YOu have probably beeln informed that the Organizin9 Comnlitteeof the い/orld ttnerg y Conference has accepted our National Committeeisproposal to include my report on "lnternational Cooperation in the Frieldof Fast E3reeder Reactors'' arnon g the multinational papers to be presentedat the New Delhi Con9ress.

After recei∨ in9 an affirrllative answer from the lndian Comnlitteein their letter of Apri1 3, 1982, the President of our National Committee,卜4ro Edoardo Lomb ardi Vallauri, sent to the Committee a stJmmary of my

report which is attached herevげ ith。

As you can see, owing to the muitinational nature of thisreport, ! have indicated the Natlonal Committees, including yours, whosecollaboration i would appreciate. l would have llked to consult with yOusooner, b ut it was not possilDle seeing the time limits established by theOr9anizin9 Committeeo l hope that you will agree to cooperate with me inpreparing the report which has already been accepted by the OrganizingCommittee and which has been entrusted to me.

For this purpose l think it would be useful to submit afew subjects concerning the acti∨ ities which, in my opinion, could be theobject of further international cooperation in the field Of fast breederreactors:

e∨ aluation of the prospects of the penetration of fastinto the electric system;

the pOssitDility of a greater internationa: coll aら orationfiel d by intensitying the exchange of infOrmationperfornlance of operating units in different cOuntries;

― pOssible exte∩ sion of initiati∨ es already realized among producers ofelectricity in the European Colη munity;

l have preferred not tO mention the above subjects in thesummary of the repOrt before cOnsu!ting the 卜latiOnal Com■ littee expertsinvited to collaborate.

In the meantime, in his letter Of March 31, 1982 to M「 .

Lomb ardi Vallauri, 卜lr. Ruttley stressed the interest of the proposed

report in the foHo、′ing terms:
