Ni yo mismo me explico, pero se me concedió lo que más deseaba,hacer una entrevista a Cristo Jesús precisamente el que había muertoen la cruz pero que fue levantado por el poder del Buen Padre Dios.La entrevista fue en un salón muy espacioso, donde fui introducidopor algunos ángeles la mar de atentos. Había un amplio ventanal,desde el que podía contemplar el vasto universo con sus astros, susestrellas, sus meteoros y sus cometas, un espectáculo admirable, perolo que más me sorprendía era contemplar a mi querido planeta tierra,en el centro, como si verdaderamente al planeta azul fuera el centrodel universo. Puntualmente acudió el Señor, con una entradamajestuosa y sencilla al mismo tiempo. Contemplarle, mirarle defrente a frente, me dejó sin palabra, y todas las preguntas que teníaen mente, se me borraron, e incluso el saludo no me salía de migarganta, no sabía cómo llamarlo, si Señor, o Dios, o mi Salvador…Él adivinó mi estado y me pidió que lo llamara sencillamente Jesús.Mirándolo un poco más de cerca, era admirable. No me cabía queestuviera yo ahí, ante aquél que había dejado de latir en la cruz, quehabía sido muerto, acribillado, condenado injustamente a morir enuna cruz. Lo que más me admiraba, era sentir tan cerca los latidos desu corazón. Un corazón admirable, que estuvo muerto por tres días,y que ahora como el corazón del joven más robusto, estaba latiendo,con latidos de amor y de vida. Motivado por su sencillez y su bondad,me atreví a lanzar una única pregunta que me demostró su existenciasin dudas:Estamos concientes de que el momento de la Resurrección fue taníntimo, tan sobrecogedor, que ningún mortal hubiera podido estarahí y contarlo más delante, ¿pero porqué fue escogida una mujerpara ser la primera en contemplarte ya radiante, luminoso yresucitado?. “¿Recuerdas, comenzó Jesús, que el pecado comenzópor la desobediencia de una mujer? Pues ahora era necesario queuna mujer fuera encargada de decirle a los hombres que había llegadola hora del triunfo del amor sobre el pecado, la oscuridad y la muerteque con ese sólo hecho quedó vencida para siempre. Ahora muchosme quieren endilgar a la Magdalena como la madre de varios hijos,pero fueron los mismos que se burlaban de todas mis acciones, losque me llamaron borracho y loco, los mismos que me observabancon lupa y nunca pudieron encontrar en mí nada de qué acusarme, ylo más que pudieron hacer fue presentar mi pretensión de hacermeHijo de Dios, aunque mis hechos, mis palabras, los signos con losque yo mostraba mi filiación no fueran reconocidos por ellos, hastaque se salieron con la suya, aunque los planes de mi Padre eran otros.Cuando supieron de mi resurrección, si antes estaban enfurecidosentonces se volvieron como perros rabiosos... Y eso se siente hoycuando mis seguidores, se atreven a hablar en favor de la vida, delos inocentes en el seno de la mujer, los que se atreven a hablar afavor de los pobres y los desheredados. Siempre serán perseguidos.Te diré que cuando Magdalena y las otras mujeres se dieron cuentade que la tumba estaba vacía y los lienzos y el sudario estaban intactosen el interior, fue muy lógico que fueran a llevarle la noticia a losapóstoles, sobre todo a Pedro, que desde antes de mi partida le habíaencomendado que cuidara de los míos. Me andaban buscando en laoscuridad y en la tumba, sin saber que yo ya estaba Vivo y vivo parasiempre. Los hombres ya no pueden alegar ignorancia, porque estoyen el mundo, en la Eucaristía, en mi Iglesia, y sobre todo en los pobres,en los ignorantes y en los maltratados por la vida, por los hombres ypor la cultura de muerte por el supuesto progreso y el fenómeno dela globalización, ante el cuál, si mis cristianos y los hombres en gen-eral no despiertan, seguirá haciendo más ricos a unos cuántos y máspobres a una multitud inmensa de hombres y de naciones”.

Background: Most of the Gospels during Easter time are taken from St. John,a literary genius if the world has ever known one. Father JohnShea has suggested that John's Gospel may be the greatest bookever written. Its author has an astonishing ability to take a per-haps dim memory of an incident which happened in the life ofJesus, retell it with vivid and life-like detail, and then wrap thestory in deep and mystical symbolism which makes it a story forall times. Thus in today's story we can see the younger disciple outrunningPeter and then waiting respectfully for him. We can understandthe chauvinist skepticism of the apostles, we can imagine the grow-ing excitement among the followers of Jesus, their sense that some-thing was happening, something astonishing, indeed beyond be-lief. And we are impressed, though we hardly notice it consciouslyby the act that the burial robes of Jesus have been put aside andneatly folded. Not only do we have life triumphant, we have theextraordinary occurring in orderly fashion. Fr. Greeley's Last Book:Story:Once upon a time there was a little boy by the name of Brendan.Brendan loved all kinds of stories but he especially liked thechildren’s versions of Biblical stories. He would tell visitors aboutthe deeds of the Old Testament leaders, sometimes mixing up hisfacts a bit. He was fairly accurate when telling the story of Christ-mas and the childhood of Jesus. His favorite stories were themiracle stories and some of the parables. He definitely did notlike the Holy Week stories. He didn’t like it when anyone wouldread the stories of Jesus’ passion and death. He would never re-peat them, claiming he didn’t remember them. One day his mother asked Brendan why he didn’t try to remem-ber them. Brendan said it was very sad that people would putJesus on a cross when he had been so good. He said he didn’t likethe cross, that it was a terrible thing. He didn’t like to think aboutthe cross. He didn’t even like to look at it. And he would neverwant to have one in his room or his house. His mother thoughtand thought about how she might address Brendan’s anxiety aboutthe cross. Finally she explained to Brendan that sometimes thingsseemed really, really bad, like that people would put Jesus on across. But the cross is also a sign of how much Jesus loved all ofus and the cross isn’t the end of the story. If it were it would be agreat tragedy. That is why we never tell the story of the crosswithout also telling the story of Easter where we learn that good-ness wins over all the evil things people might do. We need theend of the story for it to make any sense. That Easter Brendan’smother found him telling his younger siblings and his cousins hisversion of the Holy Week/Easter tale. Palm Sunday, he said was abig parade. Then later in the week Jesus and his disciples had a big party butsome of the folks at the party didn’t act right and let some badoutsiders take Jesus away. Jesus was real brave because he lovedeveryone and knew that if you loved people you could never re-ally be hurt, except for a short time. And Jesus proved that was soby not staying dead for very long. Now we know that we don’thave to be afraid of bad things.

«In the early Church there was a custom whereby the Bishop or the priest, after the homily, would cry outto the faithful: “Conversi ad Dominum” – turn now towards the Lord. Intercessions for LifeI was watching a show about seals. It was a very well doneshow that followed a group of scientists on the West Coastwho were doing a study on a particular group of seals.During their work they discovered that one of the sealswas badly injured, and when they examined her moreclosely, they realized that she was also pregnant, and notonly was she pregnant, but she was very far along in herpregnancy, so far along that the scientists were almost cer-tain that the baby seals would be able to survive outsidetheir mother’s womb, but after further tests they all agreedthat there was no way to save the life of the mother, andthat if she were to die, her babies would die with her. Sothey did an emergency operation and saved the lives of allthe baby seals. None of the scientists questioned what themother seal’s “choice” was, they didn’t ask if the unbornbaby seals had a “right” to live. No, they just used theircommon sense and did the right thing.
