Race 1 3 – 7 - 2 #3 Fly to Mars – Looks like this colt has found his preferred racing surface. He has really blossomed since they made the move to turf. Both tries have been wonderful. He cuts back to a sprint after showing nice speed at a mile and should be able to perfectly stalk the pace and get the win today. #7 Secreto Primero – Closed smartly numerous times at 5f and today’s added distance should be beneficial. HOF rider Stevens gets the call and a good effort is expected. #2 Trifecta – This horse always tries hard and has been facing a bit better since Puype claimed him. The class drop should help and I can see this horses flying late to be in the trifecta for Trifecta!
Race 2 1 – 8 - 7 #1 Bear Skinned – Shipped in from Canada and was quickly snatched up b leading trainer Miller. He has some excellent numbers and Miller excels first time off the claim. Strictly the one to beat. #8 Logan’s Moon – Just missed against slightly tougher. He too has excellent numbers and the legendary trainer puts blinkers on to try to shake things up and get a win. This old timer is a big threat here. #7 Iron Rob – Put in a giant effort off the claim for Knapp. They tried tougher and although he found the waters a bit deep, he did not run too shabby. Worth a look here.

Race 9 3 - 1 – 9 #3 Retro – Has done nothing wrong in two lifetime efforts. Both of them were at this surface and distance including the stellar effort in the Surfer Girl. Smith takes over for Prat and I expect to see her in the winner’s circle after the race. #1 Treasuring – She was thrown to the wolves in her first effort here in the states. She was only beaten about 3 lengths in that tough stakes race and now she stretches out to a mile. She can easily get the lead here and might just forget to stop. #9 One Fast Broad – Leading money earner in the race has HOF rider aboard and a brilliant record in 5 starts. She looks like a contender on any surface.

Race 3 10 – 9 – 5 Best Bet of the Day # 10 Tristan’s Trilogy - Outside positions down the Hill always are beneficial, especially the very outside post. Post 10 is where we find my favorite in the race and one that I'm going to personally play. Horses that show speed going a mile, usually run very well down the Hill. This horse has many positive in its favor: outside post, the best TG numbers and return to the Hill after showing speed in a mile. Best bet of the day! #9 Brandothebartender – Also has excellent numbers and a favorable outside post. Just won against slightly better and has to be left in the mix. #5 Burning Brightly - He came here from Ireland and turned in a good effort when premiering here in SoCal. Improvement can be expected and should put in another good effort.
Race 4 12 – 2 - 8 #12 Chatty Carole – No one really stands out in this race so let’s go with this second time starter that ran decently on debut. She bobbled a bit at the start but kept to her task and ran well while racing wide throughout. Any improvement (and trainer Palma hits at a 26% clip second time out) will get her picture taken against these. #2 Tiffany Diamond – Really disappointed last time out. But, her previous two races easily win this one. If you are willing to forgive that last effort (maybe she just hated the two turns) then this is the one for you. #8 Crimsoned N Clover – Ran two good races and one atrocious race. Could compete here if she feels like running.
Race 5 5 – 7 - 2 #5 Make It a Triple – This Colt seems to be the best here. He has the best TG numbers and he has been right there in his last three races. He ran very well to get second last time out and a repeat of that race wins. #7 Hank the Tank – He drops off the win against tougher back in August and that is not a positive sign, but he looked good back in the summer and can be given a shot. #2 Tough It Out – He too has been away since the summer and that last race of his was a disaster. His previous ones were way good enough to win here. But, as with Hank the Tank, he is not the most reliable one here although he has the most talent.
Race 6 12 – 11 – 6 #12 Salsita - I love this mare! She is a win machine. She has the best numbers, has the biggest heart and her connections are impeccable. If she draws in, she wins! #11 Winner’s Dream - Don't think they can beat the #12 in here, but if anyone can, it will be this girl. She invades here from NYC and has run some nice ones out there. She drops a bit in class and she may be this fast. But she will have to be, because the #12 is very fast. #6 Arethusa - This one is also a little dangerous. She is dropping down to $25K after trying much tougher in a GG stakes race. She looks like a nice claim and today she should run much better than last time.
Race 7 1 – 3 – 6 #1 Judicial – Plenty of improvement expected for this filly second time out. She transfers to the Glatt barn and that alone is a huge positive. Encountered all kinds of problems on debut which should give her a very nice education. With all those problems she still ran a very nice third and earned a nice number. This one is VERY live! #3 Z Z Tiger – Showed very nice early speed in her two starts. Looks to make the lead again. The connections are wonderful and she might be this good. #6 Mo See Cal – She was well backed on debut going off as the even money favorite. She actually ran very well to get third going long and on the grass. The turn back and the new surface might make all the difference. She too has a big chance.
Race 8 6 – 4 – 8 #6 Dr. Dorr - Several can win here. It's a super race difficult. We are going with this one who comes in as a new gelding. That sometimes wakes up a horse. He has always had plenty of talent and the new “change of equipment” could put him over the edge and get him back to back wins for Baffert. #4 Desert Law – Is seeking his third straight win and comes in with the best last race TG number. Can handle the slight raise in class. #8 Bobby Abu Dhabi – The world class connections have given this guy some time to fill out. They have always been high on him and we should see a very nice effort from him if he is fit.
