The cyclist team ‘Saxo Bank – Playitas” has chosen Fuerteventura for its racing pre-season training for the 2010 campaign, when its team members will compete on the Vuelta a España, Giro d’Italia and Tour de France, to name a few. The team director and ex-champion of the Tour de France, Bjame Riis, pointed out “the amazing climatic conditions of the island, the sun and good weather, as well as impres-sive conditions of “Las Playitas Resort” hotel” for their the pre-season trainings.

Bjame Riis participated in the presentation of the team during an event that took place at Las Playi-tas Resort with cyclists Fabián Cancellara (current Olympic Champion and Time trial World Champion), Jens Voigt and Juan José Haedo. The director of Las Playitas Resorts, Andrés de la Presilla also took part in the event as well as Tuineje’s Mayor, Salvador Delgado and the Cabildo’s President, Mario Cabrera.

cyclists such as Majorero cheese with denomination of origin from Los Adejes.

Fabio Cancellara explained that: “the conditions on the island are perfect for our training, we have had a couple of perfects weeks with ideal weather. I have come from Italy where we had an average tempera-ture of 2 degrees with constant rain. Fuerteventura’s climate is perfect”.

for next season regarding the international main peloton cyclists, “to win against the clock which will be very difficult as it is very tough, but Andy Schlek is training really well here in Fuerteventura and will be very strong this year”. Regarding the seven time Tour de France champion, Lance Armstrong, Riis was confident in saying that “he is getting older and this will show in front of cyclists like Andy, who are a lot younger and very strong”.

Juan José Haedo referred to the training carried out in Fuerteventura saying: “we have walked through natural spaces for survival training, and we have also carried out very positive cycling trips. The island offers really positive characteristics with its roads and cli-mate. We will come back from 10th January for a new meeting with the whole team in order to train a lot on the road”. While Jens Voigt referred to “Las Playitas Resort” saying: “I was pleasantly surprised, not only for the training, but also to come with my family and friends to relax and enjoy the sun and the beach”.

“Las Playitas Resort” has sponsored the “Saxo Bank” team since last season and has already con-firmed their agreement for the next 2010 campaign, where the team has already got confirmation of their participation to the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España, and other international champion-ships.

El equipo ciclista ‘Saxo Bank – Playitas’ ha elegido Fuerteventura para realizar sus entrenamientos de pretemporada de cara a la campaña de 2010, en la que sus corredores competirán en la Vuelta a España, Giro de Italia y Tour de Francia, entre otras pruebas. El director del equipo y ex campeón del Tour de Fran-cia Bjarne Riis, destacó “las magníficas condiciones climáticas de la isla, el sol y el buen tiempo, además de las buenas impresionantes condiciones del hotel ‘Las Playitas Resort’” para acoger los entrenamientos de la pretemporada.

Bjarne Riis participó esta mañana en la presentación del equipo en un acto que se desarrolló en ‘Las Playitas Resort’, acompañado de los ciclistas Fabián Cancellara (actual campeón olímpico y campeón del Mundo con-trarreloj), Jens Voigt y Juan José Haedo. Junto a ellos, también intervinieron el director de ‘Playitas Resort’, Andrés de la Presilla; el alcalde de Tuineje, Salvador Delgado; y el presidente del Cabildo, Mario Cabrera.

ciclistas de una serie de obsequios de la Isla, entre ellos queso majorero de Los Adejes con Denomina-ción de Origen.

Por su parte Fabio Cancellara explicó que las condiciones encontradas en la Isla “son perfectas para nuestro entrenamiento, hemos realizado unas semanas perfectas y el tiempo ha sido ideal. Vengo de Italia donde estábamos a 2 grados de tempera-tura media y con lluvias permanentes. El clima de Fuerteventura es perfecto”.

Contador y aMstrongBjearne Riis se refirió por su parte a las posibilida-

des que presenta la próxima temporada con respecto a los principales competidores del pelotón ciclista internacional, “ganar a Contador será muy complica-do porque es muy fuerte, pero Andy Schlek se está preparando muy bien aquí en Fuerteventura y este año estará muy fuerte”. Sobre el siete veces campeón del Tour de Francia, Lance Armstrong, Riis fue más contundente al afirmar que “tiene ya muchos años y eso tiene que notarse ya frente a corredores como Andy, mucho más jóvenes y muy fuertes”.

Juan José Haedo se refirió por su parte al entrena-miento realizado hasta ahora en Fuerteventura “he-mos realizado recorridos a pie por espacios naturales, con entrenamiento de supervivencia, también hemos hecho recorridos en bicicleta que han sido muy posi-tivos. La isla ofrece unas características muy buenas por sus carreteras y también por las condiciones cli-máticas. Volveremos a partir del 10 de enero para una nueva concentración y ya con todo el equipo haciendo muchos recorridos de carretera”. Mientras que Jens Voigt se refirió a la isla y a ‘Playitas Resort’ destacando “me han sorprendido agradablemente, y no solo para entrenar, sino para venir con mi familia y mis amigos a descansar y disfrutar del sol y de la playa”.

El Cabildo de Fuerteventura y el Gobierno de Cana-rias financian la construcción del edificio del Archivo Histórico Insular, cuyo anuncio de contratación se publicó en el Boletín oficial de la Provincia del 23 de octubre. La financiación se hace con cargo a Plan sectorial de Cultura. La obra tiene un plazo de ejecución de 24 meses, y se ubicará en una parcela propiedad del Cabildo situada entre las calles José Antonio Espinosa y Lucha Canaria, en Puerto del Ro-sario, muy cerca del actual edificio de usos múltiples del Cabildo, con una superficie total construida de 3.557 m2 en una parcela rectangular de 17x55m. El proyecto es obra de los arquitectos Nuria Vallespín, Jorge Arribas y Daniel Padrón, y se distribuye en cua-tro plantas (sótano, planta baja, primera y segunda).

La consejera de Cultura y Patrimonio Histórico del Cabildo, Genara Ruiz, explicó que “se trata de un edi-ficio singular que formará parte del centro cívico de la ciudad y que por su volumen y forma será fácilmente identificable para la finalidad a la que se destina: la de Archivo Insular. Todo, ubicado en torno a una plaza central que relaciona el edificio con las otras instalaciones públicas ya construidas y en servicio y

las que está previsto realizar en la zona en un futuro al tratarse de una parcela de titularidad pública. El edificio cuenta además con espacios destinados a actividades culturales, sala de exposiciones, sala de investigación, etc.”.

Como criterios generales, la doble finalidad del edificio (conservación de la memoria documental his-tórica – funciones administrativas y de investigación) lleva a su ordenación en dos zonas bien diferentes, articuladas por un amplio acceso y vestíbulo público en conexión con la plaza y la ciudad, accesible des-de ambos lados del edificio, convirtiéndose en una prolongación de la plaza pública. A partir de ahí, un área de archivo perfectamente ordenada y compacta concebida como un lugar donde el valor de su conte-nido y el funcionamiento del programa que encierra se antepone a cualquier otro condicionante de tipo arquitectónico evidenciándose en la rotundidad geométrica del volumen con que se plantea. Con respecto al otro bloque, dedicado a actividades cul-turales se plantea con carácter público y la vocación de compartir y transmitir la información guardada en el volumen principal.

Die Radfahrermannschaft ‚Saxo Bank – Playitas’ hat Fuerteventura ausgewählt, um sich auf die Kam-pagne 2010 vorzubereiten, in der sie unter anderem an den Wettkämpfen Vuelta a España, Giro d’Italia und Tour de France teilnehmen wird. Der Direktor der Mannschaft, ein ehemaliger Champion der Tour de France, Bjarne Riis, betonte „das hervorragende Klima der Insel, die Sonne und das gute Wetter sowie die beeindruckenden Bedingungen des Hotels “Pla-yitas Resort ist ideal“ für das Training der Vorsaison.

Bjarne Riis nahm an der Präsentation der Manns-chaft im ‚Playitas Resort’ teil, ebenso wie auch die Radfahrer Fabián Cancellara (aktueller olympischer Champion und Weltmeister im Zeitfahren), Jens Voigt und Juan José Haedo. Außer diesen hielten auch der Direktor des ‚Playitas Resort’, Andrés de la Presilla; der Bürgermeister von Tuineje, Salvador Delgado; und der Präsident des Cabildo, Mario Cabrera Reden.

Cancellara und der Käse von FuerteventuraDie Politiker aus Fuerteventura schenkten den

Radfahrern mehrere einheimische Produkte, unter anderem Fuerteventura-Käse mit Herkunftsbezeich-nung aus Los Adejes.

Fabian Cancellara erklärte, dass er auf der Insel hervorragende Bedingungen vorgefunden hat: „Diese Insel ist perfekt für unser Training, wir hatten einige super Wochen und das Klima war ideal. Ich komme aus Italien, wo die durchschnittliche Temperatur zwei ein halb Grad beträgt und es außerdem ständig reg-net. Das Klima von Fuerteventura ist perfekt”.

Contador und ArmstrongBjarne Riis bezog sich auf die Möglichkeiten in der

neuen Saison und auf die Wettkämpfer internatio-nalen Radfahrern. „Es wird sehr schwer sein, gegen Contador zu gewinnen, denn er ist sehr stark, aber Andy Schleck bereitet sich dieses Jahr hier auf Fuer-teventura sehr gut vor und er wird auch sehr stark sein “. Über den 7-maligen Sieger der Tour de France, Lance Armstrong, war Riis eindeutiger und erklärte „er ist schon alt und das wird man merken, wenn er gegen jüngere und starke Radfahrer wie Andy antritt”.

Juan José Haedo bezog sich auf das Training auf Fuerteventura: „Wir sind durch die Natur gelaufen, haben Überlebenstraining und auch Radtouren gemacht, und diese Erfahrung war positiv. Die Insel bietet durch ihre Straßen und ihr Klima hervorra-gende Bedingungen. Wir werden ab dem 10. Januar wiederkommen und mit der ‚gesamten Mannschaft auf den Straßen trainieren”. Jens Voigt sagte über die Insel und über ‚Playitas Resort’ “Es war eine ange-nehme Überraschungn. Diese Insel ist nicht nur zum Trainieren ideal, sondern auch um mit meiner Familie und meinen Freunden zu kommen, mich auszuruhen und die Sonne und den Strand zu genießen”.

‚Playitas Resort’ ist seit der vergangenen Saison Sponsor der Mannschaft ‚Saxo Bank’ und hat sich schon für die Saison 2010 verpflichtet, in der die-se Mannschaft an verschiedenen internationalen Wettkämpfen teilnehmen wird, unter anderem an der Tour de France, dem Giro d’Italia und der Vuelta a España.

central area close to other public buildings already in use and others that are planned on being built in the area. This building will also contain spaces dedicated to cultural activities, exhibitions, investigations, etc.”.

As general criteria, the double role of this building (preservation of the historical documental memory – administrative and investigation duties) means it was planned from two very different points of view: for wide access and public lobby area connected with the square and the town, which will be accessible from both sides of the building, and becomes an extension of the public square. From that point, the perfectly arranged and compact archives’ area is conceived like a space where the value of the contents and workings of the programme that it contains are given priority over other architectural specifications. As for the other side, dedicated to cultural activities, it is more focused on its public character and its objective to share and transmit information that is kept in the main area.

Das Gebäude wird in Puerto del Rosario auf einem Grundstück gebaut, das im Besitz des Cabildo ist und zwischen den Straßen José Anto-nio Espinosa und Lucha Canaria liegt. Dies ist ganz in der Nähe des Mehrzweckgebäudes des Cabildos. Die bebaute Fläche wird insgesamt 3.557 m2 betragen. Das Grundstück ist ein Rechteck von 17x55m. Das Gebäude soll zwei Zwecken dienen (Erhaltung der historischen Dokumentation – Verwaltung und Forschung). Diese werden in zwei verschiedenen Bereichen des Gebäudes untergebracht, die durch eine gemeinsame Vorhalle mit dem Platz und der Stadt verbunden werden. Man gelangt durch beide Seiten des Gebäudes dorthin, wodurch diese Halle zu einer Verlängerung des öffentlichen Platzes wird. Dort beginnt ein perfekt geordnetes und kompaktes Archiv, das als Ort entworfen wurde, wo der Wert des Inhalts und das Funktionieren des Programms wichtiger als jede andere architektonische Idee sind. Dies kommt durch die runde Form zum Ausdruck. Der andere Block dagegen ist für kulturelle Aktivitäten bestimmt und wurde als öffentlicher Ort entworfen, in dem die im Hauptteil gelagerten Informationen weitergegeben werden sollen.

La Consejería de Aguas y Residuos de Cabildo cola-boró con el Gobierno de Canarias y el Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario en la organización del programa de actividades de ‘Reciclavidrio en Islas’, que entre el 9 y 11 de diciembre se desarrolló en el Recinto Ferial de Puerto del Rosario dirigida a escolares y en general a las familias, con el fin de llamar su atención y explicar cómo cada ciudadano puede contribuir al cuidado del medio ambiente reciclando vidrio-

Las actividades contempladas en esta campaña fueron diferentes juegos y actividades didácticas, para que los niños aprendan jugando por qué se recicla el vidrio. Entre otras actividades había un iglú hinchable que es el protagonista de la campaña, junto a talleres de dibujo y manualidades.

Todo ello, distribuido en una superficie de unos 1.000 metros cuadrados y que contó con educadores medioambientales que se encargaron de hacer de guías y monitores.

El Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario organizó ‘Reciclavidrio en Islas’

Das Amt für Wasser und Müll des Cabildo organi-sierte gemeinsam mit der Regierung der Kanaren und der Gemeinde von Puerto del Rosario die Akti-vitäten des Programms ‚Reciclavidrio en Islas’, das zwischen dem 9. und dem 11. Dezember auf dem Messegelände von Puerto del Rosario stattfand. Durch dieses Programm sollten Schüler und Familien lernen, wie jeder Bürger durch das Recyclen von Glas zum Umweltschutz beitragen kann. -

Zu den Aktivitäten dieser Kampagne gehörten verschiedene Spiele und didaktische Aktivitäten, um den Kindern spielerisch beizubringen, warum Glas wieder verwertet wird. Es gab unter anderem ein aufblasbares Iglu, das neben den Workshops für Malen und manuelle Tätigkeiten im Mittelpunkt der Kampagne stand.

Alle diese Veranstaltungen fanden auf einer 1.000 Quadratmeter großen Fläche statt. Umwelterzieher waren als Lehrer und Führer tätig.

Die Gemeinde vonRosario organisierte‘Reciclavidrio en Islas’

The Cabildo’s Water and Wastes council collabo-rated with the Canarian Government and Puerto del Rosario’s Ayuntamiento in the organisation of the activities programmes called “Reciclavidrio en Islas” (Islands recycle glass) that took place between 9th and 11th December in the Fair’s Ground of Puerto del Rosario and was aimed at schools and families in general in order to point out and explain how each citizen can contribute to caring for the environment by recycling glass.

The campaign’s activities consisted of various games and didactic activities to teach children through games why glass is recycled. Amongst other activities, there was also an inflatable Igloo which is the campaign’s protagonist as well as drawing and manual activities’ workshops.

The event took place on a 1.000 m2 surface where environmental educators joined in as guides and monitors.

Me he sentido muy bien en la cadena Elba, que es una cadena familiar de 11 hoteles y donde he procurado demostrar con mi labor que siempre me he sentido empresa.nosotros le conocimos en el Castillo…

Sí, en el Elba Castillo San Jorge Suites estuve durante cuatro años y ahora dirijo el Hotel Sheraton.el entrar en este hotel como director, ¿qué pers-pectivas y retos le ofrece?

Podría decirse que es jugar en ligas mayores. Esta cadena Starwood Hotels, que tiene mas de 900 hoteles repartidos por el mundo, marca un antes y un después en la labor de un director. Dirigir uno de estos hoteles de cinco estrellas, con spa, etc., te obliga a adquirir una experiencia y una dinámica que difícilmente puedes encontrar en un hotel que no sea como este, de gran lujo.

Sheraton marca unos niveles de calidad y servicio, que deben mantenerse siempre y que están sujetos a inspecciones encubiertas, donde se valora el nivel y la imagen que se da en cada servicio del hotel.¿qué puede aportar a este hotel?

“La diferencia, aparte de las instalaciones, es el trato que se ofrezca al cliente”

Bueno, pienso que lo que marca la diferencia dentro de un hotel, aparte de las instalaciones, es el trato que se le ofrezca al cliente. En Canarias siempre hemos tenido fama de ser amables, yo espero poder potenciar aún más este trato que debe caracterizar-nos. Además a mi la silla del despacho me quema, yo hago muchos kilómetros al día inspeccionando

todos y cada uno de los rincones del hotel, con lo que espero que no se me escape ningún detalle, tanto de mantenimiento como de servicio.

Soy consciente que la comunicación con los em-pleados es fundamental, deben sentirse apoyados y seguros en su trabajo. Por muy buen director que seas, si no tienes un buen equipo, no consigues nada.¿alguna novedad en cuanto a los restaurantes abiertos al público en general?

Además del buffet y el restaurante de la piscina, que están siempre abiertos, actualmente los res-taurantes temáticos se van alternando, cada día abre uno.

Bien, pues ya solo nos resta darle la enhorabuena por esta nueva dirección y desearle que, como en casos anteriores, consiga todo tipo de éxitos perso-nales y también de equipo, sin perder esa amabilidad y accesibilidad que le caracteriza.

Juan Manuel Galán is one of those young Canarian directors, who in addition to showing his natural kindness, also makes one believe that everything is easy and possible. juan Manuel, how long have you worked in the elba group for?

I started working for Elba nine years ago, in Vecinda-rio in Las Palmas. I started thanks to Adolfo Díaz, who I worked with in another company. He called me and after two years in Vecindario I arrived in Fuerteventura for the opening of Elba Sara, but for six months prior to its inauguration I was at the Elba Golf Hotel.

It feels good working in the Elba group; it is a family run business of 11 hotels where I have been able to show through my work that I have always felt involved in this company.We used to know you from el Castillo…

Yes, I worked for four years at the Elba Castillo San Jorge Suites and I now run the Sheraton Hotel.What are your perspectives and goals going into this hotel as director?

I could say that it is about playing in the greater league. A chain like the Starwood Hotels chain that consists of over 900 hotels worldwide, really makes an impact in the career of a director. Managing one of those five star hotels, with spa, etc., brings you an experience and dynamic that would be difficult to gain in another hotel that would not be like this one, a luxury hotel.

Sheraton has levels in quality and services that must be maintained at all times and that are subject to undercover inspections where the level and image of each hotel service is evaluated.What can you change in this hotel?

Well, I believe that what makes a difference in a hotel, apart from the premises, is how the client is treated. In the Canaries we have always had a reputation of being kind and I hope to strengthen even more that aspect that should characterise us. Furthermore I can’t stay in my office chair; I walk for kilometres everyday doing inspections on everything

I am aware that communication with the staff is fundamental; they must feel supported and confident in their job. As good a director as you may be, without a good team, you won’t achieve anything.are there any novelties regarding restaurants open to the public?

In addition to the buffet and the pool restaurant that are open at all times, the theme restaurants are alternating and one of them is open every day.

Juan Manuel Galán gehört zu den jungen kanaris-chen Führungskräften. Er ist nicht nur sehr sympa-thisch, sondern vermittelt einem auch das Gefühl, dass alles leicht und nichts unmöglich ist.

seit wann arbeiten sie für die hotelkette elba, juan Manuel?

Ich habe in der Hotelkette Elba vor neun Jahren in Vecindario in Las Palmas begonnen. Mich brachte Adolfo Díaz dorthin, für den ich schon in einem an-deren Unternehmen gearbeitet hatte. Dann wandte er sich wieder an mich, und nach zwei Jahren in Vecindario kam ich nach Fuerteventura für die Eröff-nung des Elba Sara, aber sechs Monate lang, vor der Eröffnung, war ich im Hotel Elba Golf.

Ich habe mich sehr wohl in der Kette Elba gefühlt. Es ist ein Familienunternehmen, das über 11 Hotels verfügt. Ich habe mich dort bemüht, immer mein Bestes zu geben.Wir haben sie in el Castillo kennengelernt…

Ja, ich war vier Jahre lang im Elba Castillo San Jorge Suites und jetzt leite ich das Sheraton-Hotel.Was sind Ihre Perspektiven und herausforderun-gen als direktor von diesem hotel?

Ich könnte sagen, dass wir uns in einer höheren Sphäre bewegen. Es gehört der Kette Starwood-Hotels, die über mehr als 900 Hotels auf der ganzen Welt verfügt. Dies ist ein Wendepunkt in meiner Karriere als Hoteldirektor. Wenn man ein derartiges 5 Sterne Hotel mit Spa usw. leitet, muss man viel Erfahrung haben und man ist zu der Dynamik ver-pflichtet, die man normalerweise nur in Luxushotels wie diesem findet.

Sheraton hat Qualitätsstandards, die immer beibe-halten werden müssen und von dem Unternehmen durch verdeckte Inspektionen kontrolliert werden, bei denen das Niveau und das Image aller Leistungen des Hotels bewertet werden.Wodurch zeichnet sich dieses hotel aus?

Ich denke, dass sich dieses Hotel nicht nur durch sei-ne Anlage unterscheidet, sondern auch dadurch wie die Kunden behandelt werden. Die Kanaren waren immer für ihre Freundlichkeit bekannt, aber ich möchte noch mehr für die Kunden tun. Ich sitze nicht nur viele Stun-den am Tag an meinem Schreibtisch, sondern lege auch viele Kilometer zurück, indem ich täglich alles überprüfe, was im Hotel passiert. Ich hoffe, dass mir dabei nichts entgeht. Ich überprüfe sowohl die Instandhaltung als auch den Service.

Ich bin mir bewusst, dass die Kommunikation mit den Angestellten sehr wichtig ist. Diese müssen dass Gefühl haben, dass sie unterstützt werden. Auch der beste

Direktor würde ohne ein gutes Team nichts erreichen.gibt es im Bereich der restaurants irgendeine neuigkeit?

Das Buffet und das Restaurant des Schwimmbads sind praktisch immer geöffnet. Dazu kommen die themenbezogenen Restaurants, von denen jeden Tag eines geöffnet ist.

Tita, recién llegada de Las Palmas, transmite ilusión y optimismo por todos lados. Se nota que le gusta su labor y que este nuevo reto la mantiene llena de expectativas.¿tita en qué consiste se labor aquí en la universi-dad Popular?

En coordinar todas las actividades que la universi-dad de Las Palmas pone en marcha en Fuerteventura.Pero estas actividades, ¿son una novedad en Fuerteventura?

Es una nueva estructura directamente relacionada con la puesta en marcha de los estudios de enferme-ría. Es la primera actividad presencial que se hace en Fuerteventura porque otras actividades online y también cursos en periodos puntuales del año, ya se hacían en Fuerteventura desde antes. Hay siete titulaciones online para todo el archipiélago que puso en marcha la universidad de Las Palma ya hace años.

Existe un curso de “Estudios canarios avanzados” y un otro de “Pericia y doctrina” que se imparte para personas mayores, y que la Universidad se desplaza hasta Fuerteventura y Lanzarote para impartirlos.¿y es aquí en la universidad Popular donde se imparten los cursos de enfermería?

El cabildo de Fuerteventura habilitó estas instala-ciones, que están realmente muy bien montadas y, que la universidad de Las Palmas aprobó por inicia-tiva del Consejo Social de la Universidad. Se valoró previamente la necesidad de estos estudios en esta isla, se hizo un estudio de viabilidad y se aprobó la puesta en marcha estos estudios para la titulación de enfermería.

Ya hace tiempo que la demanda de personal de enfermería en la isla y en general en el archipiélago era notoria y a propósito de esta demanda es cuando se aprueba la ampliación de plazas en la universidad de Las Palmas. Imaginamos que es un gran logro para la isla, puesto que no todo el mundo, puede permitirse desplazase a las islas mayores para obtener estos estudios.

“Los estudios de enfermería son la primera actividad presencial en la isla”

este curso académico que se inicio en septiembre hemos tenido más de 400 solicitudes, lo cual de-muestra que había mucho interés.¿Cuántas plazas se admiten por curso, y cuanto tiempo dura?

Son 50, los que han comenzado, y con la diplo-matura actual la duración será de tres años, pero los que comiencen ya el año próximo que tendrán la titulación de grado, que es titulo adaptado al espacio europeo de educación superior, serán cuatro años.

No obstante será el alumno que comenzó este año, quien elija si desea pasar al grado y por lo tanto alargar un año más el curso.

Ahora vamos a entrar en el espacio europeo de educación superior, donde todas las titulaciones en España se modifican y en el caso de la enfermería, que hasta ahora es una diplomatura, pasara al grado.tanto la diplomatura como el nuevo grado euro-peo conllevan prácticas...

Sí y en cada curso van aumentando el número de meses que estas deben realizarse y en el caso de los cuatro años de grado, la forma en que son impartidas las clases toma una dinámica diferente. La adaptación de los métodos de estudio hasta para el profesorado es compleja, ya que los antiguos roles de “profesor que tiene todos los conocimientos”, cambia y pasa a ser un guía para el estudiante, que adquiere conocimientos tanto a través de él como de otros medios.¿qué titulación se requiere para acceder a estos cursos?

Bachiller superior, y prueba de acceso a la universi-dad aunque también hay otros caminos de entrada. Existen plazas, aunque más limitadas por supuesto, para los que hicieron Formación Profesional y para los mayores de 25 años que han realizado el acceso a la universidad. También para deportistas de élite y en breve habrá plazas para mayores de 40 años, porque la ley articula que debe haber este tipo de

plazas y tendrán que instituirse en breve. tita, ¿cómo se siente en este nuevo destino?

Estoy encantada con Fuerteventura, en el tiempo que llevo aquí he descubierto que es una isla espe-cial. La mejor prueba está en los estudiantes que ahora mismo están cursando primero. Actúan con unas ganas de trabajar, estudiar y tienen una crea-tividad y un interés que pocos grupos de este nivel muestran. Estoy segura que se haga lo que se haga en Fuerteventura, encontrará el terreno abonado para ser un éxito.

Espero que con estas nuevas titulaciones a nivel europeo, Fuerteventura arranque en breve también, con otros cursos de titulación presencial universitaria.

There are seven qualifications available online for the whole archipelago that was put in place by Las Palmas’ University years ago. There is a course of “Advanced Canarian Studies” and another of “Skills and Doctri-ne” that is organised for elderly people and for which the University sends someone over to Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.so, it is in Fuerteventura’s Popular university that the nursing courses are available?

“Nursing courses are the most popular studies on the island”

that are really convenient and for which Las Palmas University gave their approval through the initiative of the University’s Social Council. It was previously decided that those studies were important for the island; a viability study was carried out and it was agreed to put in place those nursing courses.

The demand in nursing staff on the island and on the archipelago in general had been known of for a while and this is the reason why the number of places available at Las Palmas University was increased.I guess that this is a great achievement for the island, as some people cannot travel to the main islands in order to study.

That is correct; it was expensive and difficult to leave Fuerteventura, especially for adults who already have their lives organised. This is why the response on the island was impressive. We got over 400 requests for this year’s course that started in September, which shows the extend of interest there was.how many places are there per course and how long does a course go on for?

There are 50 places for the course that has already started, and the duration for the current degree is three years. But for those who will start next year for the degree that is adapted to the European Higher Education, the duration will be four year.

However students who started this year will choose whether or not to go for this degree and therefore extend the course for one more year.

We are now going into the European Higher Educa-tion Space, where all the qualifications in Spain are being modified and as for nursing courses they are changing to higher degrees.

Both levels of degrees surely mean having to go through training courses…

Yes that’s true; the training courses are increasing in duration and for the four year degree, the courses are being held in a different manner. Even the adap-tation of studying methods for teachers is complex; the old role of “teacher who has all the knowledge” has become a role of guide for students, who acquire knowledge through the teacher as well as through other methods.What level is required to access those courses?

A superior secondary education diploma is requi-red and proof of a successful entry test to University although there are also other ways to get in. There are some places, although in very limited numbers of course, for those who went through a Professional Training and for people over 25 years of age who passed the University entry test. There will also be spaces for the Elite Athletes and for people over 40 years of age because the law says that such places must be available.tita, how do you like your new home?

I really like Fuerteventura, over the time I have spent here, I have discovered that it is a special island. The best proof is the students that are currently going for the first course. They have such motivation to work, study and demonstrate such creativity and interest that few groups of that level normally have. I am sure that whatever happens in Fuerteventura, they will find a destination to succeed. I hope that with those new European level degrees, Fuerteventura will start providing other University courses.

Die Universität organisiert diese Kurse auf Fuerteventura und Lanzarote.Findet der unterricht des studienganges für krankenpflege hier in der universidad Popular statt?

Der Cabildo von Fuerteventura hat diese Einrich-tungen bereitgestellt: Sie sind wirklich hervorragend und wurden von der Universität von Las Palmas auf Initiative des Rates der Universität genehmigt. Vorher wurde überprüft, dass diese Insel diesen Studien-gang benötigt. Ja, in jedem Kurs dauert das Praktikum, das die Studenten machen müssen, mehre Monate. In dem vierjährigen Studiengang bekommt der Unterricht eine andere Dynamik. Die neuen Methoden sind sogar für den Lehrkörper schwierig, da sich die alte Rolle des Professors, „der alles weiß”, ändert. Er wird zu einem Führer des Studenten, welcher durch diesen und durch andere Mittel sein Wissen erhält.Welchen akademischen titel braucht man, um

Zugang zu diesen studiengängen zu haben?Man braucht das Abitur und die Aufnahmeprüfung

der Uni, aber es gibt auch andere Wege, um Zugang zu bekommen. Es gibt einige Studienplätze für Leute, die schon eine professionelle Ausbildung abgeschlos-sen haben und für über 25-Jährige, die schon eine Aufnahmeprüfung für diese Universität gemacht haben. Außerdem gibt es Plätze für Spitzensportler, und bald wird es auch welche für über 40-Jährige geben, diese Plätze sind vom Gesetz vorgeschrieben und werden in kürze geschaffen. tita, wie gefällt es Ihnen hier?

Ich bin von Fuerteventura begeistert. In der Zeit, die ich hier bin, habe ich gemerkt, dass es eine besondere Insel ist. Der beste Beweis dafür sind die Studenten des Kurses. Una nueva aerolínea canaria comenzará a operar el próximo mes de mayo de 2010 con sede en Fuerte-ventura. Se trata de la compañía Fly Combi Canarias S.L. que se centrará inicialmente en los vuelos chárter entre las Islas Canarias y el continente europeo. El pasado mes de octubre la Zona Especial Canaria (ZEC) autorizó el registro de la entidad y el inicio de la actividad con el respaldo de este incentivo fiscal. En estos momentos, la empresa está en proceso de captación de parte de su capital social y ha abierto las puertas a la entrada de empresarios locales en su accionariado.

Además, la entidad ZEC ha previsto un interesante esquema de reparto de dividendos, lo que la convier-te en una atractiva opción de inversión que puede resultar interesante para los empresarios canarios interesados en el sector aéreo.

Fly Combi Canarias tendrá su sede social en la isla de Fuerteventura que, por detrás de Gran Canaria y Tenerife, es la tercera en el registro de empresas ZEC.

PreVIsIonesLos responsables de esta nueva compañía aérea

han hecho público un informe con sus previsiones hasta el año 2013. Respecto al número de pasajeros, la empresa espera alcanzar los 150.000 en 2010, mientras que para 2011-2013 esta cifra casi se tripli-caría hasta llegar a los 400.000 pasajeros. Además, el informe refleja que será a partir de 2011 cuando la entidad cuente con la flota completa.

En lo que se refiere a los beneficios, Fly Combi Ca-narias tiene previsto ganar alrededor de 1.500.000 euros en 2010 y 8.000.000 euros en 2011. El obje-tivo es llegar a un registro medio anual superior a los 6.000.000 en 2012 y 2013.

la aerolínea Calima. Calima Aviación, fundada en 2003 y con sede en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, ob-tuvo en noviembre el permiso de la Dirección General de Aviación Civil tras años dedicados al transporte de carga y otros servicios.

Ahora, durante los próximos seis meses, actuarán como compañía aérea de apoyo y colaboración. En este sentido ofertarán su Boeing 737 a aerolíneas que, por diferentes motivos, necesiten un avión. La empresa ha apostado por estos servicios para iniciar su actividad, ya que no aún no tienen capa-

Pau Valverde nació en Madrid, pero ya con cinco años se trasladó a Barcelona junto con su familia, como si fuera un avance de una vida viajera e intensa que le esperaba en el futuro.

Ya en su adolescencia descubre el barro y se ma-tricula en el taller escuela Leonardo da Vinci, donde se formará como ceramista. Es en esta profesión donde se realiza creativamente y a la que dedicará su vida profesional.

Inquieto, pensador y creativo, viaja desde joven al principio en bicicleta por Europa y después hacia el nuevo mundo. Nicaragua, Panamá, Perú y algunos otros lugares. Parte muy joven de españa, ¿dónde comenzó su andadura?

Me fui a Nicaragua, como cooperante y ceramista a un proyecto productivo en el norte del país y luego a Perú un año, también como cooperante, en una comunidad andina, haciendo un taller de tejas de barro y después de nuevo a Nicaragua con dos nue-vos proyectos, uno ayudando a niños en situación de riesgo, enseñándoles el oficio y luego el proyecto del que me siento mas satisfecho, que fue trabajando en una comunidad donde las mujeres ya se dedica-ban a la alfarería tradicional y querían mejorar su producción y aprender a usar el torno.Pau, después de tantos lugares visitados, ¿cómo llegó a Fuerteventura?

Mi compañera, a la que conocí en Nicaragua, era de Tenerife y allí regresé después de dar una amplia vuelta por Europa, luego ambos decidimos venir a Fuerteventura, puesto que mi pareja es de aquí, de Tuineje. Primero vivimos en Antigua donde cree el taller de cerámica Barrobarranco y tiempo después nos trasladamos a Tiscamanita y aquí asenté mi nuevo taller de cerámica, Tierraroja.

dentro de su trabajo, ¿qué es lo más le gusta crear?

Lo que más me gusta no es lo que más se deman-da. Me encanta hacer platos, vasos y demás recipien-tes de uso diario, pero aquí en nuestro país el uso de barro en estos utensilios es muy poco habitual, vamos a lo estandarizado y menos frágil. También es más barato aunque carezca de la parte artesanal y creativa de una pieza hecha con barro. Lo que más realizo son piezas pequeñas, fáciles de transportar que pueden encontrarse en las tiendas de artesanía del cabildo y que puedan identificarse con el lugar de su origen por sus colores y formas. ¡Mi ilusión al crear una pieza es unir lo práctico con lo bello!Poco a poco la alfarería se ha ido revalorizando de nuevo…

Sí, ya en los años 80 se comenzó a ponerse de moda, pero sólo como objetos decorativos, no como utensilios de uso común. En otros países se valora más el uso diario de sus propios “cacharritos” artesa-nales, su cuenco, su taza, etc. y les gusta envejecer junto con ellos.además de la creación, también hace una labor didáctica ¿no?

Siempre me ha gustado transmitir mis conocimien-tos al igual que me los transmitieron a mi. He dado varios cursos, pero de difícil manera, pues no están los lugares acondicionados para ellos. También he dado talleres de barro en diferentes escuelas de la isla. Y también en el taller de empleo de Antigua he dado 60 horas para crear alfareros en la isla.

Pau ha escrito un libro autobiográfico que se llama “Vivir del barro”, es anecdótico y curioso. Les acon-sejamos a nuestros lectores que lo lean, les ayudará a tener una idea más amplia de este artista y de su forma de sentir.




Pau Valverde was born in Madrid but moved to Barcelona with his family when he was five, as if it was a preview of his travels and the intense life he would experience in the future.

Already as an adolescent he discovered clay and registered at the Leonardo da Vinci school workshop, where he was trained as a ceramist. It is in this area that he has been developing his creativity and which he has dedicated his life to.

Lively, thoughtful and creative, he travels from a young age, first on his bicycle within Europe and later to the new world: Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and others.

you left spain at a very young age, where did you start your venture?

I went to Nicaragua as aid worker and ceramist for a productive project in the north of the country and then to Peru for one year, also as aid worker in an Andean community where I created a clay tile workshop and then I went back to Nicaragua with two new projects, one was helping children in need, teaching them this profession and the other project which I am very proud of, was to work in a community where women already made traditional pottery and wanted to improve their production and learn to use the wheel.Pau, after visiting so many places, how did you end up in Fuerteventura?

My partner, who I met in Nicaragua, was from Tene-rife and we went back there after a long trip all over Europe, then we both decided to come to Fuerteven-tura as my partner was originally from Tuineje. We first lived in Antigua where I created the Barrobarranco ceramic workshop and later we moved to Tiscamanita where I created my new workshop, Tierraroja.In your work, what do you prefer creating?

What I prefer is not what is demanded the most. I love making dishes, cups and other daily use reci-pients, but in our country clay is not widely used for utensils, we prefer more standard and less fragile materials. It is also cheaper, a hand made piece

which is creative and made with clay is always a little more expensive. I make mostly small pieces that are easy to transport; they can be found in the Cabildo’s handcraft shops and can be identified with their place of origin from their colours and shape. Yes, already in the 80’s it started becoming fashio-nable but only for decorative objects, not for common utensils. In other countries it is more widely used daily with little hand made pots, bowls, cups, etc. and people like to grow old with them.In addition to the creative side, you also carry out some didactic work, don’t you?

I have always liked to transmit my knowledge like it was transmitted to me. I have taught various courses, but it was not easy, as the premises are not adequate. I have also done a few workshop courses on clay in various schools on the island. I also taught during a 60 hour-course to promote ceramic work on the island for Antigua’s employment workshop.

Pau wrote an autobiography called “Vivir del barro” which is anecdotic and curious. We urge our readers to read it, it will help them get a better idea of who this artist is and how he feels.

Ich ging als Keramiker und Entwicklungshelfer nach Nicaragua, um an einem Produktionsprojekt im Norden des Landes teilzunehmen. Dann ging ich für ein Jahr nach Peru, wo ich ebenfalls als Entwic-klungshelfer tätig war. Ich gründete in einem Dorf in den Anden eine Töpfereiwerkstatt. Danach kehrte ich

nach Nicaragua zurück, wo ich zwei Projekte hatte, um Kindern in riskanten Lebenssituationen zu helfen, indem ich ihnen einen Beruf beibrachte. Danach führte ich das Projekt durch, mit dem ich besonders zufrieden bin. Ich arbeitete in einem Dorf, wo sich die Frauen traditionell der Töpferei widmen. Mir macht das am meisten Spaß, wonach die größte Nachfrage besteht. Ich stelle sehr gerne Teller, Becher und andere Gefäße her, die man tagtäglich benutzt. In unserem Land ist es nicht besonders üblich, derartige Gegenstände aus Ton herzustellen. Wir verwenden Standardware, die nicht so leicht kaputtgeht. Sie ist auch billiger, aber sie ist nicht handgemacht und auch nicht so originell wie Gegenstände, die aus Ton her-gestellt werden. Ich stelle vor allem kleine Gegenstän-de her, die man leicht transportieren kann. Sie kön-nen in den Kunsthandwerkgeschäften des Cabildo verkauft werden und können aufgrund ihrer Farben und Formen leicht mit dem Ort identifiziert werden, von dem sie kommen. Ich stelle gerne Gegenstände her, die gleichzeitig schön und praktisch sind.die töpferei hat nach und nach wieder an mehr ansehen gewonnen …

Ja, sie kam in den 80er Jahren in Mode, aber das gilt nur für dekorative Gegenstände, nicht für Sachen, die man im Alltag verwendet. In anderen Ländern schätzt man alltägliche Gebrauchsgegenstände aus Ton mehr, wie Schüsseln, Tassen usw. Dort freuen sich die Leute, wenn ihre Gegenstände aus Ton mit ihnen zusammen alt werden.neben Ihrer künstlerischen tätigkeit unterrichten sie auch. Ist das richtig?

Ich habe meine Kenntnisse immer gerne anderen beigebracht, genauso wie sie mir beigebracht worden sind. Ich habe verschiedene Kurse gegeben, das war jedoch schwierig, da hier richtigen Räumlichkeiten dafür fehlen. Ich habe auch Töpfereiworkshops in verschiedenen Schulen der Insel gegeben. Außerdem habe ich in der Schule für Arbeitssuchende von An-tigua einen 60-stündigen Kurs gegeben, um auf der Insel Kunsthandwerker auszubilden.

sports! Many of us often think about going running, do half an hour of exercise or register at the gym. At the beginning of the year, gyms are full, but 60% of people then disappear after 3 months. In order to motivate people to exercise, centres create new activities such as dancing, meditation, outdoors excursions, water sports, etc. so that people won’t get bored. It is about keeping at it, knowing that sport is good for our health and also brings us beauty and wellbeing.

this year it is more important than ever, as when it comes to finding a job, to know one of two languages is always an added bonus. If you are unemployed, take advantage of the free time to learn English, the universal language and another such as Italian, or Chinese which is fashionable at the moment.

New Year resolutions for 2010. Will you achieve yours?

An option which won’t cost you any money is to practise the language with native people (English, French or German) who live in your area. In exchange you can teach them about your language. Twice per week is enough for you not to forget and you can learn it to perfection.

gIVe uP sMokIng, go on a dIet…Those are yearly resolutions. If you really want to

give up smoking, seek advice from your doctor who will give you tips on how to achieve this. Keep at it and don’t start smoking again, your health and that of others around you will benefit from it.

To go on a diet is the wish of many people, either after the summer or at the beginning of a new year. Like the previous task, it is not an easy one. It is also advisable to speak with your doctor before starting. Remember also that this goal is closely related to exercising and eating healthier.

saVe uPUndeniably, this year saving up is a must. With the

times we are going through, saving up can help us get to the end of the month. In order to do so we have to make a complete list of the purchases we make and cross out the least important ones, like a rating scale. This is not aimed at making us fight for one

treat rather than another one, going out for a meal doesn’t have to cost that much, buying clothes is easier thanks to outlets and there are solutions for household bills.

Saving water and electricity is up to you. Many times we waste money unnecessarily, like when we leave the tap on too long, leave the computer or TV switched on, or the electric chargers plugged in. All this ads up, if we can avoid it, we will save up.

Those are many of our resolutions. Travelling be-comes an unforgettable experience wherever you go. With the daily routine, work, commitments and stress, we don’t take the time for it. Go ahead and be adventurous this year!

On the other hand, some decide to work less in order to spend more time with their family. But this goal never tends to materialise. In 2010, to be with your relatives will be your priority, they deserve it. It is time to relax; everything can wait.

Learning to put problems into perspective is a way to lead a better life. Positive attitude in life will bring you more happiness than sadness, be practical because you only live once. Finally this year is the time to see life like you always dreamt of it. It will be a fantastic year.

Para incentivar a los usuarios a practicar de-porte, tales centros incorporan nuevas actividades, como bailes, meditación, excursiones al aire libre, juegos de agua... para no aburrirse. Se trata de ser constante, de saber que el deporte es beneficiario para la salud y encima te aporta belleza y bienestar.

Una opción que no te costará dinero es practicar dicho idioma con personas nativas (ingleses, fran-ceses, alemanes) que vivan en tu ciudad. A cambio, tú les puedes enseñar mucho más sobre tu idioma. Dos veces por semana es suficiente para que no se te olvide y puedas aprender a la perfección.

También es mejor consultar con el médico antes de dar un paso adelante. Ten presente que este ob-jetivo está muy ligado con hacer deporte y, a la vez, con comer de forma saludable.

obligatorio. Con los tiempos en los que estamos el ahorro para poder llegar a fin de mes es una medida necesaria. Para ello es vital confeccionar una lista completa de las compras que realizamos y tachar de ella lo menos importante, algo así como una escala de valores. Esto no está reñido en darnos algún que otro capricho, pues salir a cenar no cuesta tanto como piensas, comprar ropa es fácil gracias a los outlet y pagar las facturas de consumo de hogar tiene solución.

El ahorro en agua, luz y electricidad depende de ti. Muchas veces realizamos gastos innecesarios, como dejar el grifo abierto demasiado tiempo, tener el ordenador y televisión todo el día abierto o los car-gadores de dispositivos encendidos. Todo ello suma, y si lo podemos evitar, ahorraremos.

VIajar, estar Más Con la FaMIlIa, aCtItud PosItIVa...

Son muchos los propósitos que nos fijamos. Viajar se convierte en una experiencia inolvidable vayas donde vayas. Con el día a día, el trabajo, los com-promisos y el estrés no tenemos tiempo ni para eso. Lánzate a la aventura este año.

Por otra parte, hay quien decide trabajar menos para pasar más tiempo con su familia. Pero esta frase se queda en un intento. Este 2010 estar con los tuyos va a ser tu prioridad, pues se lo merecen. Ya es hora de descansar; todo puede esperar.

Aprender a relativizar los problemas es una salida para vivir mejor. La actitud positiva ante la vida te va a traer más alegrías que penas, sé práctico porque sólo se vive una vez. Por fin este año es el momento de ver la vida como siempre has soñado. Será un año fantástico.

dieses Jahr ist es noch notwendiger als je zuvor. Bei der Arbeitssuche sind Fremdsprachenkenntnisse ein Plus. Wenn Sie arbeitslos sind, dann nutzen Sie die Gelegenheit, um die Weltsprache Englisch und eine weitere Fremdsprache zu lernen. In letzter Zeit sind Italienisch und Chinesisch in Mode.

Wenn man Fremdsprache lernen möchte, ohne Geld auszugeben, kann man einen Austausch mit einem der (englischen, französischen oder deuts-chen) Muttersprachler machen, die in Ihrer Stadt leben. Atrás quedó la Navidad y, casi sin darnos cuenta, nos metemos de lleno en la temida cuesta de enero. Aunque parecía que no podía tener una pendiente más pronunciada, un año marcado por la crisis económica nos sitúa frente a una escalada más complicada que nunca.

Antes de pensar en diferentes medidas para ha-cerle frente, lo primero es elaborar un presupuesto de ingresos y gastos durante el mes de enero. Así, sabremos exactamente de cuánto dinero disponemos y podremos valorar mejor los recortes que vamos a poner en práctica.

No hay que olvidar que con el estreno del nuevo año, y tras los gastos que suponen las fiestas navide-ñas, se produce la subida de tarifas de los suministros básicos, es decir, de la luz, el agua y el gas. Además, también se incrementa el precio del autobús, el me-tro, los servicios postales o el peaje de las autopistas, entre otros muchos conceptos.

que hay que aplicar lo antes posible. Es el momento de quitarnos de encima la cuota de mantenimiento de tarjetas de crédito que no utilizamos, la mensua-lidad del gimnasio o de la academia a la que ya no acudimos, etc.

Más allá de estos pequeños ajustes, hay muchas recomendaciones que deberíamos aplicar a nuestra vida diaria durante todo el año para reducir gastos. Son estas:

- Evitar comprar con prisas y por impulso.- Hacer una lista de lo que necesitamos para com-

prar con criterio y sentido común.- Fijar un presupuesto.- Intentar no efectuar los pagos mediante tarjeta

de crédito, pues solo conseguiríamos aplazar el pro-blema de hacer frente al gasto.

Y, por encima de todo, tener claro que no ahorra-mos más por comprar aquellos productos en los que se ha aplicado un mayor descuento. El verdadero ahorro consiste en comprar lo necesario y en gastar lo menos posible.

and with common sense- Stick to a budget- Try not to pay with a credit card; you would only

delay the problem of facing the expense.And, up and above all, be aware that we don’t

save more by buying the item that has the greatest discount. The real saving is in buying what we need and wasting as little as possible.

“This workshop has brought us a trade, studying tools, techniques of job search and overall a daily routine where in addition to learning, we created a little family where we all get along”, said one of the students.

The Ayuntamiento promoted this Pottery Employ-ment Workshop through the agency of Employment and Local Development by providing the premises of the old Casa de la Cultura and Casa del Portón and by co-financing the project with Funds from the European Economic Community brought in and managed by the Canarian Employment Department.

Der Kurs dauerte ein Jahr, und die Schüler lernten ein vielseitiges Handwerk, bei dem ein so nobles Material wie Ton verwendet wird.

„In diesem Kurs haben wir ein Handwerk, Lernme-thoden und Techniken für die Arbeitssuche gelernt und vor allem eine tagtägliche Routine. Dabei haben wir nicht nur gelernt, sondern auch eine kleine Familie gegründet, in der sich alle gegenseitig unterstützten”, erzählte einer der Schüler.

Die Gemeinde hat diesen Töpferkurs für Arbeits-suchende durch ihren Dienst für Beschäftigung und örtliche Entwicklung organisiert und die Einrichtun-gen des ehemaligen Kulturzentrums und der Casa del Portón zur Verfügung gestellt. BadMInton PlayersAround a 100 badminton players and enthusiasts

from the islands of Lanzarote, Tenerife and Fuerteven-tura got together in December in Antigua’s Municipal Sport’s Hall.

Badminton is getting more popular, with increasing numbers of players participating in this venture laun-ched by the municipality’s Ayuntamiento over 9 years ago, with 32 Sports’ Schools that are still operative in the municipality of Antigua.

The Christmas Tournament welcomed the island’s selections from Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Teneri-fe, this being an appointment not to be missed in the agendas of the badminton federations, associations and schools on those islands.

Badminton is a racket sport that started being practised in the 17th century. It is believed it came from India an was presented as a novelty with the substitution of the ball by a shuttlecock, which is lighter and aerodynamic and can reach high speeds, requiring skill and agility of the player in order to respond to the adversary.

Badminton wird immer wichtiger, und die Zahl der Fans und der Sportler steigt. Vor mehr als neun Jahren nahm die Gemeinde diesen Sport in das Programm ihrer ungefähr 32 öffentlichen Sportschulen auf, die heute in Antigua funktionieren.

Am Weihnachtsturnier nahmen die Ausscheidun-gen der Inseln von Fuerteventura, Lanzarote und Te-neriffa teil. Es ist ein fester Termin im Terminkalender der Badminton-Föderationen, Vereine und Schulen dieser Inseln.

Badminton ist ein Sport, bei dem ein Schläger benutzt wird und der schon im XVII. Jahrhundert ausgeübt wurde. escenario, el pasado diciembre, de la Jornada de Puertas Abiertas de los Voluntarios de Protección Civil de Pájara.

Aparte de presentar el nuevo material de que se ha dotado al colectivo, la exhibición de los medios con que ya contaba este cuerpo de voluntarios y hacer alguna que otra demostración, se aprovechó la oca-sión para captar más personal para este equipo de personas especializado en actuar en casos de urgen-cia como complemento a la labor de los sanitarios, bomberos, policías o guardias civiles.

El Cuerpo de Voluntarios de Protección Civil de Pája-ra está compuesto por casi una veintena de personas, que han cursado con aprovechamiento formación sobre primeros auxilios, asistencia en accidentes de tráfico, actuación en caso de incendio, socorrismo acuático, intervención terrestre con helicópteros, etc.

The central street called Laurel in Morro Jable was the scene, in December, of the Open Day of the Vo-lunteer Civil Protection Officers of Pájara.

Apart from presenting the new equipment acqui-red by the association, the exhibition of the means that volunteers’ association possessed and a few demonstrations, the association took advantage of this occasion to recruit more personnel for this team of specialised officer trained to act in cases of emer-gencies as back up to the health service, fire fighters, police or Guardia civil.

The Volunteer Civil Protection officers’ team of Pájara consists of close to twenty people, who have been trained on first aid, assistance during traffic accidents, fires, aquatic rescue, terrestrial helicopter interventions, etc.

In der zentral gelegenen Straße Calle Laurel in Morro Jable fand im Dezember der Tag der offenen Tür der Freiwilligen des Zivilschutzes von Pájara statt.

Diese Gruppe von Freiwilligen präsentierte nicht nur das neue Material, das ihr zur Verfügung gestellt worden war, sondern auch die Mittel, über die sie schon vorher verfügte. Außerdem führte sie einige Darbietungen vor und nutzte die Gelegenheit, um neue Mitglieder für diese Gruppe zu finden, die da-rauf spezialisiert ist, in Notfällen einzugreifen und die Arbeit der Sanitäter, Feuerwehr, Polizisten und der Guardia Civil zu ergänzen.

Das Corps der Freiwilligen des Zivilschutzes von Pájara besteht aus ungefähr zwanzig Personen, die einen Kurs über erste Hilfe, Hilfe bei Verkehrsunfällen, Vorgehen bei Feuer, erste Hilfe zu Wasser, Eingreifen zu Lande mit Helikoptern usw. abgeschlossen haben.

Más de cincuenta agentes del Tour Operador Alltours, tercero por volumen de turistas alemanes traídos a Fuerteventura, visitaron la isla, en el marco de un ̀ Fam Trip’ organizado por Allsun (receptivo del Tour Operador en Fuerteventura) en colaboración con el Patronato de Turismo, para dar a conocer a sus participantes los encantos de la Isla.

Dentro del plan de actividades del Fam-Trip, los agentes realizaron jornadas internas y visitas por la Isla, destacando la oferta de turismo interior, museos y medioambiental, acorde con su preferencias.

Durante su estancia, tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer toda la oferta turística de Fuerteventura en un workshop (jornada de trabajo) que el Patronato de Turismo ofreció y al que asistieron con sus propios mostradores ayuntamientos y empresas de la Isla, y donde el Cabildo estuvo presente a través de un stand del Patronato de Turismo y uno propio de la Red de Museos.

Over fifty agents of the Alltours Tour Operator, third Tour Operator for the numbers of German tourists brought to Fuerteventura, visited the island, during the “Fam Trip” organised by Allsun (the Tour Operator’s agent in Fuerteventura) in collaboration with the Tourism Board, in order to get participants to discover the wonders of the island.

Within the activities organised for the Fam-Trip, agents went on days out around the island, finding out about the tourism offer inland, museums and the environment, according to their preference.

During their stay, they got the opportunity to find out all about the tourism offer in Fuerteventura in a works-hop that the Tourism Board organised for them to which the island’s Ayuntamiento’s representatives and busi-nesses took part as well as the Cabildo who was pre-sent at the Tourism Board and Museum Network stand.

Mehr als fünfzig Reiseveranstalter von Tour Opera-dor Alltours, die am drittmeisten deutsche Touristen nach Fuerteventura bringt, besuchten die Insel im Rahmen von ‚Fam Trip’, das gemeinsam von Allsun und dem Patronat für Tourismus organisiert wurden, um den Teilnehmern die Insel zu zeigen .

Die Agenten nahmen im Rahmen des Plans der Aktivitäten von Fam-Trip an Tagungen und Ausflügen auf der Insel teil, die sie je nach Vorlieben auswählen konnten und bei denen besonders viel Wert auf das touristische Angebot im Binnenland, die Museen und die Umwelt gelegt wurde.

Während ihres Aufenthaltes hatten sie die Geleg-enheit, das touristische Angebot von Fuerteventura in einem Workshop (Arbeitstag) kennen zu lernen, das vom Patronat für Tourismus angeboten wurde und an dem Gemeinden und Unternehmen der Insel mit ihren eigenen Ständen vertreten waren. Der Cabildo war durch den Stand des Patronats für Tourismus und durch den Stand seines eigenen Museumsnetzes vertreten.

Es nahmen 148 Schwimmer aller Inseln teil, unter denen sich 8 Schwimmer und Schwimmerinnen aus Fuerteventura befanden, die verschiedenen Schwi-mmclubs der Insel angehören.

cación navideña por excelencia, se desarrolla en el entorno natural del Barranco Pilón, en pleno centro de la capital majorera. Con una superficie global superior a los 10.000m2, el público, en un recorrido interactivo por el interior del Belén, podrá disfrutar de la visión de más de 50 construcciones de distintos estilos, alrededor de 100 figuras y distintos elementos móviles como molinos de agua, canales, riachuelos. Este atractivo marco se completa con la presencia de más de 50 animales vivos y plantaciones natura-les con diferentes cultivos. La luz y el sonido de la navidad están también presentes durante el amplio horario en que el Belén puede ser visitado, entre las 10 de la mañana y las 10 de la noche.

Papel Maché, corcho, materiales de construcción, efectos visuales, distintas manualidades, telas y elementos naturales..., se emplean en esta original puesta en escena que, bajo la dirección artística del escultor majorero Miguel Cubas, es continuamente revivida por multitud de personas en una visita casi obligada en estas navidades.

Este año un Mercadillo de Navidad y una oferta de atracciones mecánicas para los más pequeños ampliaron la oferta de ocio de la zona.

Once again this year, and for over ten years, this Nativity Scene by excellence, has been created in Barranco Pilón right in the centre of the Majorero Capital. With a total surface of over 10.000 m2, the in-teractive path going through the Nativity Scene offers

the public the vision of over 50 buildings of various styles, around 100 personages and various mobile items such as water mills, canals and streams. This lovely setting is completed by the presence of over 50 live animals and various plants. The Christmas lights and sounds are also present during the long opening hours of the Nativity Scene which can be visited from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Papier mâché, cork, building materials, visual effects, various handicrafts, fabrics and natural ele-ments… have been used to create this original scene which, under the artistic direction of the Majorero sculptor Miguel Cubas, is continuously relived by a multitude of people during an almost compulsory visit during Christmas.

This year a Christmas Market and many attractions for young children also complemented the leisure activities on offer.

Jahren, diese Darstellung der Weihnachtsgeschichte schlechthin statt, und zwar mitten im Barranco Pilón, im Zentrum der Hauptstadt von Fuerteventura. Die Krippe wurde auf einer mehr als 10.000 m2 Flä-che aufgebaut. Das Publikum kann sich bei einer interaktiven Tour durch die Krippe an mehr als 50 verschiedenartigen Konstruktionen, ungefähr 100 Figuren und verschiedenen beweglichen Elementen wie Wassermühlen, Kanälen und Bächen erfreuen. Diese Attraktion wird durch mehr als 50 lebendige Tieren und verschiedene Pflanzen ergänzt. Die Krippe kann von zehn Uhr morgens bis zehn Uhr abends be-sucht werden. In dieser Zeit fehlen auch die festliche Beleuchtung und die Klänge der weihnachtlichen Musik nicht.

Pappmaschee, Kork, Baumaterial, visuelle Effekte, verschiedene manuelle Arbeiten, Stoffe und natürli-che Elemente werden für diese originelle Darstellung verwendet, deren künstlerischer Leiter der aus Fuer-teventura stammende Bildhauer Miguel Cubas ist. Die Krippe wird sehr gut besucht, und man sollte es dieses Jahr nicht verpassen, sie zu besuchen.

Dieses Jahr wurde das Angebot in der Gegend durch einen Weihnachtsmarkt und zahlreiche Attraktionen für die Kleinsten ergänzt.

10.000 Bolsas eXClusIVas Para la CaMPaÑa de naVIdad en los

CoMerCIos de la CaPItalEl Ayuntamiento procedió a la distribución de

bolsas-sobre en los comercios del municipio para su utilización como atractivo envoltorio en los artí-culos que se vendieron durante las pasadas fiestas navideñas.

Fueron 10.000 sobres, de 35 x 35cm., en polipro-pileno metalizado en plata, con solapa autoadhesiva e impresos a un color por ambas caras. El llamativo sobre recogía el mensaje “en el puerto…Yo compro ¿y tú?” acompañado de la leyenda “Zonas Comerciales Abiertas”. La imagen corporativa del Ayuntamiento capitalino, de las tres zonas comerciales abiertas de la capital y del Cabildo, patrocinador de la iniciativa, completan la información reflejada en este atractivo soporte.

En principio, se hizo una distribución promocional de 50 unidades por comercio, y se invitó a los co-mercios interesados en reponer existencias en caso necesario.

CaPItal’s shoPsThe Ayuntamiento distributed bags in the

municipality’s shops to be used as attractive wrap-ping for articles purchased during this festive period. There were 10.000 bags of 35 x 35 cm, in metallic silver polypropylene, with an auto-adhesive flap and colours on both sides. The lovely bags were printed with the message “in Puerto…I buy, how about you?” as well as the subtitle “Commercial Areas Open”. The corporate image of the Capital’s Ayuntamiento, of the three commercial areas open in the Capital and of the Cabildo, that sponsored the initiative, completed the information printed on the bags.

Auf der aufsehenerregenden Tüte steht die Nachricht „ich kaufe in Puerto…und du?” Dazu kommt die Aufschrift “offene Einkaufszonen”. Hinzu kommen die Logos der Gemeinde der Haupts-tadt, der drei offenen Einkaufszonen und des Cabildo, der der Schirmherr dieser Initiative ist.

Cultural de “los estanCos”El pasado mes de diciembre se presentaron las

obras de mejora realizadas en el Centro Cultural de “Los Estancos”, vinculadas a las acciones compren-didas en el Plan de Inversión Local 2009.

La obra consistió en la ampliación del recinto social con un patio interior y un acceso independiente y la regeneración del acceso y la fachada actual por me-dio de una terminación en piedra, unificándose todo el conjunto con una cornisa de hormigón que hace de marco, englobando lo actual y lo nuevo.



PresentatIon oF IMProVeMents In “los estanCos” Cultural Centre

In December the improvement carried out in the Cultural Centre of “Los Estancos”, within the 2009 Local Investment Plan, were unveiled.

The building work consisted of extending the social area with an interior patio and independent entrance and the refurbishment of the current entrance and façade with a stone cladding finish, unifying the whole complex with a concrete cor-nice that joins the current side with the new one.

truM „los estanCos”Im Dezember wurden im Kulturzentrum „Los Es-

tancos” die Verbesserungsarbeiten präsentiert, die im Rahmen des örtlichen Investitionsplans 2009 durchgeführt worden sind.

Der Bau bestand aus einer Erweiterung des Sozialgebäudes mit einem Innenhof und einem unabhängigen Zugang. Dazu kamen die Herrichtung des Zugangs und der Fassade durch eine Arbeit aus Stein. Der gesamte Komplex wurde durch einen Betonsims vereint, der als Rahmen für das Alte und das Neue dient.

El pasado 11 de diciembre, en el Parque Félix López de Gran Tarajal, tuvo lugar el acto de encendido del alumbrado navideño de las fiestas 2009. Este año el Ayuntamiento colocó, repartidos por todos los pagos, unos 360 adornos, 120 más que el año anterior, y unas 20 unidades de mangueras, todos del tipo leds, cuyo consumo supone un 60% menos que las bombillas que se utilizaban en campañas anteriores lo que conlleva un ahorro importante en iluminación para estas fiestas.

On the 11th December the 2009 Christmas lights got switched on in Parque Félix López in Gran Tarajal. This year, the Ayuntamiento displayed 360 decora-tions, which represents 120 more than last year and about 20 LED rope lights that consume about 60% less than bulbs that were used in previous displays and therefore represents a considerable saving in the illumination budget for this festive season.

Dazu kommen ungefähr 20Li-chterketten, alle vom Typ LED, die 60% weniger Strom verbrauchen als die Birnen, die in den vorherigen Jahren verwendet worden sind, wodurch dieses Jahr die Weihnachtsbeleuchtung wesentlich billiger war.

Año tras año, durante las fiestas navideñas se suelen cometer excesos sobre todo en lo referente a la alimentación, ya que normalmente se asocian las celebraciones a comidas copiosas y muy calóricas.

Se sabe que en esta época la ingesta calórica se puede llegar a triplicar en relación con una dieta equilibrada. Con el fin de no excederse y pudiendo disfrutar igualmente de las fiestas, el Instituto de Obesidad ha diseñado este menú saludable, de pre-paración sencilla y equilibrado. De esta manera se conseguirá que los esfuerzos empleados en perder peso no haya sido en balde.

Hay que recordar que la variedad es la clave para que una alimentación sea racional y equilibrada, todos los alimentos son beneficiosos si se consumen con moderación.

MenÚ Para reyesensalada de ChaMPIÑÓn Con langostInos

Ingredientes: -400 g de champiñones-12 langostinos-12 puntas de espárragos verdes-1 tomate-Varias hojas de escarola-Hojas de lollo rosso (lechuga rizada)-2 cucharadas de aceite de oliva, vinagre,

sal y pimienta

Elaboración:Lavar la escarola y el lollo rosso.Limpiar y lavar los champiñones, laminarlos y

Menú sano para el día de Reyesescurrirlos. Colocar sobre una plancha caliente con unas gotas de aceite.

Pelar los langostinos, cortar por la mitad a lo largo y poner en la plancha.

Limpiar las puntas de espárragos y disponer sobre la plancha con unas gotas de aceite y separadas del resto de ingredientes.

Pelar el tomate, cortar en dados, sazonar y colocar en un bol. Añadir los champiñones y espolvorear con la pimienta molida. Verter un chorrito de aceite y otro de vinagre.

Colocar unas hojas de escarola en el centro de una fuente y poner alrededor las hojas de lollo rosso, servir sobre la escarola la mezcla de champiñones y tomate y disponer encima las colas de langostino y las puntas de los espárragos trigueros.

luBIna al hornoIngredientes:

-Lubinas (media por persona)-4 Tomates grandes-1 Cebolla-Limón-Vino blanco-Aceite de oliva virgen extra-Pan rallado y sal

Elaboración:Troceamos la cebolla en aros y la pochamos en la

sartén con una cucharada de aceite. A continuación, cortamos el tomate en rodajas de 1 cm. de grosor y lo asamos en la sartén (vuelta y vuelta).

En una bandeja para horno ponemos a modo de cama la cebolla y las rodajas de tomate. En las lubi-nas hacemos un par de cortes y en cada uno de ellos metemos media rodajita de limón, colocamos las lubinas sobre el tomate y rociamos con vino blanco y el zumo de medio limón, espolvoreamos la superficie de las doradas con pan rallado, perejil y sal.

Lo metemos al horno ya precalentado durante 10 minutos a 190º C, le damos la vuelta a las lubinas y volvemos a hornear 10 minutos.

Esta preparación se puede realizar con otros pes-cados como merluza, dorada, besugo…

souFFlÉ de naranjaIngredientes:

-5 naranjas grandes de tamaño similar con corteza gruesa

-30 g de mantequilla-40 g de harina -50 g de azúcar en polvo-3 claras de huevo

Elaboración:Precalentar el horno a 200º C.Rallar la corteza de una de las naranjas, exprimir

el zumo y reservarlo.Cortar a las demás naranjas una tapita que permita

vaciarlas con un cuchillo bien afilado.Exprimir la pulpa para obtener el zumo, colar y

añadir al que hemos reservado, de esta manera tendremos unos 3 dl.

Fundir la mantequilla en un cazo y remover aña-diendo la harina. Retirar el recipiente del fuego, y sin dejar de remover, añadir la ralladura, el zumo de naranja y el azúcar.

Después de espesar la salsa al fuego, retirar y dejarla enfriar. Envolver las cortezas de naranja en papel de aluminio sin cubrir la superficie abierta y colocar en 4 moldes de horno pequeño que permitan sujetar la naranja.

Montar las claras en incorporar a la salsa, coloque los moldes en una fuente de horno y rellenar las cortezas con la crema.

Hornear durante 20-25 minutos y antes de servir espolvorear con edulcorante.

Menu For kIng’s dayMushrooM and kIng PraWn salad

Ingredients: -400 g of mushrooms-12 king prawns-12 green asparagus ends-1 tomato-A few leaves of escarole lettuce -A few leaves of curly endive-2 table spoons of olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper

Preparation:Wash the salad leaves.Clean and wash the mushrooms, cut and drain

them. Put them on the plancha (griddle) with a few drops of oil.

Peel the king prawns, cut them in half along the length and put them on the plancha.

Clean the asparagus ends and put them on the plancha with a few drops of oil and keep them sepa-rated from the other ingredients.

Peel the tomato, cut it in little cubes, add seasoning and leave in a bowl. Add the mushrooms and sprinkle them with pepper. Pour a little bit of oil and vinegar on the top.

Baked sea BassIngredients:

-Sea bass (one half per person)-4 large tomatoes-1 onion-Lemon-White wine-Extra virgin olive oil-Bread crumbs and salt

spoon of oil. Then, cut the tomato in 1 cm slices and fry them quickly on both sides in the pan.

On a baking tray, make a bed of onion and tomato slices. Make a few incisions in the sea bass and put half a slice of lemon in each, put the sea bass on top of the tomatoes and pour some white wine and the

juice of half a lemon on top, then sprinkle with bread crumbs, parsley and salt.

Put it in the pre-heated oven for 10 minutes at 190ºC, turn the sea bass and put in the oven again for another 10 minutes.

This recipe can be applied to other types of fish such as hake, gilthead bream, red bream…

orange souFFlÉIngredients:

-5 large oranges with thick peels-30 g of butter-40 g of flour -50 g of sugar-3 egg whites

Preparation:Pre-heat the oven at 200º C.Grate the peel of one of the oranges, squeeze its

juice and leave aside.Cut a little hat on the top of the oranges that will

allow you to empty them with a very sharp knife. Squeeze the pulp in order to obtain the juice, drain

and then add the juice you had put aside. We should have about 3 dl of juice.

Melt the butter and add the flour and stir. Take the pan away from the heat, do not stop stirring, and add the grated orange peel, the orange juice and the sugar.

Let it thicken on the heat, then take it away from the heat and let it cool down. Wrap up the oranges in aluminium paper without covering the top and dispose them in 4 small oven dishes that can support the oranges.

MenÜ FÜr das dreIkönIgsFestChaMPIgnonsalat MIt kreVetten

Zutaten: - 400 gr. Champignons- 12 Langusten- 12 grüne Spargelköpfe- 1 Tomate- Mehrere Blätter Edivien- rote Lollo-Salatblätter-2 Löffel Olivenöl, Essig, Salz und Pfeffer

Zubereitung:Die Endivien und den roten Lollo waschen.Die Champignons putzen und waschen, platt drüc-

ken und abtropfen lassen. Mit ein paar Tropfen Öl auf ein heißes Blech legen.

Die Krevetten schälen, in der Mitte aufschneiden und auf das Blech legen.

Einige Endivienblätter in die Mitte einer Schale legen und die Blätter des roten Lollo darum herum verteilen. Die Mischung aus Champignons und Toma-ten auf den Endivien verteilen und die Krevetten und Spargelspitzen darauf geben.

geBratener seeBarsChZutaten:

-Seebarsch (einen halben pro Person)-4 großeTomaten-1 Zwiebel-Zitrone-Weißwein-Kalt gepresstes Olivenöl-Geriebenes Brot und Salz

Zubereitung:Wir schneiden die Zwiebel in Ringe und braten Sie

in einer Pfanne mit einem Löffel Öl an. Dann schnei-den wir die Tomate in cm breite Scheiben und braten sie in der Pfanne.

Wir legen die Zwiebeln und die Tomaten auf ein Ofenblech. Wir machen ein paar Schnitte in den See-barsch und tun in jeden Fisch eine Zitronenscheibe. Dann legen wir die Seebarsche auf die Tomaten, träufeln etwas Wein und Zitronensaft darüber und streuen dann etwas geriebenes Brot, Petersilie und Salz auf die Fische.

Wir geben alles in den Ofen, der auf 190º C vor-gewärmt wurde, nach 10 Minuten drehen wir die Fische um und lassen sie weitere 10 Minuten im Ofen.

Dieses Gericht kann man auch mit anderen Fischen wie Seehecht, Goldbrasse, Meerbrasse …machen.

orangensouFleeZutaten:

- 5 ungefähr gleichgroße Orangen mit dicker Schale- 30 gr. Butter- 40 gr. Mehl - 50 gr. Puderzucker- 3 Eiweiß

Zubereitung:Den Ofen auf 200º C vorwärmen.Eine Orangenschale reiben, Orange auspressen

und den Saft aufbewahren.Von den übrigen Orangen einen Deckel absch-

neiden, damit man sie mit einem scharfen Messer aushöhlen kann.

Das Fruchtfleisch auspressen, bis Saft entsteht, abseihen und den vorher gepressten Saft dazu geben. So werden wir 3 dl haben.

Die Butter in einer Stielpfanne schmelzen lassen, verrühren und dabei Mehl dazugeben. Das Gefäß vom Feuer nehmen, weiter rühren und die geriebenen Orangenschalen, den Orangensaft und den Zucker hinzufügen.

Die Sauce auf dem Feuer dick werden lassen, vom Herd nehmen und abkühlen lassen. Die Orangen in Alufolie einwickeln, aber die Oberfläche freilassen, und in vier kleine Formen tun, damit die Orangen nicht umfallen.

Das Eiweiß in die Sauce geben. Legen Sie die Formen in den Ofen und füllen Sie die Orangen mit der Creme.

20-25 Minuten im Ofen lassen, vor dem Servieren Süßstoff darüber streuen.
