Long-Term Gas Consumption Forecasts
Latest European gas-consumption scenarios and forecasts
The list of European countries differs only insignificantly from the forecasting companies.
For purposes of comparison, all forecasts and scenarios have been calculated based on annual averages.
The lower number of scenarios and forecasts is the result of omitting outdated information in our calculations.

Our firm believe: natural gas is the best
fuel!
Clean
25% less CO2- and 75% less
CO-Emissions compared to petrol
Practically no particulate matter and no
filters or additives (AdBlue) required
Use of bio-methane reduces CO2-
emissions even further
Safe
Crash-Tests prove that natural
gas vehicles are as safe as
conventional vehicles
Natural gas available longer than oil
Quiet
Natural gas engines significantly
reduce noise emissions and
make 24/7 operations possible
Proven and economic
Already today many operators
run trucks and buses on CNG
Storing natural gas as LNG provides
even wider driving range
Economically attractive alternative to
comply with environmental regulation

and LNG as fuel for light, medium and heavy-duty road transport (CO2, NOx, particulate
matter)
Automotive industry investing in CNG and LNGmodels to achieve EU-imposed average CO2-
fleet targets (120g CO2/km by 2015 and 95gCO2/km by 2020)
Furthermore: Sulphur Emission Control Areas
(SECA from 2015 in Baltic & North Sea) drive

GAZPROM objectives for Germany
19
Provide sustainable
supply of natural gas
Establish own
presence for CNG/
LNG
Engage in long-term
partnerships
Provide sustainable supply of Russian natural gas to the
transportation sector (CNG / LNG)
Develop own presence of natural gas filling stations for
CNG and LNG in areas of high demand
Assess opportunities for investments in CNG and/or LNG
filling station infrastructure projects in cooperation with
automotive manufacturers and clients
Attract economical and political interest for development
of alternative fuel projects in Europe
Liaise with potential clients interested in lowering
operating cost whilst at the same time fulfilling
environmental objectives

20
Further support from government and policy
makers needed to accelerate the development
20
Prolong beneficial
tax regime
Energy Pricing
Transparency
Continue energy tax relief on natural gas as motor fuel
and due to its superior environmental benefits and
compatibility with bio-methane differentiate it from LPG
(liquefied petroleum gas)
Expand targets for NGVs in the transportation sector and
introduce supporting measures:
E.g. state prices of the different fuels at filling
stations on a uniform reference basis, establishing
consumer-friendly energy pricing transparency
