All Souls Day Luminarias Remember a loved one. Honor a special person. Orders for All Souls Day luminarias are being accepted. All Souls Day Mass will be on Friday, November 1st. Sunday, October 26, is the deadline to place and guarantee orders. Luminarias will be displayed around the Rosary Walk and inside the Church. The donation is $5 per name. Order forms are available in the OLMC Bookstore, Church, and from Confirmation candidates. All proceeds benefit the Confirmation Program.

Faith Formation, 1st Communion and Confirmation Registration

Registration for Faith Formation, 1st Communion and Confirmation will be on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Those students who are making Sacraments, please bring a copy of the baptism certificates.

Confirmation Monthly Second Thursday Candidates Session The Second Thursday Candidates Session will be held on Thursday, October 10 at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall. All candidates are asked to bring a Bible, notebook, and favorite pen. Any candidates that have not taken the pre-test are asked to arrive at 6:30 PM. Monthly Second Thursday Parents Meeting All Confirmation parents are invited to attend the Second Thursday Parents Meeting on Thursday, October 10 at 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Information on activities for the month of October including All Souls Day will be discussed. Outstanding documents and payments will be accepted at that time. If the parents are not able to attend, an adult may substitute. Please do not bring small children.

It's Chocolate Time! OLMC School has started its first big fundraiser of the year by selling products from World's Finest Chocolates! These delicious pure chocolate treats can be purchased from any student or from the school office. The school receives 50% of sales as fundraising profit, so we encourage you to consider purchasing some chocolate! For more information, please visit the school or call Sophia at the school at 713-643-0676. How Can You Help? We are often asked by parishioners, parents, and others in the community about opportunities to help at OLMC School. We do have identified needs that require financial and volunteer support. What are some ways you can help? Financial - OLMC School continues to struggle financially each year, but we are working hard with goals in mind for academics and improvement of the physical plant. We are in need of additional financial resources to improve our textbooks and learning materials in all subjects. We are also in need of physical plant improvements, including exterior repair/paint, electrical wiring, computer networking, and remodeling of aging restrooms and classrooms. Prospective donors are encouraged to contact the Principal, Michael Duran, by email mduran@olmchou.org or telephone 713-643-0676 for details. Volunteer Work OLMC School continues to seek valuable members of our community to serve as members of the School Board! This volunteer position works with the Pastor and Principal to develop goals and plans for the school. Additionally, board members build and lead committees dedicated to specific tasks and needs of the school. We are also presently in need of a volunteer teacher's assistant for Early Childhood. Prior experience working with small children preferred, fluency in English needed. VIRTUS training prior to working on campus is required. School Mass & Dinner The second Saturday of each month our school celebrates Mass with the parish at the 5:00 PM Saturday Mass. Our first school Mass of the year was in September. The parish and school community enjoyed a Mexican dinner in the Parish Hall following the Mass. Mark your calendar for this month! Saturday October 12th is our next school Mass and dinner! All parishioners and school families are encouraged to attend this fellowship event. Plates are $5 for adults and $3 (10 and under). See you there!

Invitamos a todos los feligreses y a las familias de la escuela para que asistan a este evento comunitario. Los platos son a $ 5 dólares para adultos y a $ 3 dólares (niños menores de 10 años).
