Recientemente tuve la oportunidad de participar en el inicio de los festejos de los 90 años de la Asociación de Scouts de México. Personas con diferentes perfiles, con experiencia en diversos campos profesionales, pero todos con un elemento en común, su pasión por el Movimiento Scout.
Miles de scouts de México, provenientes de diversas partes del país, se dieron cita para llevar a cabo un vistoso y alegre desfile por las calles del centro de la Ciudad de México. El enorme contingente mostró a todos los transeúntes que el Movimiento Scout en México sigue vivo y que sus niños y jóvenes disfrutan de él al máximo. Los Scouts de México ratificaron así su compromiso con su país y celebraron los 90 años de haber recibido la bienvenida a la Organización Mundial del Movimiento Scout.El haber compartido estos momentos con ellos me llevó a diversas reflexiones, aquí comparto dos de ellas:1.- La importancia de mostrar a la sociedad que Movimiento Scout está vigente y más vivo que siempre; y además mostrarnos tal como somos, felices de vivir, alegres en todo momento, organizados y unidos. Los niños y jóvenes son nuestra mejor carta de presentación, ellos con su particular naturaleza, muestran sin máscara alguna que de manera voluntaria han decidido Construir un Mundo Mejor a través del Movimiento Scout. Sin embargo, la presencia de adultos no solamente muestra que somos un espacio para la convivencia intergeneracional, sino también un espacio para el voluntariado activo.2.- El Movimiento Scout proporciona el espacio adecuado para el desarrollo de la amistad, sin ser este el único valor que desarrolla. En esta experiencia percibí fuertemente que este fue el momento de encontrarse y reencontrarse con los amigos. Los abrazos y apretones de mano izquierda se veían por doquier, una atmósfera de amistad fraterna se podía respirar. Podían ser años los que nos habíamos dejado de ver, podría habernos separado la distancia o las diferencias de opinión, pero parecía que ayer era cuando estábamos conviviendo, disfrutando al mismo tiempo de este Movimiento que nos ha brindado tanto.
Felicidades a todos los Scouts de México, los de ahora y los de antes, por estos primeros 90 años de vida institucional. Gracias por hacerme parte del inicio de sus festejos.
I recently had the opportunity to participate in the beginning of the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the Scout Association of Mexico.
Thousands of Mexican Scouts, from various parts of the country, gathered to perform a colorful and cheerful parade through the streets of downtown Mexico City. The large contingent showed all pedestrians that Scouting in Mexico is still alive, and children and young people enjoy it to the fullest. Scouts of Mexico reaffirmed their commitment to their country and celebrated the 90 years of entering the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
Having shared these moments with them, it led to me several reflections. I share two of them:
1. The importance of showing society that Scouting is effective and more alive than ever; and also show ourselves as we are, happy to live, happy at all times, organized and united. Children and young people are our best presentation, they with their special nature, without any mask showing voluntarily that they decided to create a better world through Scouting. However, the presence of adults not only shows that we are a space for intergenerational living, but also a space for active volunteering.
2. The Scouting provides adequate space for the development of friendship, without being this only value that develops. In this experience I sensed strongly that this was time to meet new and reconnect with friends. Hugs and left handshakes were everywhere, you could breath an atmosphere of fraternal friendship. We could have had years withouth seeing each other, separated by the distance or differences of opinion, but it felt as if was yesterday when we were living together, while enjoying this movement that has given us so much.
Congratulations to all Scouts of Mexico, now and before, for these first 90 years of institutional life. Thanks for making me part of your beginning of your celebrations.
Por vigésima sexta ocasión los líderes de las Organizaciones Scouts Nacionales de la Región Interamericana se reunirán para celebrar lo que es la máxima asamblea de nuestra región, la Conferencia Scout Interamericana.
Cada tres años son convocados los delegados de cada OSN para asistir a la Conferencia y ahí representar a su organización. Es una reunión en la que se elige a los miembros del Comité Scout Interamericano que suplirán en sus funciones a aquellos que concluyen su término en este órgano, encargado de gobernar la Región Interamericana mientras la Conferencia no se reúna nuevamente. Se elegirán las sedes de los eventos regionales próximos, 27ª. Conferencia Scout Interamericana (en la que previamente se llevará a cabo el 6º Foro Scout Interamericano de Jóvenes), el 16º Jamboree Scout Interamericano y 3er. Camporee Scout Interamericano y el 4º Moot Scout Interamericano. Se tomarán los acuerdos (llamados resoluciones) que las OSN y el Comité propongan, para establecer la dirección que debe tomar la Región en el período que inicia en ese momento y hasta la próxima Conferencia. Y se escucharán los informes de gestión que el Comité Scout Interamericano y la Oficina Scout Mundial – Centro de Apoyo Interamérica, presenten, correspondientes al período, tanto en cuanto a actividades realizadas, avances en el plan regional y los estados financieros.
Es de vital importancia la participación de las Organizaciones Scouts Nacionales en la Conferencia, pues es la oportunidad de recibir información importante, de preguntar sobre ella, de elegir a las autoridades que darán dirección a la Región de acuerdo con los lineamientos que la misma Conferencia establezca y de proponer resoluciones que lleven a tomar acciones que fortalezcan el desarrollo de la Región.
En una organización de carácter global, como es la OMMS, no se puede estar aislado y dejar que las cosas sucedan sin tomar en ellas acción. Debemos remar todos en la misma dirección y estar unidos para llegar a más y más jóvenes en toda la Región.
For the twenty sixth time the leaders of National Scout Organizations of the Interamerican Region will meet to celebrate the greatest assembly of our region, the I n t e r a m e r i c a n Scout Conference.
Every three years delegates from each NSO are convened to attend the Conference and represent their organization. It is a meeting in which members of the Interamerican Scout Committee will replace in its duties to those who conclude their term in this body; which is the chosen body commissioned to govern the Interamerican Region while the Conference do not meet again. The venues of the next regional events will be elected: the 27th Interamerican Scout Conference (which previously was held on 6th Interamerican Scout Youth Forum), the 16th Interamerican Scout Jamboree and 3rd. Interamerican Scout Camporee, and the 4th Interamerican Scout Moot. Agreements (called resolutions) that NSOs and the Committee propose to establish the direction of the region during period that begining from this moment up to the next Conference will be taken place. The management reports of the Interamerican Scout Committee and the World Scout Bureau - Interamerica Support Centre, will be listen for the current period, containing undartaken activities, developments in the regional plan and financial statements.
It is vital the participation of National Scout Organizations in the Conference, it is the opportunity to receive important information, to ask about it, to elect the authorities that will address the region in accordance with the guidelines that the same Conference sets and to propose resolutions leading to take actions to strengthen the development of the region.
In an organization of a global nature, such as WOSM, we can not be isolated and let things happen without taking action on them. We have to row in the same direction and be united to reach more and more young people throughout the region.

Educación no formal” es la expresión que utilizamos para otorgarle una categoría al Movimiento Scout en el ámbito de la educación, en nuestro país y en el mundo.
A fin de asignarle a la formación de sus educadores un lugar académico formal,SAAC comenzó a soñar hace varios años la posibilidad de que la capacitación que se brinda a nuestros adultos tuviese el reconocimiento, valoración y difusión que merece y pudiese ser adquirida por quienes lo deseen dentro y fuera del Movimiento.
Un gran avance se consiguió el jueves 28 de abril, en la Oficina Nacional de SAAC. Se llevó a cabo una reunión para ajustar los detalles acerca de la organización de la “Diplomatura Universitaria en Educación no Formal”, aprobada y gestionada por el Consejo Directivo de la asociación, con la firma de un acuerdo marco con la Universidad Católica de Santiago del Estero.
El encuentro contó con la presencia de la Decana de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad Católica de Santiago del Estero, Lic. María Rosa Barbaran, y nuestro Director Ejecutivo, Juan Manuel Salvado. También participaron de la reunión en esta oportunidad, como parte del equipo de asesoría académica, la Lic. Isabel Amor y la Prof. Mónica Leiva.
Sin dudas es un nuevo paso hacia la realización de un sueño que prestigiará a la Organización, y brindará la posibilidad académica a nuestros miembros y estudiantes en general de conocer nuestros valores educativos. Daremos así un paso más en el cumplimiento de nuestra Misión.
Nonformal education” is the term we use to give Scouting a category in the field of education, in our country and the world.
To assign a formal academic place to the the training of its educators, the Scout Association of Argentina dreamed for several years about the possibility to have the recognition, value and dissemination of the training given to its adults, as it deserves,
and that this could be acquired by those who wish to, both within
and outside the Movement.
On Thursday, April 28, they achieved a breakthrough at the National HQ of the Association. A meeting was held to adjust the details about the organization of the “University Diploma in
Non-Formal Education” approved and managed by
the Board of the association, with the signing of a framework
agreement with the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Education of the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero, Maria Rosa Barbaran, and our Executive Director, Juan Manuel Salvado. Also participating in this meeting, as part of the academic advisory team, Isabel Amor and Prof. Monica Leiva.
It’s clearly a step further towards the realization of a dream that gives prestige to the Organization, and provides an academic posibility to our members and students in general to know our educational values. So we will take a step forward towards fulfilling our mission.

Material de apoyo de acciones contra
Hace unos días fue enviado a un representante de cada OSN una serie de documentos que podrán ayudar a realizar o apoyar al desarrollo acciones contra el bullying.
Estos documentos van dentro de las acciones de la resolución aprobada en nuestra XXV Conferencia Scout Interamericana, la cual busca “desarrollar herramientas de apoyo para las Organizaciones Scout Nacionales (OSN), para la promoción de los Derechos Humanos, enfatizando la prevención del bullying”. Los documentos que fueron enviados en esta última oportunidad son: Los cómics “Atrapado” y “Rescate”, la guía “Siendo Humano” donde se explican las actividades a desarrollar tanto con estos cómics como con otros recursos, la “Guía para Padres” y un “Fact Sheet” describiendo qué es el bullying.
El proceso de elaboración de estos documentos se dio gracias al trabajo en conjunto realizado con Scouts de Irlanda, el cual inició en el año 2012.
El desarrollo y diseño del material fue desarrollado por Colm Kavanagh Fundación Scout Mundial - Mensajeros de la Paz (Gerente de Desarrollo de Programas del Movimiento Scout de Irlanda), las ilustraciones fue-ron hechas por - Maurice Pierse y los mismos se basaron en la investigación de tesis de maestría hecha por Jesús Arenas, miembro del equipo de trabajo del Centro de Apoyo Interamerica, donde abordó la temática de violencia entre pares.
A la vez que hacemos llegar esta documentación a todas las Organizaciones Scout Nacionales miembros de la Región Interamericana no podemos dejar de lado el enorme apoyo incondicional y agradecimiento a Alfredo Musse, Comisionado Nacional de Comunicaciones de Scouts Perú, quien fuera el encargado de realizar las adaptaciones de los textos originales para uso y difusión en cada uno de nuestras OSN, lo que demuestra el valioso recurso que son los voluntarios en nuestras tareas diarias. De parte de todo el equipo de la Oficina Scout Mundial- Centro de Apoyo Interamerica, un grande y caluroso abrazo y un fuerte apretón de mano izquierda.
A few days ago was sent to a representative of each NSO a series of documents that may help you in making or development process of your own actions against bullying.
These documents are framed within the actions of the resolution adopted by our XXV Interamerican Scout Conference, which seeks to “develop tools to support National Scout Organizations (NSOs), for the promotion of human rights, emphasizing the prevention of bullying.”
The documents that were sent in this last opportunity are: Comics “Trapped” and “Rescue”, the guide “Being Human”, where are explained the activities to be developed using the comics among other resources, a “Parents Guide” and a “Fact Sheet”, where briefly is described what is bullying.
The elaboration process of these docu-ments was given thanks to the team work done with Scouts of Ireland, which began in 2012.
The development and design of the material was developed by Colm Kavanagh World Scout Foundation - Messengers of Pea-ce (Scouting Ireland Programme Development Manager), the illus-trations were made by - Maurice Pierse and the same were based on the master’s thesis research
done by Jesus Arenas, member of the Inte-ramerica Support Centre staff where he addressed the issue of peer violence.
While we send this documentation to all the National Scout Organizations members of the Interamerican Region we can not ignore the enormous and unconditional support from Alfredo Musse, National Commissioner of Communications from Scouts Peru, who was in charge of making the adaptations to the texts original for use and dissemination in each of our NSOs, which demonstrates the valuable resource that are the volunteers in our daily basis, from the whole team from World Scout Bureau - Interamerica Support Center, our warmest hug and a strongest left hand grip.

¿Conoces a Do you know
En una gran ciudad, muy parecida a la tuya, en la Avenida Federico Guardia, vivía un niño amante y respetuoso de la naturaleza, él entendió desde muy pequeño que nuestro mundo enferma así como enfermamos los seres humanos que en él habitamos; pero no porque hayan sido creado con fallas, no no no...nuestro mundo, tú y yo, mejor corrijo, toda la humanidad, somos la creación más maravillosa que pueda existir; sino porque generación tras generación cometemos los mismos errores en contra de nuestra naturaleza humana y en consecuencia, y también al revés, en contra de la naturaleza que nos cobija.
Pero volvamos por favor al niño...bueno, él disfrutaba cuidar de la naturaleza que lo rodeaba, se admiraba de todo, se cuestionaba todo pero sobretodo actuaba en base a ese todo que en sus 9 años de vida había asimilado en su mente y corazón. Nuestro niño se llama Johny, él no tenía apellido porque ningún apellido rimaba con su ser, y si utilizaba el de su preferencia, los adultos no lograrían entenderlo, sólo sus padres lo harían, fueron ellos quienes supieron cómo formarlo con ejemplo, amor, sabiduría y mucho sentido común, un espíritu verde.
Sus padres le enseñaron a maravillarse de las maravillas entendiendo el lenguaje secreto que hay a nuestro alrededor. Johny cuidaba todo lo que veía en su camino, cuidada las plantas, los árboles, las flores, las frutas y el agua; poco a poco logró convertir su hogar en un hogar también verde.
Te enseñaré cómo era su hogar verde: tenían un hermoso jardín donde podías deleitarte con camarones amarillos y rojos, pino hindú, gingers rojos y rosados, palmas rojas, palmas cubanas, banderas españolas e isoras, en el jardín revoloteaban y anidaban cocochitas, ruiseñores, golondrinas y también talingos; el jardín no sólo proveía belleza a aquel hogar sino que también había un rincón de producción para el consumo, Siii...así mismo, allí se cosechaba ají, tomate, pepino, berenjena, moringa...¿te imaginas los manjares que servían en aquella mesa? El aceite de cocina utilizado se almacenaba en una botella plástica que una vez llena se desechaba bien cerrada, lo mismo se hacía con las baterías utilizadas; la basura orgánica
se desechaba diferente a la común, la primera es alimento para los habitantes del jardín; el agua y la luz eran utilizados con mesura; había en aquella casa adornos hechos con madera, semillas de pino, cajas de huevo vacías, cd´s desechados, piedras; los jarrones de vidrio transparente contenían, además de las flores del jardín, hermosas conchas de mar y raras piedras de río. ¿Te has imaginado aquella casa?
Debo mencionarte que Johny tenía un secreto, él tenía un amigo imaginario llamado Pepe, Pepe era una voz que lo alentaba a crear nuevas ideas:
- Dime Pepe, ¿cómo hago para que sean más los hogares como el mío? - Johny, debes educar a otros niños, debes enseñar a tus compañeros de escuela y tus amigos Lobatos.- Pero, eso no es fácil para un niño?- Pero no es difícil tampoco, sólo hay que convencer a los adultos Johny, y nosotros los niños somos muy buenos en eso, cierto?- Tienes razón, creo que podemos empezar con mis compañeros de grado, sería muy bueno sembrar robles en mi escuela, ellos son árboles frondosos, con los años atraería a mis hijos a merendar bajo su sombra. Voy a conversar con mi maestro mañana.- Me parece que es una gran idea. También puedes conversar con Akela para sembrar en los parques de la comunidad.
Y así fue, luego de dos semanas había un proyecto de siembra de robles en la escuela y en los parques aledaños!!! Lo mejor es que mientras se sembraba, muchos niños escucharon a Johny platicar sobre su hogar verde y quisieron también que fuera verde el suyo!!!
Ya te imaginarás lo que vino después, Johny y Pepe tenían un grupo de niños con hogares verdes y con ideas geniales. No puedo escribir una palabra que contenga lo que había en sus corazones, pero cada vez que veían un árbol, éste les sonreía.
¿Te animas con tu amigo imaginario a convertir tu hogar a verde? ¿Que no tienes un amigo imaginario?, Creo que sólo lo has olvidado o simplemente dejaste de escucharlo, háblale, estoy seguro que él te responderá a tu corazón
Pasaron los años, Johny creció y ahora tiene dos hijos que meriendan en la escuela bajo uno de los árboles de roble, viven en un hogar verde y se apellidan Green!!! Fin!
In a big city, very much like yours, in the Federico Guardia avenue, a loving and nature respectful boy lived, he understood since a very young age that our world could get sick as humans who inhabit it do; but not because our world has been created with flaws, no no no ... our world, you and I bet-ter correcting, all mankind are the most wonderful creation that may ever exist; but due generation after generation make the same mistakes against our human nature and therefore also against nature that shelters us.
But back please lets go back to the child ... well, he enjoyed taking care of nature around him, he admired all, questioned everything but he acted accordinly of what he had absorbed in his mind and heart in his 9 years of life.
Our child is called Johny, he had no last name because no none rhymed with his being, and if used the one his preference, adults would not understand, only their parents could. It was them who knew how to educate him by example, love, wisdom and common sense, and green spirit.
His parents taught him to marvel at the wonders understanding the secret language that is around us. Johny took care of everything he saw on his way, took care of the plants, trees, flowers, fruits and water; gradually he managed to turn his home into a green home also.
I’ll show you how was his green home: it had a beautiful garden where you could delight with yellow and red shrimp, Indian pine, red and pink gingers, red palms, Cuban palms, Spanish flags and isoras in the garden flitting and roosted cocochitas, nightingales, swallows and talingos; the garden not only provided beauty at home but also had a cultivation corner , yeah ... also, there pepper, tomato, cucumber, eggplant, and moringa... can you imagine the delicacies served in that table? Used cooking oil was stored in a plastic bottle filled once discarded properly closed, as was done with used batteries; discarded organic waste is different from the common, the first is the food for the inhabitants of the garden; water and light were used sparingly; in that house ornaments made of wood, pine seeds, empty egg boxes, cd’s discarded
and stones; clear glass vases containing, in addition to the garden flowers, beautiful sea shells and rare stones river. Have you ever imagined that house?
I should mention that Johnny had a secret, he had an imaginary friend named Pepe, Pepe was a voice that encouraged him to create new ideas:
- Tell me Pepe, how do I get more homes like mine? - Johny, you must educate other children, you teach your classmates and your cub Scout friends. - But that’s not easy for a child? - But it is not difficult either, just convince Johny adults, children and we are very good at that, right? - You’re right, I think we can start with my classmates, would be very good to plant oaks in my school, they are leafy trees, over the years would bring my children to lunch in his shadow. I’ll talk to my teacher tomorrow. - I think it’s a great idea. You can also talk to Akela to plant some others in community parks.
And so, after two weeks there was an oak planting project at school and in the surrounding parks !!! And the best part is that while planting, many children listened to Johny ideas about his green home and also wanted to go green in their!!!
You can imagine what came next, Johny and Pepe had a group of children with green homes and great ideas. I can not write a word containing what was in their hearts, but whenever they saw a tree, it smiled them back.
Would you dare with your imaginary friend to turn your home green? You do not have an imaginary friend ?, I think you’ve just forgotten or simply do not listen anymore, speak him or her, I’m sure he or she will respond to your heart.
Years passed, Johnny grew and now has two children that take their snacks at school under one of the oak trees, living in a green home and with their last name Green !!!!

Diálogo en el Movimiento Scout
Por lo general cuando atiendo a un curso, suelo leer varias teorías al respecto antes para poder llevar una idea desarrollada al respecto. En esta ocasión, al asistir al Curso de Diálogo organizado en los días del 18 al 22 de julio en Viena, en la sede de KAECIID. Como es un tema del cuál de alguna manera empírica creía que manejaba, realmente no me esforcé tanto para aprender o encontrar nuevas ideas, leí el material previo que nos enviaron y ¡listo!, en mi mente estaba completa mi investigación previa.
Diálogo es entendimiento. Es que las partes involucradas entiendan el porqué de cada una. Y los scouts ya lo hacemos en nuestra propuesta educativa, un ejemplo de ello son los Jamborees en donde los scouts de todas partes del mundo se reúnen para compartir. Y es allí en donde una de mis percepciones estaba errada, antes del curso pensaba que el diálogo sólo ocurre cuando se llegue a un común acuerdo, es decir, siempre el ejercicio lo había realizado para llegar a eso mismo. Cuando en realidad el diálogo es simplemente entenderme, entenderte, ni siquiera significa que tengamos que estar de acuerdo. Simplemente es fluir.La importancia del diálogo en el Movimiento Scout y en la Región Interamericana se encuentra plasmada en varios objetivos educativos que utilizamos como una de las bases del programa de jóvenes, pero ¿Cómo lo podemos llevar a la práctica en nuestras actividades semanales?Es muy sencillo, desde realizar con frecuencia diálogos sobre tópicos de 30 minutos sobre diferentes temas, tal vez una actividad de danza interpretativa en donde a través de los movimientos puedan expresar sus sentimientos, campamentos entre grupos para conocer realidades distintas. El primer paso es informarnos y comprender el concepto de diálogo, luego interiorizarlo, una vez comprendido, las actividades fluirán y así volvernos agentes de cambio en nuestras comunidades.
Usually when I attend a course, I review several theories, before going, about it to have a concrete idea about the topic. On this occasion, the course of Dialogue held Vienna during the days of 18th to 22th of July, at the headquarters of KAECIID. Since I thought that in an empiric way I knew about the topic, I did not do much effort to find new theories or ideas about it, I just read the previous material sent to us and done! in my mind my previous investigation was complete.
Dialogue is understanding. It is that the parties involved understand why for each of them.
And Scouts already do it, in our educational proposal; an example
is the Jamboree where Scouts from all over the world gather to share. And it is my perception was wrong, before the course I thought the dialogue only happens when you reach a common agreement,
up to know I always have made it to reach it. When
in fact the dialogue is simply understand myself, understand
you, and not even represents to reach a common idea. Is simply to flow.
The importance of dialogue in Scouting and the Interamerican Region is embodied in various educational objectives that we use as a basis the Youth Programme, but how we can implement it in our weekly activities?
It’s simple, from organizing a 30 minute dialogue on one or different topics, perhaps an activity where interpretive dance moves is used to express the scouts feelings, camping between two groups to meet different realities. The first step is to inform us and understand the concept of dialogue, then internalize it, once understood, activities will flow and that way we can become agents of change in our communities.

La Diversidad e inclusión no es un tema nuevo en el Movimiento Scout. Desde sus inicios, Badden Powell adoptó su porpuesta para poder llegar a los Jóvenes de todos los estratos sociales. Aunado a lo anterior, el Movimiento Scout es un Movimiento que posee una metodología propia que lleva de manera natural a la inclusión; sin embargo, se necesita una clara disposición institucional para lograrlo en la práctica.
D iversity and inclusion is not a new topic in the Scout Movement. Since its inception, Badden Powell adapted its proposal to reach youmg people from all social strata. In addition to this, Scouting is a Movement that has its own methodology which naturally leads to the inclusion; however, a clear institutional arragament to achive it in practice is needed.

Unos 600 scouts salvadoreños participaron en el festi-val antidrogas organizado por la Policía Nacional Civil.Los scouts siempre estamos listos para servir, pero también para correr. Y así lo demostramos este domingo 26 de junio al participar en el Tercer Festival Atlético “Yo vivo sin drogas, tú decides”, organizado por la Policía Nacional Civil de El Salvador.
Y llegó la hora del pistoletazo inicial. El encargado de darlo fue el ministro de Justicia y Seguridad Pública, Mauricio Ramírez Landaverde, quien se hizo acompañar en el evento por otras autoridades como la embajadora de Estados Unidos en El Salvador, Jean Manes, así como el presidente del Instituto Nacional de los Deportes, Jorge Quezada.
El punto de meta permitió observar imágenes conmovedoras. Desde los pequeños lobatos que con gran esfuerzo completaron la misión, pasando por familias completas que corrieron con sus integrantes tomados de las manos, hasta llegar a las personas con discapacidad, muchos de ellos guatemaltecos y quienes, sobre el asfalto, dejaron en evidencia que para ellos no hay limitantes para cumplir sus sueños.
Terminada la carrera y luego que todos y cada uno de los participantes recibiera su respectiva medalla de participación por parte de los alumnos de la Academia Nacional de Seguridad Pública, los scouts volvimos a entrar en acción.La misión era mostrar un poco de las actividades que forman parte de nuestro método educativo a los niños y a adolescentes que participaron en el festival, en un esfuerzo también por aumentar la membresía de la Asociación de Scouts de El Salvador.
Y así, entre aro maya, cazando reses, salta cuerdas, pañuelo en combate y con los coleccionistas scouts mostrando sus insignias del recuerdo, la mañana se diluyó al compás de un grupo de pop en español y la demostración de bodypaint de un conglomerado de jóvenes danzantes.
“Para los scouts es un honor que nos permitan participar en este tipo de eventos y así concientizar a los jóvenes que el uso de drogas no es sano para nadie y que se puede contrarrestar con el deporte”, enfatizó Plinio Ramírez, Director de Apoyo al Movimiento Scout y Administración de la Asociación de Scouts de El Salvador.
La embajadora estadounidense en El Salvador, Jean Manes, por su parte escribió en Twitter: “satisfecha de haber participado en carrera #yovivosindrogas de @PNC_SV. ¡Que bueno ver a tantos salvadoreños unidos!
About 600 Salvadorians participated in the antidrug festival organized by the National Civil Policy. As scouts we are always prepared to serve, but also to run. And so we showed on Sunday 26th of June while participating in the Third Athletic Festival “Yo vivo sin drogas, tú decides” (english translation will be I live without drugs, you decide), organized by El Salvador´s National Civil Police.
And it was time for the initial kick. The person commissioned to deliver it was the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Mauricio Ramirez Landaverde, who was accompanied at the event by other authorities such as the US ambassador in El Salvador, Jean Manes, as well as the president of the National Institute of Sports, Jorge Quezada.
The goal allowed the observation of some moving images. From small cubs that with great effort completed the mission, to entire families who ran with their members holding hands, people with disabilities, many of them Guatemalan and who, on the asphalt, made it clear that they had no limit to fulfill their dreams.
After the race ended and that every one of the participants received their respective participation medal by students of the National Academy of Public Security, the scouts returned to action.
The mission was to show some of the activities that are part of our educational method to children and adolescents who participated in the festival, in an effort also to increase the membership of the Scout Association of El Salvador.
And so, between Mayan hoop, hunting cattle, jump ropes, handkerchief combat and some scouts collectors showing their badges of memories. The morning was diluted to the beat of a pop group in Spanish and demonstration of bodypaint a cluster of young dancers.
“For the scouts is an honor that to let us participate in these events, by raising awareness among young people that the use of drugs is not healthy for anyone and can be counteracted with the sport,” said Plinio Ramirez, Director of Support to Scouting and Magement of the Scout Association of El Salvador.
US Ambassador in El Salvador, Jean Manes, meanwhile tweeted: “pleased to have participated in #yovivosindrogas @PNC_SV career. How good to see so many Salvadorans united!

En días pasados fue entregada esta medalla a Ralf Dillmann, quien se desempeñó como Director de Adultos en el Movimiento Scout en la Oficina Scout Mundial- Centro de Apoyo Interamérica desde enero de 2012. Ralf dejó el cargo que tan profesionalmente desempeñaba por motivos familiares y es por ello que antes de partir de la Oficina Regional, en una sencilla pero emotiva ceremonia le fue entregada esta medalla, reconociendo sus aportes al desarrollo de los modelos de Gestión de Adultos en el Movimiento Scout, no solo en la Región Interamericana sino a nivel mundial.
De esta manera el equipo profesional de la Oficina Scout Mundial – Centro de Apoyo Interamérica agradeció a Ralf su fuerte y constante trabajo.
G ratitude is one of the values constantly promoted in Scouting. We are grateful to every person who supports the development of Scouting through concrete action, which not only fills the person receiving the recognition of his or her generosity, but who gives the heartfelt thanks. Recently created the medal Salvador Fernandez Beltrán, in the Interamerican Scout Region, who was the first Regional Director of our Regional Office, now called Interamerica Support Center destined to recognize those in our region who have contributed significantly to the regional office making specific and concrete contributions. In recent days this medal was granted to Ralf Dillmann, who served as Director of Adults in Scouting in the Interamerica Support Centre since January 2012. Ralf who left the office as professional for family reasons and before leaving, in a simple but moving ceremony he was given this award, recognizing his contributions to the development of management models for Adults in Scouting, not only in Interamerica region but worldwide. In this way the professional team of the World Scout Bureau - Inter-America Support Centre, recognized Ralf his constant and strong work.

Agradecer a cada persona que apoya el desarrollo del Movimiento Scout a través de acciones concretas es una acción que no solo llena a quien recibe el reconocimiento a su generosidad sino a quien agradece de corazón.
En la Región Scout Interamericana fue creado recientemente la medalla Salvador Fernández Beltrán, quien fuera el primer Director Regional de nuestra Oficina Regional, hoy llamada Centro de Apoyo Interamérica para reconocer a aquellas personas de nuestra región que han contribuido significativamente con la Oficina regional haciendo aportes específicos y concretos.
