    Module 1: Introduction to GIS (ESRI or Open Source Software) One sessionParticipants

    - Understand the different parts of Software- Can open software on their computers- Manage to open vector files and change their appearance- Can load and enable plugins- Have the general understanding of ESRI and other commercial platforms

    Module 2: Data formats One sessionParticipants

    - Understand the vector data formats (shape files)- Understand the raster formats (resolution, header, file size related to resolution)- Advantages and disadvantages of vector and raster data

    Module 3: Data Source One sessionParticipants

    - Are able to find GIS data on internet- Basic steps for data standardization and cleaning- Understand meta data

    Module 4: Coordinate system and Projection system One sessionParticipants

    - Understand different coordinate system- Understand when to work with projected data

    - Are able to handle projection problems

    Module 5: Create GIS Data from topographic sheets One sessionParticipants

    - Geo-reference topographic sheets and scanned maps- Add coordinate systems and projections- Digitize contours, water bodies, etc. from the maps- Create layers of Administrative Boundaries

    Module 6: Working with tabular data One sessionParticipants

    - Convert tabular data with coordinates into shape files- Link tabular data with GIS

    Module 7: Create Land Use/Land Cover Maps and Digital Maps, Use KML Files One sessionParticipants

    - Can carry out land use mapping from satellite images- Digitize land use maps from Town/Country Planning Data- Create digital maps- Convert files to KML and visualize on Google Earth
