baccalaureate degree, to meet

the minimum academicrequirements for the Didactic

Program in Dietetics,

accredited by ACEND.

Verification Statement

The form completed by an

ACEND program director,indicating that a student or

intern has successfully fulfilled

the requirements for

completion of the program inaccordance with institutional,

CDR and ACEND policies.



Declarat ion of In tent (DI): Lo solicitan solamente los estudiantes candidatos a graduación en

Mayo 2016.

Se prepara en el Programa de Nutrición y Dietética una vez elRegistrador somete las notas del primer semestre en el sistema.

Se notifica a los estudiantes para que pasen a recogerlos en laoficina.

Ver i fi cat ion Statement (VS): Lo reciben los estudiantes que tienen el grado o lo obtendrán

durante el año académico 2015-2016. El estudiante es elegible, una vez el Registrador otorgue el grado.

El estudiante debe asegurarse que el DPD recibe la transcripciónoficial con grado o la Certificación Oficial de Grado.

Se notifica a los estudiantes para que pasen a recoger el VS en laoficina.

Solicitar carta a dos profesores y un empleador.

Leer el formulario para identificar la persona mas idónea que pueda

preparales la carta.

Comunicarse con el profesor o empleador ANTES de

proveerle los documentos para la carta de recomendación. Corroborar el medio de trámite:

Por correo postal, correo electrónico o entregada a la mano

Qué información necesitan para completar la carta.

Entregar el formulario a la persona que hará la carta Debe estar firmado por el solicitante y con su información en la primera

página.

Incluir un resumé.

Destacar alguna información personal que le caracteriza y que no pueda

ser evidente en el salón de clases o en el área de trabajo.

Competition for Dietetic Internships is extremely fierce, so try to getas much information as possible to improve your chances at gettingthe internship experiences required to sit for the RD exam:

The first place to go for a wealth of information is your DPD program director and DPD Assistant. They are on the front line,helping students decide where to apply, navigate the application

process and deal with computer matching.

We encourage you to learn about as many DI programs as youcan to understand what is available and to refine your area ofinterest.

Some DI programs schedule open houses for students, so besure to ask them if this is an option.







Make sure that you r GPA is above the min imum required b y theinternship , the higher the better.

Although GPA is not the only factor considered by directors, it is one of themost highly weighted.

A GPA of 3.0 (B) is often listed as the minimum considered by most DI programs; however, remember that this is only a min imum . So, if given achoice between a 3.0 or a 3.8 GPA, chances are that the applicant with3.8 GPA will be selected.

If yo ur GPA is no t com peti tive (i.e., low or close to the minimumrequired), consider retaking courses to bring it up to the highest possiblelevel.

If your GPA is below what is required by the internship, it is very unlikelythat you will be given a placement.

APPLICATION PHASE1. December 1, 2015 – Register and complete the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Services

(DICAS) on-line application ($45.00 fee) www-dnddigi tal .com

2. December 9, 2015 – DICAS application opens to allow applicants to begin the process

3. February 15, 2015 - Register on D&D Digital website, pay $50.00 fee with a credit card and submit the

prioritized list of selected dietetic internships online to D&D Digital before the designated deadline dates.Call D&D Digital prior to the deadline if an e-mail with login information is not received.

4. Request reference or recommendation letters from advisor/faculty/employers

5. Order official transcripts as needed to submit to DICAS and internships not using DICAS.

6.

Complete DI application according to instructions and submit the materials to the DI director by the deadlinedate. Questions, to the DI Director or your DPD Director, not Academy staff.

7. Provide telephone number(s) and email address with applications to be reached on Appointment Day.

8. Send all materials before the postmark deadline and by receipted mail for proof of mailing date and delivery.

Enclose a self-addressed stamped postcard if you want to be notified of receipt of the DI application.

9. If you do not receive a match, you must register with D&D Digital and reapply to internship by the withdrawaldeadline date for each Spring and Fall computer matching period.

COMPUTER MATCHING PHASE

1. Applicants are responsible for notifying D&D Digital, in

writing, of a decision to withdraw from the matching processif circumstances will prevent them from accepting a match

that may occur.

2. Applicants are responsible for telephoning D&D Digital if theycannot access the D&D Digital Internet site to view their

personal matching results on Notification Day.

APPOINTMENT PHASE

1. Applicants who receive a computer match DI appointment

are responsible for accepting or rejecting the match bytelephone or email by 6:00 pm (of the program’s time zone)

on Appointment Day.

2. Applicants who submitted a Declaration of Intent form withtheir DI applications must obtain a signed Verification

Statement from their DPD Program Director and official

transcript documenting completion of the bachelor’s degree

before they may begin the DI.
