La cima de la libertad no se alcanza sin

sacrificios. Es necesario haber habita-

do en el miedo y la desazón para ser

capaz de levantarse y superar las ad-

versidades. Es precisamente cuando

una quimera se torna realidad y cuan-

do se les demuestra a las dificultades

que son vencibles, cuando nuestro

espíritu se siente más libre. Desen-

corsetado de arneses y columnas. Sin

cinchas que lo ahoguen. Expresa en-

tonces un canto a la vida desde el res-

peto a la muerte. Porque no hay nada

más peligroso que estar vivo. Pero

tampoco nada tan libre.

Desde Freeda ese canto a la libertad

se hace materia. Con el telón de fondo

del mar al que todos los ríos llevan, sus

referencias a la tradición mexicana de

celebrar la muerte para obtener el

gozo en la vida son deliciosas y suger-

entes. Imprescindibles para recordar-

nos a nosotros mismos y a los demás

que la libertad se conquista. Y que el

sacrificio merece siempre la pena.

The summit of freedom cannot be reached without sacrifice. Experimenting fear and uneasiness is key to get back on your feet and overcome adversity. It is precisely when a chimera becomes a reality and when difficulties prove to be beatable that our spirit feels freer than ever. Free from harnesses and columns, and without straps holding it back. When our spirit reaches this stage, the joy of life is portrayed while respecting death. There is nothing more dangerous than being alive, but nothing will make us as free as life itself.

Freeda embodies this hymn to freedom. The sea to which all rivers lead is the backdrop of this collection. References to the Mexican tradition of celebrating death to experiment pure joy in life are exquisite and suggestive. They become essential to remind ourselves and others that freedom can be conquered and that sacrifices are always worth it.
