Smoke extraction damper ETER TECHNICAL DATA
ETER Smoke extraction damper
ETER smoke extraction damper is intended to extract ue gases and to reducepressure in the ventilation ducts or re separating compartments. The objec-tive is to considerably restrict the spread of smoke through re compartmentsand to facilitate evacuation and/or re ghting. The damper is inserted intoventilation duct or into a smoke extraction duct that is common to all re com-partments, or it can be used as an air terminal device that leads any existingsmoke outside. The extraction of gases/reduction of pressure can be intensi-ed by using fans.
The re damper is closed during normal ventilation. When the smoke detector detects smoke, the power supply to the actuator is
interrupted and the damper opens automatically. The re damper is equipped with electrical switches for indicating the end
positions of the damper (open/closed).
The air ow direction has no effect on the functioning of the re damper.
The damper opens within 20 seconds after the smoke detector has been acti-vated.
The standard delivery of the re damper includes a built-in spring-returnactuator 24 V or 230 V and switches for indicating the end positions of thedamper. The damper spring is normally tensioned but in case of a power cut itopens the damper automatically.
Product dataSizes 100 - 500 mm(ETES and connection piece FDR areused for bigger sizes)
The re damper fulls the require-ments of tightness class 3 according toEN 1751.
The damper casing fulls the require-ments of tightness class C according toEN 1751.
Pressure drop across a closed dampermay amount to 2500 Pa.

Smoke extraction damper ETER TECHNICAL DATA
InstallationThe duct outlet must be placed so that the extractiondamper is protected from water coming from outside aswell as ice and snow that could hinder the opening of thedamper. There may be no openings or air terminal devi-ces in the duct between the smoke extraction damper andduct outlet.
The ductwork section between the smoke extractiondamper and duct outlet must be designed and insulatedso that the re resistance and tightness requirements aremet. Also take account of possible condensation.
