THANK YOU to the hundreds
of IHM households who made
pledges to the 2016 Archbish-
op’s Annual Appeal over the
last weeks!
100% OF THE FUNDS re-
ceived over our parish goal will
return to us here at IHM without
any assessment from the Archdiocese. That means that every dollar given to the AAA
is worth about $1.30 in money contributed to the Sunday offertory! Your gift helps
the Archdiocese and our parish!
IF YOU HAVE NOT YET made your pledge to the 2016 AAA, please do so soon.
To make your pledge online, simply go to http://appeal.archatl.com. Please be sure to
choose IHM as your designated parish!
May 22 Offertory: $18,179.00
Electronic Offertory: $18,630.54
Total: $36,809.54
This weekend’s second collection will go
to our IHM Debt Reduction Fund. All
contributions to this fund will go toward
accelerating the retirement of our parish
debt. Thank you for your generosity!
Next weekend’s second collection will
also go to our IHM Debt Reduction Fund.
Establish your own endowment fund: It only takes $5,000 to
establish an endowment fund to benefit your parish or favorite
ministry. Once the fund reaches $25,000, it will be eligible to
provide annual distributions to the designated parish or ministry.
Others can give to this endowment which will help it grow faster. A
named endowment could also be started by the men or women’s
club at church or the Knights of Columbus. For more information
on creating an endowment fund please contact Juliet Greco at the
Catholic Foundation: [email protected] or 404-497-9440.
We recently learned that Archbishop Gregory has assigned Father Bill Hao as paro-
chial vicar at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek, effective July 1. From that
new assignment he will continue his leadership of the Holy Name of Jesus Chinese
Catholic Mission as its first administrator.
We will send him to his new assignment with a reception in his honor on Saturday,
June 18, 5:00-7:00 p.m., in the Historic Church. Please come help us offer Father Bill
our gratitude and affection.
THANK YOU Thank you to everyone who attended the
Pentecost International Potluck Supper, to the
cooks who prepared the more than 60 dishes
from 25 different world cultures. Special
thanks to the RCIA community who hosted
the dinner. “We, though many, are one body
in Christ” (1 Cor 10:17).

parks, behind alleys, in the woods and those that have found a place in the
battered women, children and men shelters. If you have any questions about
this community service project or about Lady T please contact Troop Leader

IHM PASTORAL COUNCIL THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL is the consultative body that advis-
es the pastor in planning and sustaining the pastoral life of the parish. The
twelve councilors meet six times a year on Monday evenings with Monsignor
Jowdy. Each summer four new councilors are selected to serve 3-year terms. If
you may be interested in serving your parish community in this way, please see
the Pastoral Council materials in the literature rack in the church narthex or at
the parish office in the Maloney Center.
God of power and mercy,
you destroy war and put down earthly pride.
Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears,
that we may all deserve to be called your sons and daughters.
Keep in your mercy those men and women
who have died in the cause of freedom
and bring them safely
into your kingdom of justice and peace.
We ask this though Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
