicarán obligatoriamente acada producto que por primera vez es puestoen mercado, independientemente de la fechay el lugar de fabricación. La ATEX 100 regula el uso tanto de losproductos eléctricos como de los no eléctricos en entornos dondepueda existir peligro de explosión.

DIRECTIVE 94/9/EC (ATEX 100)

For that reason, the CE has been elaborating, from 1975,"European Directives" about protection against explosions whichhave been evolving within the course of the years. A consequenceof this evolution has been the appearance of a Directive of totalharmonisation, the Directive 94/9/CE, which regulations replacenot only those of the former European directives about protectionagainst explosions, but also those of the national regulations of thecountry members.

This Directive 94/9/CE, "Regarding theapproximation of the legislations of thecountry members about devices andprotection systems for use in potentiallyexplosive atmospheres", also called ATEX100 because is based on Article 100A ofTreaty Establishing the European Community,is dated 23.03.94 and it was included in theSpanish legislation by the royal decree RD400/1996 of 08.04.96. Once finished itstransition period on 30.06.2003, theseregulations will be obligatorily applied to everyproduct that is put on the market for the firsttime, whatever the date and place ofmanufacture are. The ATEX 100 Directive

regulates the use of both the electrical products and the notelectrical ones in environments where risk of explosion could exist.

LA NORMAS ARMONIZADAS

La Directiva 94/9/CE deja que sean las normas europeasarmonizadas las que se ocupen de la expresión técnica de susrequisitos, y para ello, el Comité Técnico T31 de CENELEC, y susdistintos subcomités, llevan muchos años trabajando en el campode las atmósferas potencialmente explosivas. La serie de normasque comprenden los requisitos generales y los tipos específicosde protección son las siguientes:

Esta serie de normas, en primera edición, están siendo revisadasy publicadas desde 1993 como segunda edición de las mismas,básicamente debido a cambios implementados a nivelinternacional por CEI (Comisión Electrotécnica Internacional).

Aunque actualmente son las normas EN 50xxx las que se utilizan,estás con el tiempo se iran sustituyendo por las CEI-60079-xx, porlo que en adelante se encontrarán las normas para atmósferaspotencialmente explosivas con las denominaciones EN-60079-xx.

Los fabricantes tienen la obligación de que cualquier producto,equipo o aparato que produzcan, cumplan con los requisitosgenerales y con uno o más de los tipos de protección indicados enlas normas.

HARMONIZED STANDARDS

Directive 94/9/CE delegates the technical expression of itsrequirements to the European harmonised standards. For thisreason, the Technical Committee T31 of CENELEC, and its severalsubcommittees, have been working for many years on the field ofthe potentially explosive atmospheres.The series of standards thatincludes the general requirements and the specific types ofprotection is the following one:

This is the first edition of this series of standards. From 1993 theyare being checked and published in a second edition, basicallydue to changes implemented worldwide by IEC (InternationalElectrotechnical Commission).

Although standards EN 50xx are currently being used, they will beprogressively substituted by standards IEC-600079-xx. Thereforefrom now on standards for potentially explosive atmospheres willbe found with the denomination EN-60079-xx.

It is compulsory for manufacturers that any product, equipment, ordevice manufactured by them complies with both the generalrequirements and at least one of the types of protection indicatedin the standard.

También existen dos normas CENELEC útiles para los usuarios.Una es la EN-60079-10 relativa a la clasificación de áreaspeligrosas debidas a gases y vapores inflamables y la otra es laEN-60079-14, que proporciona información para la selección y lainstalación de aparatos eléctricos en dichas áreas.

Furthermore, there are two CENELEC standards useful for theend users. One is the standard EN-60079-10 regarding theclassification of dangerous areas due to gases and flammablevapors. The other one is the standard EN-60079-14, whichprovides information for the selection and the installation ofelectrical equipment in the above mentioned areas.

CLASIFICACIÓN DE LAS ZONAS PELIGROSAS

En aquellos emplazamientos donde pueden aparecer atmósferasexplosivas el primer objetivo es analizar y clasificar para poderfacilitar la correcta selección e instalación de aparatos con losmodos de protección adecuados.

Una primera clasificación - GRUPOS - sería en función delambiente industrial:

GRUPO I. Minas y partes de sus instalaciones de superficie enlas que puede haber peligro de grisú y/ó polvo combustible.

GRUPO II. Lugares en los que puede haber peligro deformación de atmósferas explosivas (no incluidos en el Grupo I).

Una segunda clasificación - CLASES - sería por el estado de lasustancia combustible:

CLASE I. Son aquellos lugares en los que hay o puedehaber gases, vapores o nieblas en cantidad suficiente paraproducir atmósferas explosivas o inflamables. Se incluyenen esta clase los lugares en los que hay o puede haberlíquidos que produzcan vapores inflamables.

CLASE II. Son aquellos en los que el riesgo se debe a lapresencia de polvo combustible, excluyendo los explosivospropiamente dichos.

En tercer lugar - ZONAS - clasificaríamos según la frecuenciade aparición:

Zona 0. Esta clasificación normalmentese aplica al área interior de contenedores o aparatos.

CLASSIFICATION OF DANGEROUS AREAS

The CLASS I LOCATIONS, depending on the probability ofpresence of flammable environment, are classified into:

Zone 0. Zona 1. Es aquella en la que una atmósfera explosivaconsistente en una mezcla con el aire de sustanciasinflamables en forma de gas, vapor o niebla, se prevé quepueda estar presente de forma periódica u ocasional duranteel funcionamiento normal. Zona 2. Es aquella en la que una atmósfera explosivaconsistente en una mezcla con el aire de sustanciasinflamables en forma de gas, vapor o niebla, no se prevépueda estar presente en funcionamiento normal y si lo estáserá de forma poco frecuente o por periodos de tiempo muybreves. Esta clasificación se aplica normalmente a áreasque rodean las zonas 0 y 1.

A su vez, los emplazamientos de CLASE II se clasifican en:

Zona 20. Es aquella en la que una atmósfera explosivaconsistente en una mezcla con el aire de polvo combustibleestá presente de forma continua o durante largos periodos ofrecuentemente, y en la que se pueden formar depósitos depolvo combustible de espesor excesivo o incontrolable.Generalmente, esta clasificación se aplica al interior deequipos (molinos, secadores, mezcladoras, transportadoras,silos, etc.)

Zona 21. Es aquella en la que una atmósfera explosiva enforma de nube de polvo en el aire se prevé que pueda estarpresente de forma ocasional durante el funcionamientonormal. Esta clasificación se dá normalmente a áreas querodean equipos que contienen polvo, el cual podrálevantarse y generar peligrosos depósitos de polvo (enmolinos por ejemplo).

Zone 1. Zona 22. Es aquella en la que una atmósfera explosiva enforma de nube de polvo en el aire no se prevé que puedaestar presente de forma ocasional durante el funcionamientonormal, y si lo está, será solo por cortos periodos de tiempo.

Para realizar la clasificación por zonas de una planta es necesariorealizar un estudio detallado de todos los procesos industrialesque en ella tienen lugar. En el caso de gases, sería necesarioevaluar entre otros parámetros la probable presencia y duracióndel escape, la tasa de este, la concentración o la ventilación, conobjeto de poder tener una base adecuada para realizar laclasificación. En el caso de polvos algunos parámetros serían eltamaño de la partícula, humedad del polvo, temperatura mínimade ignición en nube y capa o su resistividad.

In order to make a zone classification of a plant it is necessary tocarry out a detailed study of the whole industrial process that takesplace in it. As far as gases are concerned, it would be necessaryto evaluate, among other parameters, the probable presence andduration of the leak, the gas rate, its concentration or theventilation, in order to make the classification on an adequatebasis. As for dust, some parameters to be considered would be thesize of the particle, dampness of the dust, minimum temperatureof ignition in cloud and layer or its resistivity.

REQUISITOS DE EQUIPOS E INSTALACIONES

Una vez realizada la clasificación zonal, es necesario que lainstalación se realice con equipos acordes a esta. Los equiposdestinados a lugares donde se pueden formar atmósferaspotencialmente explosivas deben cumplir unos requisitos, obteneruna certificación y ser marcados conforme a las disposicionesdictadas por la Directiva 94/9/CE (ATEX 100), lo cual permite unaclara indicación al usuario para su empleo seguro.

Para ello, y a fin de determinar el procedimiento adecuado deevaluación de la conformidad de sus productos o equipos, elfabricante debe decidir previamente, en base al uso previsto, aque grupo y categoría pertenece un producto.

A efectos de la Directiva ATEX, los aparatos se dividen, de lamisma forma que en las normas de material eléctrico paraatmósferas explosivas, dependiendo del estado de lasustancia combustible, en Clases:

CLASE I. La sustancia combustible se presenta en forma degas, vapor o niebla.

CLASE II. La sustancia combustible se presenta en forma depolvo combustible.

En función al ambiente industrial en que está prevista suinstalación, en dos Grupos:

GRUPO DE APARATOS I. Formado por aquellosdestinados a trabajos subterráneos en las minas y en laspartes de sus instalaciones de superficie, en las que sepueden presentar mezclas explosivas de gases y polvos.

REQUIREMENTS OF EQUIPMENTS AND FACILITIES

CLASS I. The combustible substance appears in the shapeof gas, vapor or mist.

CLASS II. The combustible substance appears in the shapeof combustible dust.

Considering the industrial environment in which the installationis foreseen, apparatus are divided into two Groups:

GROUP OF APPARATUS I. Consisting of those destined forunderground works in mines and in parts of their facilities onsurface, in which there may be present explosive mixtures ofgases and dust.

Los aparatos que están clasificados dentro de una clase detemperatura más elevada (por ejemplo T4), se pueden utilizarpara aplicaciones que requieran de una clase de temperatura masbaja (por ejemplo T3, T2 y T1).

Por la probabilidad de que los equipos o aparatos aporten unafuente de energía que desencadene la explosión, se clasificandiferentes Categorías.

Se establecen categorías de material en relación con las zonas deubicación de los aparatos y de los sistemas de protección o delnivel de seguridad, y al ir marcadas dichas categorías sobre losproductos permiten al usuario una clara indicación para su empleoseguro. Dependiendo del nivel de seguridad se establecen doscategorías para el Grupo I (M1 y M2) y tres categorías para elGrupo II (1, 2 y 3).

Categorías M1 y 1. Comprenden los aparatos diseñados de talmodo que puedan funcionar dentro de los parámetros operativosdeterminados por el fabricante y asegurar un nivel de protecciónmuy alto. Estos aparatos deben estar previstos para su uso enambientes en los que se produzcan de forma constante, duraderao frecuente, mezclas explosivas de gases, vapores, nieblas opolvos.

Los aparatos de categoría M1 están destinados a utilizarse deforma continua aún con la presencia de atmósferas explosivas,debiendo asegurar el nivel de protección aún en caso de averíainfrecuente, de tal modo que

En caso de fallo de uno de los medios de protección, almenos un segundo medio independiente asegure el nivel deprotección requerido.En caso de que se produzcan dos fallos independientes,esté asegurado el nivel de protección requerido.

El empleo de los aparatos de categoría 1 es en emplazamientosclasificados como Zonas 0 y 20.

The apparatus of category M1 are destined to be constantly in useeven in explosive atmospheres, and they must assure theprotection level even in case of infrequent breakdown, in such away that

in case of failure of one of the protection systems, at leastone second independent system assures the protection levelneeded.In case two independent failures take place, the protectionlevel needed is assured.

The employment of the equipment of category 1 is in locationsclassified as Zones 0 and 20.

Estándestinados a su utilización en ambientes en los que sea probablela presencia de una atmósfera explosiva, y aseguran el nivel deprotección requerido aún en el caso de avería frecuente.Los aparatos de categoría M2 son aquellos en los que, caso dedetectarse una atmósfera explosiva, deberá poder cortarse sualimentación energética.Los aparatos de categoría 2 se usarán emplazamientos Zonas 1y 21.

Categoría 3. Comprende los aparatos diseñados para poderfuncionar en las condiciones prácticas fijadas por el fabricante yasegurar un nivel normal de protección. Los aparatos de estacategoría están destinados a utilizarse en un ambiente en el quesea poco probable la formación de atmósferas explosivas. Losaparatos de esta categoría asegurarán el nivel de protecciónrequerido durante su funcionamiento normal. Esta categoría deaparatos está destinada a su empleo en Zonas 2 y 22.

En definitiva, cuanto mayor es la probabilidad de que se forme oesté presente una atmósfera potencialmente explosiva, mayoreshan de ser la exigencias de los equipos o aparatos que se van ainstalar.

MODOS DE PROTECCIÓN

Para reducir el riesgo del empleo de materiales eléctricos enatmósferas potencialmente explosivas a límites aceptables,pueden emplearse tres tipos de soluciones:

a) Reducir la energía o impedir su aporte en forma de arcos,chispas o calentamientos excesivos.

b) Separar la atmósfera explosiva de la fuente de energía.c) Confinar la eventual explosión controlando sus efectos.

De acuerdo con la solución - o soluciones - adoptadas para un tipoconcreto de equipo eléctrico, siempre que sea factible, diremosque tal equipo está dotado de un modo o modos de protección.

Se definen los modos de protección como "una serie de reglasconstructivas de los materiales y equipos eléctricos de forma talque puedan ser aptos para su empleo, con seguridad, en unaatmósfera explosiva".

En la tabla siguiente se recogen los modos de protecciónreconocidos o normalizados, representándose cada uno de ellospor una letra identificativa (inicial del modo en alguno de losidiomas, francés, inglés o alemán), así como las normasCENELEC, CEI o UNE-EN que las definen. También se indica enuna columna, qué sistema de los tres anteriormente mencionadoses el que se emplea en cada modo de protección.

TYPES OF PROTECTION

In order to reduce the risk of the employment of electrical materialsin potentially explosive atmospheres to acceptable limits, threetypes of solutions can be used:

a) To reduce the energy or to avoid its contribution in the shapeof arches, sparks or excessive warming.

b) To separate the explosive atmosphere from the source ofenergy.

c) To confine the possible explosion controlling its effects.

Depending on the solution - or solutions - adopted for a specifictype of electrical equipment, provided it is feasible, there aredefined several types of protection.

The types of protection are defined as 'a series of rules of thematerials and electrical equipment that make them suitable fortheir safe employment in an explosive atmosphere'.

The following chart shows the recognized or standardized types ofprotection, being represented each of them by an identificationletter (initial of the type in one language among French, English orGerman), as well as the CENELEC, IEC or EN standards thatdefine them. It is also indicated in a column what system betweenthe three ones previously mentioned is the one that is used inevery way of protection.

PROCEDIMIENTOS DE CERTIFICACIÓN

Para comercializar un aparato o equipo, ya no es suficiente conque este cumpla con una lista de normas armonizadas, sino quetiene que haber sido diseñado y construido siguiendo una serie derequisitos, obtener una certificación y ser marcados de acuerdocon las disposiciones de la Directiva 94/9/CE traspuesta a lalegislación española por el R.D. 400/1996, debiendo de ir provistode una Declaración de conformidad CE.

Para que el fabricante pueda mostrar cómo sus equipossatisfacen los distintos requisitos de seguridad, la Directiva ATEXestablece diferentes procedimientos y opciones dependiendo delas categorías y tipo de aparatos. En ciertos casos es obligatoriala actuación de un Organismo Notificado de la Unión Europea a lahora de verificar ciertos requisitos, ensayos, verificaciones yaseguramiento de la calidad.

Un Organismo Notificado es una Organización independiente alsuministro de los productos y que tiene la competencia técnica yestructura administrativa necesarias para evaluar la conformidadde productos y proveedores según los requerimientos de laDirectiva. En España, el Organismo Notificado es el LaboratorioOficial J.M. Madariaga.

Las diferentes opciones a seguir incluyen:

Certificado de Examen CE de tipo (Anexo III). Es elprocedimiento por el cual un Organismo Notificado compruebay certifica que un ejemplar representativo (tipo) de laproducción considerada cumple con los requisitos de ladirectiva que le son aplicables. Para ello, el solicitante pone adisposición del Organismo Notificado una o varias muestrasjunto con la documentación técnica adecuada para larealización de verificaciones y ensayos.

Control de la fabricación. De acuerdo con la categoría delproducto, el fabricante (o su representante legal), puede optara los diversos módulos de control de la producción que sedefinen a continuación.

Garantía de la calidad de la producción (Anexo IV).Describe el procedimiento por el cual el fabricante garantizay declara que los productos son conformes al tipo descritoen el certificado de Examen CE de tipo y satisface todos losrequisitos de la directiva que le aplican. Para ello, deberáaplicar un sistema aprobado de la calidad, de la inspecciónfinal del producto, así como las pruebas necesarias.Dicho sistema de calidad ha de ser evaluado por unOrganismo Notificado, recogiéndose esta en un informe dela inspección, y el cual efectuará auditorías periódicas deverificación. El fabricante marcará el número deidentificación del Organismo Notificado a continuación de lamarca CE en sus productos.

CERTIFICATION PROCEDURES

To commercialize a equipment, it is not sufficient that it complies alist of harmonized standards. It also must have been designed andmade following a series of requirements, hold a certification andbe marked according to Directive 94/9/CE.This Directive has beenincluded in the Spanish legislation by means of the Royal DecreeR.D. 400/1996 and states that the equipment must go providedwith an EC Declaration of Conformity.

In order that the manufacturer is able to demonstrate that theirequipment satisfies the safety requirements, the ATEX Directiveestablishes different procedures and options depending on thecategories and type of equipment. In certain cases it is compulsorythe performance of a Notified Body of the European Union to verifycertain requirements, tests, monitoring and quality insurance.

A Notified Body is an Organization independent of the productssupply that is the technical responsible and has the administrativestructure to evaluate the conformity of products and suppliers tothe requirements of the ATEX Directive. In Spain, the Notified Bodyis the Official Laboratory J.M. Madariaga.

The different options are as follows:

EC-Type Examination Certificate (Appendix III). It is theprocedure for which a Notified Body verifies and certifies that arepresentative sample (type) of the production meets therequirements of the directive that concerns it. The applicantmust submit to the Notified Body one or more samplestogether with the suitable technical documentation formonitoring and testing.

Control of the manufacturing process. According to the productcategory, the manufacturer (or its legal representative), canchoose between the following types of control of themanufacturing process:

Guarantee of the production quality (Appendix IV). It isthe procedure for which the manufacturer guarantees anddeclares that the products are similar to the type describedin the EC-Type Examination Certificate and meet all therequirements of the directive that concerns them. For it, themanufacturer will have to follow an approved quality systemand product final inspection, as well as the necessary tests.The above mentioned quality system has to be evaluated bya Notified Body , that will make an inspection report, and willcarry out periodic check audits. The manufacturer will markthe Notified Body identification number after the CE markingon its products.

Product verification (Appendix V). It describes theprocedure for which the manufacturer or legal representativeguarantees and declares that the equipment is of the type

con el tipo descrito en el Certificado de Examen CE de Tipoasí como con los requisitos que le aplican de la Directiva.Tanto las verificaciones como los ensayos sobre cada unode los aparatos los ha de efectuar un Organismo Notificado,el cual estampa sobre ellos su número de identificación yexpide un certificado de las pruebas realizadas.Conformidad con el tipo (Anexo VI). Procedimiento por elcual el fabricante o su representante legal declara que losaparatos son conformes con el tipo objeto del CertificadoExamen CE de tipo. El fabricante emitirá una Declaración deConformidad asegurando los medios de fabricaciónadecuados para tal fin, y marcará cada aparato con el númerode identificación del Organismo Notificado que ha supervisadolas pruebas a realizar a continuación del símbolo CE.Garantía de la calidad del producto (Anexo VII). Medianteeste procedimiento, el fabricante empleará un sistema decalidad aprobado, basado en la inspección final del producto;declarando que los aparatos son conformes con el ejemplarrepresentativo objeto del Certificado de Examen CE de tipo.Dicho sistema de calidad ha de ser evaluado por unOrganismo Notificado, recogiéndose esta en un informe dela inspección, y el cual efectuará auditorías periódicas deverificación. El fabricante marcará el número deidentificación del Organismo Notificado a continuación de lamarca CE en sus productos.

Control interno de la fabricación (Anexo VIII). Es elprocedimiento por el cual el fabricante o su representantegarantiza y declara que los aparatos cumplen con los requisitosaplicables de la directiva, para lo cual toma todas las medidasnecesarias para que el proceso de fabricación garantice laconformidad de los aparatos con dichos requisitos. Para elloelaborará una documentación técnica que permita evaluar laconformidad del aparato y comunicará este expediente a unOrganismo Notificado quién acusará recibo de dichoexpediente lo antes posible y lo conservará.Para la certificación de aparatos Grupo I, Categoría M1 yGrupo II, Categoría 1 el fabricante podrá optar por el Anexo IIIen combinación con el Anexo IV ó bien el Anexo V.En el caso de la certificación de aparatos Grupo I, CategoríaM2 y Grupo II, Categoría 2, podrá optar por el Anexo III juntocon el Anexo VI ó bien el Anexo VII.El Anexo VIII se seguirá por parte del fabricante en el caso dela certificación de aparatos del grupo II, Categoría 3.

PUESTA EN MERCADO

Los equipos certificados para usarse en atmósferas explosivas yprevistos para comercializarse en la Unión Europea, han demarcarse de la manera que se indica en la Directiva yadicionalmente en las normas de aplicación. Dicho marcadoconsistirá en el símbolo CE al que sigue, en algunos casos, elnúmero de identificación del Organismo Notificado involucrado enla etapa del aseguramiento del control de la producción o de laspruebas por unidad. Este símbolo CE no se dispondrá sinembargo en el marcado de los componentes.

The above mentioned qualitysystem has to be evaluated by a Notified Body , that will makean inspection report, and will carry out periodic check audits.The manufacturer will mark the Notified Body identificationnumber after the CE marking on its products.

Internal Control of the manufacturing process (Appendix VIII). Itis the procedure for which the manufacturer or its representativeguarantees and declares that the equipment meets therequirements of the Directive that concerns it, and for that ittakes all the necessary measurements so that themanufacturing process guarantees the conformity of the deviceswith the above mentioned requirements. For that themanufacturer will elaborate a technical documentation thatallows to evaluate the conformity of the equipment and it willsubmit this documentation to a Notified Body which willacknowledge receipt of it as soon as possible and will keep it.For the certification of Group I, Category M1 apparatus andGroup the II, Category 1 apparatus the manufacturer maychoose between either Appendix III in combination withAppendix IV or Appendix V.In case of the certification of Group I, Category M2 apparatus andGroup the II, Category 2 apparatus, it may choose between eitherAppendix III in combination with Appendix VI or Appendix VII.Appendix VIII will be followed by the manufacturer in case of thecertification of Group II, Category 3 apparatus.

PLACING ON MARKET

The equipment certified to be used in explosive atmospheres andforeseen to be commercialized in the European Union have to bemarked according to the Directive as well as the application rules.That marking shall consist of the symbol CE symbol followed by, insome cases, the Notified Body identification number involved in thestage of ensuring of the control of the production or of the unitarytests. However, the CE symbol shall not be used when markingcomponents.

También ha de incluirse la marca distintiva de material paraatmósferas explosivas seguida de las indicaciones de Grupo,Categoría e indicación relativa a gases (G) y/o polvo (D) (aparatosdel Grupo II), como se expone en el siguiente ejemplo:

Adicionalmente a este marcado según directiva, y de acuerdo conlas normas de aplicación correspondientes, se efectúa el marcadonormativo que establece el código específico de modo o modos deprotección, tal y como ya se utilizaba. Por ejemplo: EEx ia IIC T6.También se incorporan al marcado, al menos los siguientescampos: Nombre o marca comercial y dirección del fabricante,designación de la serie o el tipo, el número de serie si existe, elaño de fabricación, así como cualquier indicación indispensablepara una utilización segura del aparato.

Ejemplos concretos de marcado según directiva en el caso deproductos APLEI serían:

Además del marcado según ATEX, los aparatos y sistemas deprotección han de suministrarse acompañados de la Declaraciónde Conformidad CE, que es un documento emitido por elfabricante, o por su representante legal, por el que se afirma queun determinado aparato, sistema o componente, cumple todas lasprescripciones de la directiva o directivas aplicables.

También se adjuntará con cada unidad suministrada un Manualde Instrucciones tanto en la versión original como en el idioma delusuario el cual incluye al menos:

Instrucciones que permitan proceder sin riesgos a la puesta enservicio, a la utilización, al montaje y desmontaje, almantenimiento (reparación incluida), a la instalación y al ajuste.

Información relativa al marcado y a la facilitación delmantenimiento.

It has also to be included the distinctive mark of the equipment forexplosive atmospheres followed by the indications of Group,Category and indication referring to gases (G) and / or dust (D)(Group II apparatus). This may be seen in the following example:

Furthermore, according to the corresponding application rules, it iscarried out the marking that establishes the specific code of typeor types of protection, as it used to be done. For example: EEx iaIIC T6.

In addition, the following fields shall be marked as well: Name orcommercial mark and manufacturer address, the series or thetype, the reference if it exists, the year of manufacture, as well asany necessary indication for a safe utilization of the equipment.

Besides the marking according to ATEX, the equipment andprotection systems have to be supplied enclosing the EC-Declaration of Conformity, which is a document issued by themanufacturer, or by its legal representative, in which it states thata certain equipment, system or component fulfills all therequirements of the applicable directive or directives.

Also a Instruction Manual shall be attached to every unit suppliedboth in the original version and in the language of the user. Thismanual includes at least:

IInstructions that allow to proceed without risks to the putting inservice, to the utilization, to the assembly and disassembly, tothe maintenance (included repair), to the installation and to theadjustment.Information related to the marking and to facilitate the

maintenance.

Cuando proceda, indicación de las zonas peligrosas de aliviode presión, las instrucciones de formación, los detalles acercade la utilización en el lugar y en las condiciones previstas, losparámetros eléctricos y de presión, temperaturas máximas desuperficie y otros valores límite.Instrucciones, planos y esquemas útiles desde el punto de vistade la seguridad.

LA DIRECTIVA 1999/92/CE (ATEX 137)

El Artículo 100A del Tratado Constitutivo de la ComunidadEuropea pretende asegurar que los productos industriales puedanser marcados libremente mediante el establecimiento de una seriede requisitos esenciales que han de cumplir, y por ello lasDirectivas basadas en dicho artículo, entre ellas la 94/9/CE, estándirigidas a los fabricantes y diseñadores.

Por el contrario, el Artículo 137 tiene como propósito lograr unambiente de trabajo más seguro en lo que concierne a laprevención de determinados riesgos a los que se pueden verexpuestos los operarios en el lugar de trabajo, y en consecuenciasus Directivas tienen como primer objetivo definir una base comúnpara las condiciones de trabajo, estando dirigidas principalmente,una vez traspuestas a la legislación nacional, a los empresarios.

En el ámbito específico de las operaciones en atmósferaspotencialmente explosivas, como complemento a la ATEX 100existe otra directiva fechada el 28.01.00, la Directiva 1999/92/CE"Relativa a las disposiciones mínimas para la mejora de laprotección de la salud y la seguridad de los trabajadoresexpuestos a los riesgos derivados de atmósferas explosivas". Alestar basada en el Artículo 137, se le denomina ATEX 137 y setraspuso el 12.06.03 a la Legislación española mediante el RD681/2003. De esta Directiva, al contrario que en la ATEX 100,quedan excluidas las industrias extractivas, que tienen susdirectivas específicas, las 92/104/CEE y 92/91/CEE.

Los equipos y lugares de trabajo relacionados con áreas en lasque puedan formarse atmósferas explosivas, y que se utilicen porprimera vez después del 30 de junio de 2003, deberán cumplirobligatoriamente las disposiciones de esta Directiva; mientras queaquellos que ya se hayan utilizado antes del 30 de junio de 2003tienen un periodo transitorio de adaptación, debiendo cumplir lasdisposiciones mínimas tres años después de dicha fecha.

El distintivo principal que se puede considerar de la DirectivaATEX 137 es la de establecer que el empresario propietario de lainstalación es el responsable del mantenimiento seguro de lasinstalaciones, estando obligado a tomar medidas de caráctertécnico y/u organizativo en función del tipo de actividad, siguiendoun orden de prioridades y conforme a los principios básicossiguientes:

DIRECTIVE 1999/92/EC (ATEX 137)

Article 100A of the Constitutive Treaty of the European Communitytries to ensure that the industrial products may be freely marked bymeans of the establishment of a series of essential requirementsthat they have to fulfill. For that, the Directives based on the abovementioned article, including 94/9/EC, are addressed tomanufacturers and designers.

On the contrary, the purpose of Article 137 is to achieve a saferwork environment regarding prevention of certain risks to whichthe workpeople can be exposed in the workplace. Therefore itsDirectives have as the first aim to define a common base for workconditions, being addressed mainly, once included in the Spanishlegislation, to the businesspeople.

In the specific area of the operations in potentially explosiveatmospheres, as a complement to the ATEX 100 there is anotherDirective dated 28.01.00, Directive 1999/92/EC " Relating to theminimum conditions for the improvement of the protection of healthand safety of the workers exposed to the risks derived fromexplosive atmospheres". Since it is based on Article 137, it iscalled Atex 137. It was included in the Spanish legislation on12.06.03 by means of the RD 681/2003. This Directive, unlikeATEX 100, does not involves mining industry, that has its specificdirectives, which are 92/104/EEC and 92/91/EEC.

The equipment and workplaces related to areas in which explosiveatmospheres could be formed, and that are in use for the first timeafter June 30, 2003, shall have to fulfill obligatorily therequirements of this Board. On the other hand those that alreadyhave been in use before June 30, 2003 have a transitory period ofadjustment, although they must fulfill the minimum requirementsthree years after the above mentioned date.

The main hallmark of Directive ATEX 137 is establishing that thebusinessperson owner of the installation is the person in charge ofthe safe maintenance of the facilities, being obliged to taketechnical and / or organizational measures depending on the typeof activity, following an order of priorities and in conformity with thefollowing basic principles:

que se garantice la salud y seguridad de los trabajadores.

Para ello, el empresario deberá adoptar entre otras medidas:

Evaluar los riesgos de explosión.El entorno de trabajo sea tal que este se pueda realizar deforma segura.Clasificar en zonas, las áreas en las que pueden formarseatmósferas explosivas, garantizando en ellas la aplicación dedisposiciones mínimas establecidas y si procede laseñalización de accesos a estas áreas.

Cuando en un mismo lugar de trabajo se encuentren trabajadoresde varias empresas, cada empresario será responsable de todoslos asuntos que se encuentren bajo su control, aunque sinperjuicio de la responsabilidad individual de cada empresario; elempresario que tenga la responsabilidad de ese lugar de trabajocoordinará la aplicación de todas las medidas relativas a laseguridad y salud de los trabajadores.

La Directiva impone al empresario la obligación de elaborar ymantener actualizado un documento de protección contraexplosiones o una serie de documentos que satisfagan losrequisitos mínimos. Este documento incluye la identificación delos supuestos, la evaluación de los riesgos y la definición de lasmedidas mínimas a adoptar para garantizar la salud y seguridadde los trabajadores.

Con la finalidad de asegurar un trabajo sin riesgo para la salud,higiene, y seguridad de los trabajadores en instalaciones deatmósferas explosivas, los empresarios propietarios comomáximos responsables de estos emplazamientos deben hacerhincapié en la mentalización hacia la seguridad por parte delpersonal que trabaja en las instalaciones, poniendo para ello a sualcance los medios para la formación adecuada.

Por último, indicar que las directivas basadas en los artículos100A y 137 son aproximadamente una docena fijando cada unade ellas un número mayor o menor de requisitos esenciales deseguridad, siendo de vital importancia la obligación, tanto parafabricantes como para usuarios, la evaluación de los riesgos.

When there are workers from several companies in the sameworkplace, every businessperson shall be responsible for all thematters under their control, though without prejudice of theindividual responsibility of every businessperson. Thebusinessperson who is responsible for that workplace shallcoordinate the application of every measure relevant to theworkers safety and health.

The Directive imposes on the businessperson the obligation toelaborate and keep an updated document of protection againstexplosions or a series of documents that meet the minimumrequirements. This document includes the identification of thecases, the risks evaluation and the definition of the minimummeasures to be taken to guarantee the workers health and safety.

With the purpose of ensuring a work without risk for workershealth, hygiene, and safety in facilities of explosive atmospheres,the businesspeople owner and therefore maximum responsible forthese emplacements must emphasize the making aware of safetyon the staff that is employed at the facilities, facilitating the suitabletraining.

CARACTERISTICAS

Las cajas de la serie 3000 EExe son aptas para contener bornasdestinadas a sistemas de derivación, debiendo instalarse deacuerdo con las prescripciones indicadas en las nornas EN60079-14 y EN 50281-1-2.

FABRICACION. Caja y tapa están construidas en aleación dealuminio.

ACABADO. Recubrimiento en polvo epoxi poliester color gris(similar a RAL 7042) y acabado gofrado, efectuado medianteproyección electrostática y secado al horno a 180-200ºC.Previamente al acabado con objeto de obtener un perfectodesengrase y una ausencia total de suciedad y polvo, antes deproceder al pintado se realiza un pretratamiento consistente en undesengrasado tipo neutro seguido de una conversión al aluminiono crómica (no dañando el medio ambiente) y finalizando con unsecado a 80ºC.

Este tipo de tratamiento ofrece una buena estabilidad del colora la luz U.V. y térmica, otorgando a su vez importantespropiedades de protección a agentes químicos (por lo generalofrece una excelente resistencia a la mayoría de los ácidos,álcalis y aceites a temperatura ambiente), niebla salina oambientes húmedos.

CIERRE. Mediante tornillos tipo imperdible con cabeza embutida,lo que evita la pérdida involuntaria de estos. Se puedensuministrar indistintamente en acero inoxidable o en acero contratamiento anticorrosión D-1000, siendo este último elrecomendado por Aplei tras realizar ensayos en cámara de nieblasalina durante 1000 horas según norma ISO 9227:90 (equivalentea la norma UNE 112017:92). El recubrimiento anticorrosión D-1000 es un recubrimiento inorgánico no electrolítico de color grismetálico compuesto de láminas de zinc y de aluminio y óxidos decromo, protegiendo las piezas metálicas contra la corrosión conun mecanismo electróquímico: la protección catódica; elrevestimiento sufre un ataque preferencial protegiendo así elmetal base.

PLACA DE MONTAJE Y BORNAS. En el interior y sobre el fondo,la caja dispone de regruesos para fijación de la placa de montajemediante tornillos, sin que estos salgan al exterior. En dicha placairán montadas, siempre por APLEI, S.A., bornas activas o de tierracon certificado de componente basado en la Directiva 94/9/CE. Elnúmero máximo por sección es el indicado en las tablascorrespondientes en cada referencia de caja, aunque no obstante,y dependiendo de los distintos tamaños y formas según elfabricante de las bornas, en algunos casos este número podrá sermenor o incluso no será posible su montaje en la caja indicada enla tabla. La tensión máxima asignada corresponderá a la menor delas bornas activas utilizadas, hasta un máximo de 750V.

PUESTA A TIERRA. Las cajas disponen de una borna interior yotra exterior consistentes en tornillo de acero inoxidable con tuercadel mismo material, que permite la unión de un conductorequipotencial de masas de 35 mm2, estando garantizado elantiaflojamiento por una arandela partida de acero inoxidable.

ENTRADAS. Las cajas se suministrarán con las entradas para elmontaje de prensaestopas y accesorios realizadas por APLEI, S.A.,y se efectuarán siempre en los laterales de las cajas (nunca en elfondo ni en la tapa). El número máximo que se puede practicar encada lateral de la caja varía en función del tipo de entrada deacuerdo con los ensayos de tipo efectuados para la certificación delas envolventes, aunque a modo orientativo pueden considerarselos datos indicados en las tablas adjuntas a las característicasgenerales de cada caja. El roscado de las entradas se puedeefectuar según diferentes normas, siendo las más usuales la ISO261 para rosca métrica, y la DIN 40430 para la rosca Pg.

MOUNTING PLATE AND TERMINALS. The box has inside and atthe bottom thickness parts to fix the mounting plate on with screwswithout external drilling. Active or earth terminals will go mountedonto the mounting plate, always by APLEI, S.A.. These terminalshave certificate of component according to Directive 94/9/EC. Thecorrespondent charts of each box type indicate the maximumnumber of terminals by section. However, depending on the differentsizes and shapes of terminals from different manufacturers, in somecases this number will be lower or even it will be not possible itsassembling into the enclosure indicated by the correspondent chart.The terminal having the lowest voltage determines the highestvoltage permitted in the enclosure, up to a maximum of 750V.

GROUND CONNECTION. The enclosures have an externalconnection and an internal connection consisting of one screwwith nut each, both in stainless steel. It allows the joining of a massequipotential conductor of 35 mm2. The anti-loosening is ensuredby a stainless steel split washer.

ENTRIES. The boxes are supplied with entries for the assemblingof cable glands and fittings. These entries shall have been madeby APLEI, S.A., and they will have always been carried out in theboxes sides (never either in the bottom or in the cover). Themaximum allowed number of entries in each side depends on theentry type according to the test executed to certify the enclosure.The correspondent enclosed chart of each box may be taken intoconsideration as a reference. The entries may be carried outfollowing several standards, being the most usual the standardsISO 261 for metric thread.

TEMPERATURE CLASS: T6. Using standardised terminals andunder normal operating conditions the temperature reached in theexternal surface of the enclosure is always under 85ºC.

El resistente acabado en polvo epoxi poliester unido a la tornilleríade cierre utilizada, hacen que las cajas de la serie 3000 superen elensayo de 1000 horas en cámara de niebla salina neutra segúnISO 9227:90 (equivalente a la norma UNE 112017:92).

ESTANQUEIDAD. Se efectúa mediante una junta de neoprenoembutida en la tapa, obteniéndose un grado de protección IP-65según UNE 20324, CEI 529 y EN 60529.

FIJACION. Tipo mural por medio de patillas orientables quepermiten la colocación de la caja en cualquier posición.

PLACA DE MONTAJE Y BORNAS. En el interior y sobre el fondo,la caja dispone de regruesos para fijación de la placa de montajemediante tornillos, sin que estos salgan al exterior. En dicha placairán montadas, siempre por APLEI, S.A., bornas activas o de tierracon certificado de componente basado en la Directiva 94/9/CE. Elnúmero máximo por sección es el indicado en las tablascorrespondientes en cada referencia de caja, aunque no obstante,y dependiendo de los distintos tamaños y formas según elfabricante de las bornas, en algunos casos este número podrá sermenor o incluso no será posible su montaje en la caja indicada enla tabla. La tensión máxima asignada corresponderá a la menor delas bornas activas utilizadas, hasta un máximo de 750V.

PUESTA A TIERRA. Las cajas disponen de una borna interior yotra exterior consistentes en tornillo de acero inoxidable con tuercadel mismo material, que permite la unión de un conductorequipotencial de masas de 35 mm2, estando garantizado elantiaflojamiento por una arandela partida de acero inoxidable.

ENTRADAS. Las cajas se suministrarán con las entradas para elmontaje de prensaestopas y accesorios realizadas por APLEI, S.A.,y se efectuarán siempre en los laterales de las cajas (nunca en elfondo ni en la tapa). El número máximo que se puede practicar encada lateral de la caja varía en función del tipo de entrada deacuerdo con los ensayos de tipo efectuados para la certificación delas envolventes, aunque a modo orientativo pueden considerarselos datos indicados en las tablas adjuntas a las característicasgenerales de cada caja. El roscado de las entradas se puedeefectuar según diferentes normas, siendo las más usuales la ISO261 para rosca métrica, y la DIN 40430 para la rosca Pg.

ENTRIES. The boxes are supplied with entries for the assemblingof cable glands and fittings. These entries shall have been madeby APLEI, S.A., and they will have always been carried out in theboxes sides (never either in the bottom or in the cover). Themaximum allowed number of entries in each side depends on theentry type according to the test executed to certify the enclosure.The correspondent enclosed chart of each box may be taken intoconsideration as a reference. CARACTERISTICAS

Las cajas de la serie 3000-S EExe son aptas para contenerbornas destinadas a sistemas de derivación, debiendo instalarsede acuerdo con las prescripciones indicadas en las nornas EN60079-14 y EN 50281-1-2.

FABRICACION. Caja y tapa están construidas en aceroinoxidable en calidades AISI-304 ó AISI-316/316L con espesoresde 1'5 ó 2 mm. según tamaño.

ACABADO. Este material, por sus características no precisa deningún tipo de recubrimiento protector, siendo su acabadosatinado.

CIERRE. Mediante tornillos tipo imperdible en acero inoxidable,los cuales van provistos de una junta de nylon cuya finalidad estanto garantizar la estanqueidad como evitar la manipulación conuna herramienta que no sea la específica para su apriete. Elroscado del tornillo se realiza sobre un casquillo roscado, tambiénde acero inoxidable que está soldado en la caja.

ESTANQUEIDAD. Se efectúa mediante una junta de neoprenoinsertada en el borde de la caja, obteniéndose un grado deprotección IP-65 según UNE 20324, CEI 529 y EN 60529.

FIJACION. Tipo mural por medio de patillas soldadas al fondo dela caja con ranuras que permiten su fijación.

PLACA DE MONTAJE Y BORNAS. En el interior y sobre el fondo,la caja dispone de cuatro espárragos roscados para fijación de laplaca de montaje. En dicha placa irán montadas, siempre porAPLEI, S.A., bornas activas o de tierra con certificado decomponente basado en la Directiva 94/9/CE. El número máximopor sección es el indicado en las tablas correspondientes en cadareferencia de caja, aunque no obstante, y dependiendo de losdistintos tamaños y formas según el fabricante de las bornas, enalgunos casos este número podrá ser menor o incluso no seráposible su montaje en la caja indicada en la tabla. La tensiónmáxima asignada corresponderá a la menor de las bornas activasutilizadas, hasta un máximo de 750V.

CHARACTERISTICS

Series 3000-S boxes are suitable for containing terminals forjunction systems. They must be installed according to theinstructions of standards EN 60079-14 and EN 50281-1-2.

MATERIAL. Box and cover are manufactured in stainless steelquality AISI-304 or AISI-316/316L, with 1.5 or 2 mm. platethickness according to different sizes.

SURFACE FINISH. This material does not need any protectiontreatment due to its technical features. It has a satin finish.

CLOSURE. By means of stainless steel captive flush screws witha nylon washer, that ensures a perfect closure and avoidmanipulation with tools different to those specifically made totighten them. The screw is threaded on a stainless steel screwbase that is welded in the box.

ENTRADAS. Dado que el espesor de las paredes de las cajas nopermite la realización de roscas en los taladros que se efectúen,las entradas de cable que se usen serán de rosca cilíndrica y sumontaje se realizará utilizando una junta de goma y unacontratuerca para asegurar la estanqueidad.

No obstante, y en el caso de que se deseen colocar entradas decables con rosca cónica respetando el mínimo de cinco hilos derosca que exigen las normas, se podrán colocar para ello unosmanguitos con rosca exterior del mismo material de la caja que sesueldan a la pared de esta. El roscado de las entradas se puedeefectuar según diferentes normas, siendo las más usuales la ISO261 para rosca métrica, la norma ASA B.2.1 para rosca NPT, y laDIN 40430 para la rosca Pg.

Opcionalmente, y siempre sobre pedido, las cajas podránsuministrarse con laterales desmontables del mismo material yespesor que el resto de la caja, incluyendo una junta deestanqueidad del mismo material que la junta insertada en la tapala cual asegure el grado de protección especificado para la caja.

CLASE DE TEMPERATURA: T6. En condiciones defuncionamiento normal con las bornas homologadas, garantiza unlímite de temperatura superficial, no alcanzándose la temperaturade 85ºC en el exterior de la envolvente.

ENTRIES. Due to the thickness wall box, it is not allowed to makethreads on the drills. Cable entries to be used must be cylindricalmounted using a gum joint and a lock nut to guaranteewaterproofness.

However in case of cable entries with conic thread to be used andscoping with the minimum of five threads wires demanded bystandard, internal-threaded sleeves made of the same boxmaterial can be welded to the box wall. In that case the entries canbe threaded according to several standards, being the most usualISO 261 for metric thread, ASA B.2.1 for NPT thread and DIN40430 for Pg thread.

In addition, under purchase order, boxes can be supplied withremovable gland plates made of the same material and thicknessas that one of the boxes, including an insulating gasket similar tothat one embedded in the cover that ensures the box IP Degree ofProtection.

CHARACTERISTICS

Series 3000-H boxes are suitable for containing terminals forjunction systems. They must be installed according to theinstructions of standards EN 60079-14 and EN 50281-1-2.

MATERIAL. Box and cover are manufactured in stainless steelquality AISI-304 or AISI-316, with 1.5 or 2 mm. plate thicknessaccording to different sizes.

SURFACE FINISH. Coated with grey epoxi polyester powder(similar to 7042 RAL) with coarse texture, made by electrostaticprojection and dry into an oven to 180-200ºC. To obtain a perfectdegreasing and absolute absence of dirt and dust, a pre-treatmentconsisting of a neutral-type degreasing followed by a non-chromicconversion to aluminium (i.e. no damage to the environment),finished with a dry to 80ºC.


CLOSURE. By means of stainless steel captive flush screws witha nylon washer, that ensures a perfect closure and avoidmanipulation with tools different to those specifically made totighten them. The screw is threaded on a stainless steel screwbase that is welded in the box.

WATERTIGHTNESS. A neoprene gasket inserted in the box edgeprovides the box with a degree of protection of IP-65, according toUNE 20324, CEI 529 and EN 60529.

FIXING. Wall mounting by means of lugs welded to the bottom,with grooves that allow to fix the box.

MOUNTING PLATE AND TERMINALS. The box has inside and atthe bottom thickness parts to fix the mounting plate on with screwswithout external drilling. Active or earth terminals will go mounted on to the mounting plate, always by APLEI, S.A.. These terminalshave certificate of component according to Directive 94/9/EC. Thecorrespondent charts of each box type indicate the maximumnumber of terminals by section. However, depending on the

Las cajas de la serie 3000-H EExe son aptas para contenerbornas destinadas a sistemas de derivación, debiendo instalarsede acuerdo con las prescripciones indicadas en las nornas EN60079-14 y EN 50281-1-2.

FABRICACIÓN. Caja y tapa están construidas en chapa de hierrocon espesores de 1'5 ó 2 mm. según tamaño.


Este tipo de tratamiento ofrece una buena estabilidad del color ala luz U.V. y térmica, otorgando a su vez importantes propiedadesde protección a agentes químicos (por lo general ofrece unaexcelente resistencia a la mayoría de los ácidos, álcalis y aceitesa temperatura ambiente), niebla salina o ambientes húmedos.

CIERRE. Mediante tornillos tipo imperdible en acero inoxidable,los cuales van provistos de una junta de nylon cuya finalidad estanto garantizar la estanqueidad como evitar la manipulación conuna herramienta que no sea la específica para su apriete. Elroscado del tornillo se realiza sobre un casquillo roscado, tambiénde acero inoxidable que está soldado en la caja.

ESTANQUEIDAD. Se efectúa mediante una junta de neoprenoinsertada en el borde de la caja, obteniéndose un grado deprotección IP-65 según UNE 20324, CEI 529 y EN 60529.

FIJACIÓN. Tipo mural por medio de patillas soldadas al fondo dela caja con ranuras que permiten su fijación.

PLACA DE MONTAJE Y BORNAS. En el interior y sobre el fondo,la caja dispone de cuatro espárragos roscados para fijación de laplaca de montaje. En dicha placa irán montadas, siempre porAPLEI, S.A., bornas activas o de tierra con certificado decomponente basado en la Directiva 94/9/CE. El número máximopor sección es el indicado en las tablas correspondientes en cadareferencia de caja, aunque no obstante, y dependiendo de los

distintos tamaños y formas según el fabricante de las bornas, enalgunos casos este número podrá ser menor o incluso no seráposible su montaje en la caja indicada en la tabla. La tensiónmáxima asignada corresponderá a la menor de las bornas activasutilizadas, hasta un máximo de 750V.

PUESTA A TIERRA. Las cajas disponen de una borna interior yotra exterior consistentes en tornillo de acero inoxidable contuerca del mismo material, que permite la unión de un conductorequipotencial de masas de 35 mm2, estando garantizado elantiaflojamiento por una arandela partida de acero inoxidable.

ENTRADAS. Dado que el espesor de las paredes de las cajas nopermite la realización de roscas en los taladros que se efectúen,las entradas de cable que se usen serán de rosca cilíndrica y sumontaje se realizará utilizando una junta de goma y unacontratuerca para asegurar la estanqueidad.

No obstante, y en el caso de que se deseen colocar entradas decables con rosca cónica respetando el mínimo de cinco hilos derosca que exigen las normas, se podrán colocar para ello unosmanguitos con rosca exterior del mismo material de la caja que sesueldan a la pared de esta. El roscado de las entradas se puedeefectuar según diferentes normas, siendo las más usuales la ISO261 para rosca métrica, la norma ASA B.2.1 para rosca NPT, y laDIN 40430 para la rosca Pg.

Opcionalmente, y siempre sobre pedido, las cajas podránsuministrarse con laterales desmontables del mismo material yespesor que el resto de la caja, incluyendo una junta deestanqueidad del mismo material que la junta insertada en la tapala cual asegure el grado de protección especificado para la caja.

CLASE DE TEMPERATURA: T6. En condiciones defuncionamiento normal con las bornas homologadas, garantiza unlímite de temperatura superficial, no alcanzándose la temperaturade 85ºC en el exterior de la envolvente.

ENTRIES. Due to the thickness wall box, it is not allowed to makethreads on the drills. Cable entries to be used must be cylindricalmounted using a gum joint and a lock nut to guaranteewaterproofness.

However in case of cable entries with conic thread to be used andscoping with the minimum of five threads wires demanded bystandard, internal-threaded sleeves made of the same boxmaterial can be welded to the box wall. In that case the entries canbe threaded according to several standards, being the most usualISO 261 for metric thread, ASA B.2.1 for NPT thread and DIN40430 for Pg thread.

In addition, under purchase order, boxes can be supplied withremovable gland plates made of the same material and thicknessas that one of the boxes, including an insulating gasket similar tothat one embedded in the cover that ensures the box IP Degree ofProtection.

CARACTERISTICAS

FABRICACIÓN. Caja y tapa están construidas en aleación dealuminio, en acero inoxidable ó en chapa de acero, similar a lascajas de seguridad aumentada EExe de las series 3000, 3000-R,3000-S y 3000-H.

El resto de las características constructivas tales como tipo cierre,fijación, placa de montaje, etc,... son las mismas que las de lascajas equivalentes en seguridad aumentada.

Por lo que se refiere al tratamiento de las cajas y el lacado final,en el caso de las cajas de aluminio y chapa de hierro, es tambiensimilar al visto para seguridad aumentada, pero el color a utilizaren vez de gris es azul RAL 5010.

ESTANQUEIDAD. Se efectua mediante una junta elastomérica.

PUESTA A TIERRA. Las cajas disponen de una borna exteriorconsistente en tornillo de acero inoxidable con tuerca del mismomaterial, que permite la unión de un conductor equipotencial demasas de 35 mm2, estando garantizado el antiaflojamiento por unaarandela partida de acero inoxidable. Sobre pedido se puedensuministrar con borna interior de las mismas características.

ENTRADAS. El número de ellas que se puede practicar vienedado junto con las características generales de cada caja siendoen todos los casos igual al indicado en las cajas de seguridadaumentada EExe. El roscado de las entradas se efectua segúnnorma DIN 40430 para la rosca Pg., ASA B.2.1 para NPT e ISO261 para rosca métrica.

GRADO DE PROTECCIÓN. IP-65 (*) según normas CEI 529 ,UNE 20324 y CEI 144.

- Primera cifra (6). Indica protección total contra la penetraciónde polvo.

- Segúnda cifra (5). Indica que el agua lanzada desde cualquierdirección no deberá producir efectos perjudiciales.

BORNAS: Se utilizarán bornas certificadas puediendo emplearseestas con la misma disposición y tamaño que las equivalentes deseguridad aumentada, aunque teniendo en cuenta que en el casode la seguridad intrinseca no suelen certificarse bornas de más de16 mm2 de sección.

SISTEMA ELÉCTRICO. II 1/2 G EEx ia IIC T6. Por su gradode estanqueidad evita la entrada de polvo y fibras y garantiza un límite de temperatura superficial.

CLASE DE TEMPERATURA. T6. En condiciones defuncionamiento normal con las bornas homologadas, no sealcanza la temperatura límite de 85ªC ni en el interior ni en elexterior de la envolvente.

CHARACTERISTICS

MATERIAL. Box and cover manufactured in copper free aluminiumalloy, stainless steel or in sheet iron, same as increased safety EExe boxes 3000, 3000-R, 3000-S and 3000-H.

All other building characteristics such as screw lock, fastening,mounting plate, etc, same as its increases safety boxesequivalents.

Regarding to the aluminium and sheet iron boxes, treatment andfinal painting they are similars to what we have seen for increasedsafety boxes. Howeves the color change to blue RAL 5010.

DEGREE OF PROTECTION. By means of elastomeric gasket .

GROUND CONNECTION. External connection in boxes made ofstainless steel screw and nut for power conductor till 35 mm2,guaranteed by a stainless steel split washer. Internal connectioncan be provided with same characteristics by order.

CABLE ENTRIES. The number of cable inlets in each side varyaccording to boxes, characteristics and dimension. Same asindicated in increased safety EEx e boxes.The normalized threadsare Pg. (DIN 40430), NPT (ASA B.2.1) and Metric (ISO 261).

DEGREE OF PROTECTION. IP-65 to CEI 529 UNE 20324 andCEI 144.

-First number (6). Protection against dust (dusttigh).-Second number (5). Protection against water projected againstthe equipement (enclosure) from any direction. There must be noharmfull effect (water jet).

TERMINALS.They should be certified and be same as those usedfor increased safety boxes. Howevwe notice that terminals, forintrinsic security boxes, over 16 mm2can not be certified.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. II 1/2 G EEx ia IIC T6. For its degreeof protection prevents dust and fibres to get into and guarantees amaximum temperature at surface.

TEMPERATURE CLASS. T6. Using standardized terminals andunder normal operating conditions the reached temperature withinthe device is always below the ignition point at 85ºC.

CARACTERÍSTICAS

Las cajas de seguridad aumentada de las series 3000 puedensuministrarse además de con las bornas indicadas en losapartados anteriores, montando en ellas Descontactores EEx edIIC T6 de la serie DXN de Marechal. Estos pueden colocarseindistintamente en los laterales de las cajas o en la tapa de estas,conservándose el grado de estanqueidad.

Los descontactores DXN son tomas de corriente con undispositivo de interrupción integrado (artículo 2.8 de la normaUNE EN 60309-1) con intensidades nominales de 16 a 32amperios, donde los poderes de cierre y corte corresponden a lascategorías de utilización AC23 ó AC22 de la norma UNE EN60947-3, pudiendo alimentar:

- Cargas constituidas por motores u otras cargas fuertementeinductivas: categoría AC23.

- Cargas mixtas inductivas y resistivas: categoría AC22.

Otras características de la serie de descontactores DXN son:

CHARACTERISTICS

Series 3000 increased safety boxes can be supplied with Marechalseries DXN EEx ed IIC T6 discontactors. They can be placed onthe box sides as well as on the cover, maintaining the degree ofprotection.

DXN discontactors are socket outlets with an integrated switchingdevice (art. 2.8 of standard EN 60309-1) and a rated current from16A to 32A. The closing and breaking capacity belongs tocategories of use AC23 or AC22 of standard EN 600947-3. Thediscontactors can feed:

-Charges consisting of motors or other charges highlyinductive: category AC23.

-Mixed inductive and reactive charges: category AC22.

Other characteristics of series DXN discontactors are:

-Safety disc that makes inaccessible the pieces under voltage.

-Antistatic housing made of auto-extinguishing glassreinforced polyester.

CARACTERISTICAS

FABRICACIÓN. Caja y tapa están construidas en poliésterreforzado con fibra de vidrio según DIN16913 con grafito añadido.

ESTANQUEIDAD. Se efectúa mediante una junta de caucho desilicona que va embutida en la tapa.

CIERRE DE LA TAPA. Mediante tornillos de cabeza ranurada, deacero inoxidable M-4 o M-6 (según tipo).

FIJACION DE LA CAJA. Mediante tornillos taladros en el fondode la caja de M-4 ó M-6 (según tipo).

ENTRADAS. El número de ellas que se puede practicar vienedado junto con las características generales de cada caja. Elroscado de las entradas se efectúa según DIN 40430 para larosca Pg., e ISO 261 para rosca métrica.

CLASE DE TEMPERATURA. T6. En condiciones defuncionamiento normal con las bornas homologadas, no sealcanza la temperatura límite de 85º C ni en el interior ni en elexterior de la envolvente.

ACCESORIOS

PLACA DE MONTAJE. Las cajas pueden suministrarse conplacas de montaje aislante, o bien opcionalmente chapagalvanizada de 2 mm. de espesor.

PUESTA A TIERRA. Para la continuidad de tierra de las prensasse utilizarán las tuercas con p.a.t. serie 215.

PLETINA DE PUESTA A TIERRA. Fabricadas en latón de 10x5mm. provistas de grapas con lengüeta de cierre/bloqueo. Laspletinas se fijan a la base de las cajas, bien directamente en losinsertos de latón, o a unos pilares fijados a estos.

TORNILLO DE P.A.T. Pueden suministrarse en latón ó en aceroinoxidable, de M-6 ó de M-10.

PATILLAS DE FIJACION. Suministradas en juegos de 4 unidadescon tornillos de fijación.

CHARACTERISTICS

WATERTIGHTNESS. By means of a silicone gasket embedded inthe cover.

ENTRIES. The number of holes that can be made is indicated inthe General Characteristics of each box. The entries are threadedaccording to DIN 40430 for Pg thread and ISO 261 for metricthread.

TEMPERATURE CLASS. T6. Using standardised terminals andunder normal operating conditions the limit temperature of 85ºC isnot reached either inside or on the enclosure surface.

ACCESORIES

MOUNTING PLATE. Boxes can be supplied with either aninsulating mounting plate or a 2mm thick galvanised sheet iron.

GROUND CONNECTION. Nuts with ground series 215 will beused to ensure the earth continuity.

EARTH BAR. Manufactured in 10x5mm brass provided withclamps with locking lug. Bars are fastened on the bottom of theenclosure whether directly on the brass inserts or on pillars fittedon them.

GROUND CONNECTION BOLT. It can be supplied in either M-6or M-10, in brass or in stainless steel.

FASTENING LUGS. Supplied in sets of 4 units together with fixingbolts.

FABRICACIÓN. Los prensaestopas series 150, 160, 161, 162,250 y 260, están construidos en latón electropasivado, noobstante, y bajo pedido, también pueden fabricarse en aceroelectrogalvanizado, acero inoxidable y aluminio. El prensaestopa serie 254 está construido en nylón. Las juntas son elastoméricas, color negro, con una durezaaproximada comprendida entre 50 y 70 shore.

ROSCA. El roscado habitual se efectúa en NPT según normaASA B.2.1., y Métrica según ISO 261, con calidad media osuperior según ISO 965. Opcionalmente, y sobre pedido, sepueden suministrar con rosca GAS cónica según horma ISO 7/1 yPg. Según norma DIN 40430.Tanto en el caso de los prensaestopas como en los accesorios,estos se suministran sin contratuerca, a no ser que esta se soliciteespecíficamente.

ESTANQUEIDAD. Para el cumplimiento de los grados deprotección indicados según UNE 20324, DIN 40050 y EN 60529 ygarantizar el grado de protección con la envolvente sobre la quese instalan, las entradas de cable y accesorios con rosca cilíndricadeberán disponer de una junta de estanqueidad.

PUESTA A TIERRA. La continuidad eléctrica en los prensas, alser estos metálicos, se realiza suficientemente a través delroscado del prensaestopa a la caja.

MARCADO. En los prensas figura estampada el marcadorequerido por la Directiva ATEX, figurando referencia y rosca, asícomo el sistema eléctrico y grupo de aparatos para el que sonaptos, el número de certificado que lo ampara y la marcación CE.

ACCESORIOS EEx e y EEx d

FABRICACIÓN. Los tapones están construidos en latónelectropasivado, y las reducciones, ampliadores y niples en aceroelectrogalvanizado.

ROSCA. Existen las mismas opciones que en el caso de losprensaestopas, es decir, el roscado normal es NPT ó Métrica.existiendo la opción de fabricar sobre pedido con rosca GAScónica ó Pg.

MARCADO. Todos los accesorios homologados llevanestampada la referencia, sistema eléctrico y grupo de aparatos,así como número de certificado, aunque no llevarán la marcaciónCE, al no estar esta contemplada para accesorios.Como complemento a los prensaestopas y tapones, existen otrosfabricados que se detallan en las páginas 95 y 96, así como ennuestro Catálogo de Principales productos, como pueden ser:contratuercas, juntas tóricas, juntas de asiento, arandelas yarandelas con puesta a tierra.

CABLEGLANDS EEx e and EEx d CHARACTERISTICS

MATERIAL. Cable glands series 150, 160, 161, 162, 250 and 260are made of electropassived brass. Under order requirementsgalvanized steel and stainless steel can also be used.The 254 cable glands are made of nylon.The seals are elastomeric, black coloured, with an approximatehardness between 50 and 70 shores.

THREAD. The usual threading is made in NPT according tostandard ASA B.2.1. and Metric according to ISO 261 whethermedium or high quality according to ISO 965. Under orderrequirements conic GAS according to ISO 7/1 and Pg. accordingto DIN 40430 can be used.Cable glands and accesories are supplied without locknut, unlessspecifically expressed in the purchase order.

WATERTIGHNESS. In order to fulfil the degrees of protectionindicated in UNE 20324, DIN 40050 and EN 60529 and guaranteethe degree of protection with the enclosure on which they areinstalled, the cable entries and accessories that have cylindricalthread must have a bed joint.

GROUND CONNECTION. Since the cable glands aremanufactured in metal, the electrical continuity of the cable glandsis achieved by means of the threading.

MARKING. The marking required by the ATEX Directive isengraved on the cable glands, as well as the electric system, theapparatus group for what they are suitable, the certificate numberand the CE mark.

FITTINGS EEx e and EEx d

MATERIAL. Plugs are made of electropassived brass. Reducers,adapters and nipples are made of electrogalvanized steel.

THREAD. The available options are the same as for cable glands.

MARKING. Reference, electric system and group of apparatus areengraved on every standardized accessory. However the CE markis not engraved since it is not considered for accessories.As a complement for cable glands and plugs, there are otherproducts detailed in pages 95 and 96, as well as in our GeneralCatalogue such as lock nuts, o-rings, bed joints, washers andearth tags.

INTRUCCIONES DE MONTAJE MOUNTING INTRUCTIONS

El despiece de un prensa para cable armado de doble cierreaparece en la figura 1.

Para un montaje correcto del cable en el prensa, un punto muyimportante es la longitud que tiene la armadura una vez cortadala funda exterior. Las longitudes aconsejadas son las queaparecen en la tabla adjunta.

Una vez que se tiene el cable cortado y preparado, se procederásiguiendo estos pasos:

Se monta la pieza F sobre la caja o envolvente a utilizar.Se introduce el cable por las piezas A, B y el cono C, quedandoeste último sobre la armadura desenfundada.

Se introducen la pieza D y la junta tórica E en la zona de fundainterior del conductor.

Roscamos la pieza B sobre la F ajustando los conos C y D sobrela armadura, asegurándonos que efectuen una presión efectivasobre la misma.

Roscar la pieza A sobre la B, de forma que la junta asegure laestanqueidad sobre el cable.En la figura 2 aparece una vista general de todas las piezas en su lugar correspondiente antes del montaje final.En la figura 3 aparece el corte esquemático de la apariencia finaldel cable armado montado sobre un prensaestopas de doble cierre.

Normalmente, las armaduras en planta se montan en báculos, brazos ó soportesmetálicos fabricados en tubo normalizado. En las páginas siguientes presentamoslos ejemplos más habituales de este tipo de soportes fabricados por APLEI, S.A.

BRAZO SOBRE PARED WALL ARM

CARACTERISTICAS

El brazo esta fabricado en tubo sin soldadura de 2" según DIN2440 con las dimensiones indicadas en los dibujos adjunto,pudiendo suministrarse con dos longitudes distintas de brazosegún se utilice para luminaria de 20W o de 40W. El acabado, unavez mecanizado el brazo, es galvanizado por inmersión.

Los brazos de referencias BRA0020 y BRA0040 se suministrancon dos angulares de 150x60x60 y dos estribos de 2".

En el caso de las referencias BRP0020 y BRP0040, para lafijación del brazo a la pared, y aferrado a este mediante dosabrazaderas de 40x4 y Ø2", se incluye una placa de acerogalvanizado de 500x300x5 según detalles A y B adjuntos. Encada una de las esquinas de esta placa hay un taladro de Ø 14mm conteniendo un perno de anclaje de 150 mm. de longitud contuerca de M-14 y arandela.

En su parte vertical, los brazos incluyen un pivote topede Ø10x30mm. para evitar que resbale apoyando sobre laabrazadera o el estribo superior.

CHARACTERISTICS

The arm is manufactured in a 2" tube with no welding on itaccording to DIN 2440 with the dimensions indicated in theenclosed drawing. The staff can be provided in two differentlengths depending on it is used for an either 20W or 40W lighting.Once the arm is mechanised it is galvanized by immersion.

Reference BRA0020 and BRA0040 arms are supplied with two150x60x60 steel angles and two 2" bands.

In case of references BRP0020 and BRP0040, for the purpose offixing and grasping the arm to the wall, by means of two 40x4 andØ 2" clamps, a 500x300x5 galvanized steel plate is includedaccording to the details A and B enclosed below. In each platecorner there is a 14 mm. drill containing a 150 mm. anchor with aM-14 nut and washer.

At the arm vertical side, a Ø10x30 mm. pivot is included to avoidthe arm sliding when leaning on the clamp or on the superior band.

SERIE BS

BÁCULO SOBRE SUELO LAND SUPPORT

CARACTERISTICAS

El báculo esta fabricado en tubo sin soldadura de 2" según DIN2440 con las dimensiones indicadas en el dibujo adjunto,pudiendo suministrarse con dos longitudes distintas de brazosegún se utilice para luminaria de 20W o de 40W. El acabado, unavez mecanizado el báculo, es galvanizado por inmersión.

Soldada a la base del báculo va una placa de acero galvanizadode 350x350x10 mm con 4 cartelas también de acero galvanizadode 150x100x6. En cada una de las esquinas de la placa base hayun taladro de Ø 14 mm que contiene un perno de anclaje de 300mm de longitud con una tuerca M-12 y una arandela.

A 400 mm. de la base se incluye soldada una placa de acerogalvanizado de 150x150x4 la cual se puede suministraropcionalmente con una caja Rf. 3002-RB EExe mecanizadasegún se solicite.

En la parte inferior del báculo (a 800 mm. de su base),y en la parte superior (cercano a la curva), existen dos niplessoldados de Ø 3/4" con boquilla de neopreno para entrada ysalida de cable.

El báculo esta fabricado en tubo sin soldadura de 2" según DIN2440 con las dimensiones indicadas en el dibujo adjunto,pudiendo suministrarse con dos longitudes distintas de brazosegún se utilice para luminaria de 20W ó de 40W. El acabado, unavez mecanizado el báculo, es galvanizado por inmersión.

El báculo puede suministrarse con caja de conexión ó sin ella. Enel caso de que vaya con caja, a 400 mm. de la base se incluyesoldada una placa de acero galvanizado de 150x150x4 en la cualva colocada una caja Rf. 3002-RB EExe mecanizada según sesolicite.

En la parte superior del báculo (cercano a la curva), existe un niplesoldado de Ø 3/4" con boquilla de neopreno para entrada decable. Asimismo, cuando se suministra con caja, hay otro niplesimilar situado por encima de la placa soporte de la caja.

En la parte inferior, el báculo incluye un pivote tope deØ10x30mm.

Junto con este báculo se suministran dos abarcones de 2" deacero galvanizado con tuercas y arandelas.

RECOMENDACIONES DE ALMACENAMIENTO YMANTENIMIENTO PARA CAJAS DE DERIVACIÓN

El presente documento tiene como finalidad el dar una serie derecomendaciones para el almacenamiento y mantenimiento delas cajas de derivación fabricadas por APLEI, S.A., las cualesnormalmente contienen un número determinado de bornas en suinterior y suele ir mecanizadas con entradas en sus laterales.Dichas recomendaciones no tienen la consideración deinstrucciones, siendo únicamente sugerencias del fabricante quesecundan la experiencia y los criterios de mantenimiento yseguridad propios existentes en la instalación.

ALMACENAMIENTO

Las cajas disponen de entradas, protegidas bie con taponesmetálicos o bien con prensas, cuando lo solicita el cliente. Elalmacenamiento ha de realizarse en lugares cerrados, exentos dehumedad, y lejos de áreas con excesiva temperatura o luz. No esaconsejable que el almacenamiento se realice a la intemperie niaún en el caso de que se protejan las cajas con lona, plásticos osistemas similares.

Si el almacenamiento va a ser por largo tiempo, se aconsejaefectuar una revisión del material al año aproximadamente queconsiste en una inspección visual de los siguientes puntos:

1- Comprobación aspecto exterior (pintura y galvanizado).

2- Comprobar estado de elementos exteriores (ausencia detornillos de cierre y bulones de bisagras).

3- Comprobación de las juntas de estanqueidad.

Dicha revisión podrá hacerse posteriormente con la periodicidadque se estime conveniente, una vez observados los resultados alcabo del primer año.

MANTENIMIENTO

El mantenimiento de las cajas variará de manera ostensiblesegún la ubicación y las condiciones ambientales en que esténmontadas, así como de la experiencia y los criterios propios demantenimiento y seguridad existentes en la instalación. Estemantenimiento constará de dos partes bien definidas: inspecciónvisual y mantenimiento mecánico.

La inspección visual para la que en principio no se requiere unadesconexión del equipo, consistirá en los mismos puntos que losindicados en el apartado de mantenimiento.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO STORE AND MAINTAIN JUNCTIONBOXES

This document purpose is to give a series of recommendations tostore and maintain junction boxes manufactures by APLEI, S.A.which usually contains a determinated number of terminals insideand they are usually mechanized with entrances in their sides.These recommendations are not considered instructions; they areonly manufacturer´s suggestions.

STORAGE

Junction boxes have entrances which are protected with metalplugs or with cable-glands when the customer request it. Thestorage must be done in closed places, exempt of humidity and faraway from areas with excessive temperature or light. It is notadvisable to store outside even though the boxes are protectedwith sailcloths or plastic.

If the storage is going to last along time it is advisable to do arevision of the material by year which consist of a visual inpectionof the following points:

1- Checking the outward appearance (paint and galvanized).

2- Checking the conditions of the exterior elements (absence ofclosing screws and hinges).

3- Checking the waterproof gaskets.

This revision can be done later with the periodicity estimatedconvenient, with the results have been observed after the firstyear.

MAINTANANCE

The maintanance of the boxes will change very much according tothe location and the environmental conditions in which they areinstalled, and also the experience and the criterions of themaintance and security which exists in the intallation. Thismaintance will have two parts well defined: visual inspection andmechanical and maintain.

The visual inspection does not require the disconnection of theequipment.This inspection would consist in the same points whichhave been indicated in the paragraph of maintanance.

Por lo que se refiere al mantenimiento mecánico se requiere ladesconexión del equipo y consiste en:

Revisar estado de conservación de la pintura, dando retoquessi fuese necesario con una pintura de calidad similar.

Revisión de las juntas de estanqueidad. Estas juntas son elcomponente de las cajas sujeto al envejecimiento en mayormedida, y puesto que son las que otorgan la estanqueidad dela envolvente, es aconsejable su sustitución periódica.

Las juntas para otorgar estanqueidad, son sometidas cuandose cierra la caja a un estado de comprensión. Debido a estacompresión, la junta sufre un estado de deformaciónpermanente el cual varía dependiendo de las condicionesambientales.

En condiciones normales, y sin que la envolvente haya sidoabierta una vez instalada, las juntas mantienen el grado deprotección perfectamente durante ocho años (en el caso de IP-65) o cinco años (en el caso de IP-67). Una vez transcurridoeste tiempo se recomienda la sustitución de las mismas.

No obstante, si la envolvente se abre por cualquier motivoantes de estos periodos, es aconsejable también el cambio dela junta en ese momento.

Por último, caso de que se detecte existencia de grietas oroturas, es necesaria la sustitución.

Revisar ausencia de pletinas o bornes interiores y reponer sifuese necesario.

Engrasar tuercas, tornillos y componentes propensos deoxidarse.

Los elementos deteriorados han de sustituirse por recambiosoriginales de APLEI, S.A. o incluso si se estimase necesario,sustituir la caja completa.

The mechanical maintance requires the disconnection of theequipment and it consist of:

To revise the state of preservation of the paint, giving retouchesof paint or similar quality if it is needed.

Revision of the gaskets seal. These gaskets are thecomponents in which the boxes can age more easily andbecause this is what gives the boxes is waterproof surrounding,it is adviseable of its periodical replacement.

Gaskets are to submit to a status of comprenssion when theboxes are closed, to get the waterproof tightness. Because ofthis comprenssion the gasket suffers a permanent deformationwhich changes depending on the environmental conditions.

In normal conditions, if the surrounding has not been openedafter installation, the gaskets maintain perfectly the protectionduring 8 years (in IP-65 case) or 5 years (IP-67 case). Whenthis time is over it is recommended to change or substitutionreplacement.

Anyway if the surrounding has been opened because of anyreason before this period, it is recommended the replacementof the gasket.

In case of detected fissures, craks or breaking, it must bereplaced at that moment.

Checking the absent of bus bars or inside terminals and replaceas necessary.

Greasing the nuts, screws and components which are inclinedto oxidize.

The elements which are damaged have to be changed by originalspare parts of APLEI, S.A. or if necessary replace the entire box.

RECOMENDACIONES DE ALMACENAMIENTO YMANTENIMIENTO PARA PRENSAESTOPAS

El objeto del presente documento es dar una serie derecomendaciones para el almacenamiento y mantenimiento delos prensaestopas fabricados por APLEI, S.A., los cuales puedensuministrarse montados en cajas de derivación o por separado.

ALMACENAMIENTO

El almacenamiento cuando los prensas están montados en cajas,se realizará siguiendo las instrucciones dadas para las cajas dederivación anteriormente.

Cuando los prensa se suministran independientemente de lascajas de derivación, es aconsejable que el almacenamiento serealice en los embalajes originales, en almacenes cerrados yexentos de humedad, y lejos de zonas con excesiva temperaturao luz. Nunca el almacenamiento será a la intemperie ni aún en elcaso de que se proteja el material con lonas, plásticos o sistemassimilares.

Si el almacenamiento va a ser por largo tiempo se aconsejaefectuar una revisión del material aproximadamente al año delsuministro. Esta revisión consistirá fundamentalmente encomprobar el estado de las juntas de hermeticidad.

Dicha revisión podría hacerse posteriomente con la periodicidadque se estime conveniente, una vez observados los resultados alcabo del año.

MANTENIMIENTO

Dada la simplicidad de los prensaestopas como elementos, elmantenimiento de estos se limitará a la sustitución de las juntaselastoméricas cuando por algún motivo haya que manipular elprensa o bien cuando en una inspección visual se observe queéstas están claramente deterioradas.

La periodicidad del mantenimiento variará de manera ostensiblesegún la ubicación y las condiciones ambientales en que esténinstalados, aunque aconsejamos que en cualquier manipulación arealizar a partir de los tres años de su suministro, se sustituyanlas juntas por otras originales.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO STORE AND MAINTAIN CABLE-GLANDS

This document has a purpose to give a series ofrecommendations to store and maintain cable-glandsmanufactured by APLEI, S.A., which can be supplied assembledin the junction boxes or separated.

STORAGE

The storage, when the cable-glands are assembled in boxes, willbe done following the instructions which have been given beforewith the junction boxes.

When the cable-glands are supplied independently of the junctionboxes, it is advised that the storage be done in the originalpacking, in closed storage and exempt of humidity and far fromareas with excessive temperature or light.

The storage should never be outside, even though the material isprotected with sailcloth or plastics. If the storage is going to be forlong periods of time it is advisable to do a revision of the materialby year more or less, which consist mainly in checking thecondition of the airlight seals.

This revision can be done later with the periodicity estimatedconvenient, when the results have been observed after the firstyear.

MAINTANANCE

The maintanance of cable-glands consist in replacing the innergasket when because of some reason, after a visual inspection,they can become damaged.

The periodicity of the maintanance will change depending of thelocation and the environmental conditions where they areinstalled, although it is recommended that after a manipulationwhich has been done after 3 years of its supplied gasked must bechanged by an original.

CONDICIONES DE VENTA, SUMINISTRO Y COMPRA

- Las presentes condiciones de venta y suministro seránaplicables a todas las relaciones comerciales entre APLEI, S.A.(vendedor) y sus clientes (comprador).

- No se aceptarán pedidos por un importe inferior a 30 Euros.

- Sólo estos términos y condiciones regularán las relacionescontractuales entre las partes. Cualquier modificación de lasmismas deberá efectuarse por escrito y con previo acuerdoentre las partes.

- La información que figura en nuestros catálogos, folletos,página web, planos, tarifas, ofertas y en general, son siempre atítulo indicativo, por lo que APLEI, S.A. se reserva el derecho aintroducir cualquier modificación que considere oportuna pornecesidades de mercado o fabricación.

- La información técnica que se facilita al comprador espropiedad de APLEI, S.A. quedando prohibida su cesión aterceros sin autorización escrita. El comprador por su parte secompromete a tratar con confidencialidad la informaciónsuministrada por el vendedor.

- Sólamente se admitirán pedidos enviados por escrito (carta,fax, e-mail ó cualquier otro medio), pudiendo estos serunilateralmente anulados por parte de APLEI, S.A. si lascircunstancias así lo aconsejasen.

- Los pedidos de fabricados especiales para el cliente, y por lotanto fuera de catálogo, no podrán ser rescindidos por elcomprador una vez cursado el pedido de tal modo, que, en sucaso, todos los gastos derivados de la no realización de laoperación se imputarán al cliente.

- Los precios indicados en las tarifas se refieren a los productos,equipos o servicios claramente especificados en ella. Losprecios de las ofertas son válidos solamente para lo detalladoen ellas y considerando la totalidad de lo ofertado.

- Los precios indicados por el vendedor se entenderán EX -WORKS, salvo indicación expresa de otro Incoterm por partede Aplei, S.A.

- Los gastos producidos por modificaciones realizadas por ordendel comprador una vez efectuado el pedido, correrán porcuenta de éste.

- Los plazos de entrega dados para los pedidos son informativos,de manera que quedan sujetos a posibles cambios de fuerzamayor, o de imposibilidad en el acopio de materias primas,

GENERAL SALES, PURCHASES AND SUPPLY TERMS ANDCONDITIONS

- These general terms and conditions shall apply to all businesstransactions between APLEI, S.A. (supplier) and its customers.

- Purchase orders worth lower than 30 euros shall not beaccepted.

- Only these terms and conditions shall govern the contractualrelationship between the parties. Amendments and deviationsshall only be valid if agreed in writing between the parties.

- APLEI, S.A., considering marker or manufacturingcircumstances, shall modified as discretion the informationprovided with their catalogues, leaflets, websites, tariffs,drawings, etc.

- APLEI, S.A. is the sole owner of all technical documentsprovided. Customer shall them confidential. Property rights,copyrights and other rights of use shall remain with Aplei andonly shall cede these rights by special authorization in writing.

- APLEI, S.A. only shall consider written orders (fax, letters,email, etc…) and shall cancel orders considering specialcircumstances.

- Special orders, considering products not included in catalogues,shall not be cancelled by customers. On the contrary, anyexpenses incurred shall be imputed to customer.

- The price quoted in Aplei´s offers makes reference to theproducts, equipment or services clearly expressed. The pricewill be valid for items totally and clearly described.

- The price will be meant EXW (Ex works) unless APLEI, S.A.mention any other incoterm.

- Customer shall be entitled to ask for product´s modifications. Inthat case, the final price shall be fixed by APLEI, S.A.

- Information about delivery periods shall be non-binding. IfAPLEI, S.A. is prevented from supplying the goods due to forcemajeure, shortages of raw materials, transport disruptions, etc,

equipos o servicios externos, que pudieran darse, y enconsecuencia no se aceptará ningún tipo de penalidad porretraso en los plazos de entrega salvo que APLEI, S.A. loindique expresamente por escrito. Asimismo, no es causa dedemora en el pago el hecho de que la expedición del material,su montaje o su puesta en marcha se retrase por motivosajenos a la voluntad de APLEI, S.A.

- Los plazos de entrega comenzarán a contar a partir de larecepción por parte de APLEI, S.A. del pedido en firmeincluyendo, si procediese, la información técnica necesaria porparte del comprador para la fabricación. Caso de solicitarse porparte del comprador planos de fabricación para su aprobación,el plazo de entrega se establecerá a partir de la fecha en queAPLEI, S.A. reciba por escrito la conformidad de fabricación deacuerdo con dichos planos por parte del comprador.

- El plazo fijado se entiende para la mercancía puesta adisposición del comprador en las dependencias de APLEI, S.A.bien para su entrega ó bien para su inspección, según secontemple en el correspondiente pedido.

- La entrega de los productos por parte de APLEI, S.A. se dá porrealizada con el aviso al comprador de su disponibilidad enfábrica.

- Salvo indicación contraria dada por escrito por parte de APLEI,S.A., el envío de los pedidos se efectuará siempre a cargo delcomprador y por su cuenta y riesgo, aún cuando la mercancíaviajase a portes pagados.

- Toda la mercancía suministrada por APLEI, S.A. se consignaráen depósito hasta su completo pago.

- Con objeto de poder reclamar las pertinente responsabilidades,el comprador se compromete a comunicar a APLEI, S.A. en unplazo máximo de 48 horas cualquier anomalía o roturaproducida durante el transporte, así como a reflejar esta en elcorrespondiente talón de entrega de la agencia de transportes.

- APLEI, S.A. se compromete a subsanar los defectos en susproductos, equipos o servicios originados por fallo defabricación durante una año después del suministro de ellos,determinándose el sistema mediante común acuerdo con elcomprador y no aceptándose en ningún caso las reparacionesefectuadas por personas ajenas su organización.

- No se considerarán defectos los ocasionados comoconsecuencia del desgaste normal por su utilización; poralmacenamiento, uso o conservación inapropiados; pormontaje defectuoso por parte del comprador; ó pormodificaciones en los productos realizadas sin la expresaautorización de APLEI, S.A.

it shall not generate any charges. In these events damagesclaims by customer are excluded and delays shall not beconsidered as punishable.

- Delivery period shall commence on the date of APLEI´s firmorder receipt, including, if any, all necessary technicalinformation for manufacturing programs. If APLEI, S.A. ask forfurther clearances, manufacturing designs or any othertechnical requirements, delivery period shall be extended until full receipt of these documents and customer´s approval of therelevant designs.

- Unless otherwise expressed in the order, for place and deliveryperiod it shall consider APLEI´s facilities.

- APLEI, S.A. shall fulfill its obligation of delivery giving notice thatthe goods are ready for shipment at APLEI´s facilities.

- Unless in writing agreed goods shall be shipped at customer´sexpense and risk, even in case of prepaid deliveries.

- The goods shall remain the property of APLEI, S.A. untilcustomer has paid all due amount.

- In order to determine liabilities, customer shall notify to supplierwithin 48 hours any damage or lost during transport.Furthermore, customer shall ask the forwarding agent to submita report without delay.

- APLEI, S.A. shall remedy manufacturing defects detected withinone year after delivery. Customer shall give supplier areasonable deadline within which to remedy the defect or delivera replacement. APLEI, S.A. shall not be liable for damagescaused by repairs carried out beyond APLEI´s organization.

- APLEI´s liability shall cease in case of improper assembly,installation, storage repair, maintenance, servicing, and normalwear and tear. Also it shall cease in case of modification on thepart of customer or third party not expressly allowed by APLEI.

- La responsabilidad máxima de APLEI, S.A. por cualquierreclamación ocasionada por un pedido, tendrá como límitemáximo el precio del producto, equipo o servicio que originedicha reclamación, no asumiendo en ningún momentoresponsabilidades superiores ni el pago de indemnizacionespor cualquier otro daño o perjuicio directo ó indirecto apersonas o cosas.

- Para la solución de cualquier litigio, las partes se someterán alos Jueces y Tribunales de Sevilla, renunciando el comprador alfuero propio.

REQUISITOS PARA LA TRAMITACIÓN DE DEVOLUCIONES

- Antes de proceder a ningún tipo de devolución, esimprescindible poner en conocimiento de APLEI, S.A. laintención de efectuarla para comprobar que ésta esprocedente.

- En el caso de que se considere procedente, la aceptacióndefinitiva estará en función de los controles de verificacióncorrespondientes que ha de pasar el material devuelto porparte del Departamento de Calidad.

- Con el fín de mantener las óptimas condiciones decomercialización de nuestros productos, a los materiales quesean objeto de devolución se les aplicará un demérito del 15%.

- No se aceptarán de ninguna manera, la devolución deproductos no normalizados fuera de catálogo y/o tarifa deprecios que hayan sido expresamente fabricados bajo unaoferta u orden de compra determinada, ni de productos que yahayan sido objeto de manipulación o de instalación.

- El material devuelto deberá ir acompañado de una fotocopia delalbarán original de envío para su correcta identificación.

- El tiempo para notificar la devolución no deberá ser superior a15 días desde la recepción del material por parte del cliente, óde 30 días desde el envío por parte de APLEI, S.A. Encualquier caso, no se admitirán devoluciones de materialessuministrados en un periodo superior a seis meses.

- El material devuelto por parte del cliente deberá ser enviado aportes pagados, mientras que en las devoluciones que sean acargo de APLEI, S.A., será esta quién indique la agencia detransportes a utilizar. El incumplimiento de esta norma exime aAPLEI, S.A. del coste del transporte.

- En los casos de devolución de material, las facturas de abonogeneradas se compensaran con pedidos de materialesefectuados por el mismo cliente.

- Aplei´s maximum liability related to an order shall be the totalprice of the order, not being included additional costs such acompensations, indemnities or damages.

- Any and all disputes between APLEI, S.A. and customer shallbe settled by the Courts of Sevilla, Spain, giving up thecustomer their own jurisdiction.

RETURN PROCEDURE

- Customer must inform Aplei S.A. in writing (without unduedelay) the proposal of return and supplier shall decide if it isjustified.

- Aplei´s Quality Department shall be entitled to practice anyverifications. This Department shall decide to initiate theprocedure or not.

- Returned goods, in order to maintain its commercial conditions,shall bear a price deduction of 15 %.

- In case of goods manufactured on special request, goodspreviously installed or manipulated by customer, return shall notbe allowed.

- Customer shall send along with goods photocopy of the relevantdelivery in order to facilitate a correct identification.

- Customer shall notify the proposal of return within 15 days afterreception or 30 days after supplier´s delivery. Anyway, after 6months from delivery supplier shall not accept any return.

- Returned goods shall be shipped at customer´s expense. IfAplei is responsible for delivery, it shall be entitled to determinethe forwarding agent, on the contrary it shall not be responsiblefor customer´s choice.

CAMBIO DE ROSCA PG. A MÉTRICA

- La actual normativa europea aconseja desde hace más de 3años el cambio gradual en el uso de la rosca Pg. en lasinstalaciones eléctricas a la rosca Métrica, llevando a cabo unprograma de actuación por parte de los fabricantes quepermitiera un paso lo menos traumático posible a todas laspartes implicadas.

- En Aplei hoy día ya no disponemos de almacén o fabricaciónde productos con rosca Pg ,de manera, que toda la gama denuestros productos esta fabricados roscas métricas teniendostock suficientes para atender las demandas de nuestrosclientes.

- Con el fin de resolver situaciones donde por necesidad expresadel cliente nos fuera demandado alguno de nuestros fabricadoscon roscas Pg, Aplei podría proceder a su fabricación previopresupuesto y con carácter especial.

ESTUDIO COMPARATIVO DE MATERIALES UTILIZADOS ENLA FABRICACIÓN DE ENVOLVENTES ELÉCTRICOSINDUSTRIALES

APLEI, S.A. con el fin de colaborar con los usuarios e instaladoresde envolventes eléctricos, ha realizado un estudio comparativo delos materiales más utilizados en el mercado para la fabricación delos mismos.

CHANGE FROM PG TO METRIC THREAD

- The current European regulation recommended more than 3years ago the gradual change in the electrical facilities from theuse of the Pg thread to the Metric thread, carrying out aprogram of performance for manufacturers to make thetransformation easier for the involved parties.
