Then you’ll have the experience of getting dressed up as a typical guatemalan for a picture, with the traditional costume from a certain town. Se e i n g the necessit y of our artisans, the Museum decided t o start an artisans guild i n order to improve the quality of life in every possible way of each of our members. Come and visit the only place in Guatemala where you can learn & purchase textiles and handicrafts from mayan people. The experience begins with a tour through the museum, where the mayan costumes & textiles from around the co untry are dispayed in a indigenous atmosphere. The items sold in the shop are made by the precious hands of our people and come from different regions of the country where the artisans weave fora living.The museum has an area where the products are displayed and are also for sale, the majority of our artisans depend from the income that these shop generates.

Junto a un guía cali�cado irá conociendo la identidad de los mayas mediante historiasy leyendas que enorgu llecen la cultura nacional.Asi mismo podrá ver el proceso de elaboración de los artículos tejidos a mano, por artesanos descendientes de los Mayas.

Tendrá la oportunidad de ser vestido con uno de los trajes típicos de la región parauna fotografía y así recordar una experiencia única.

Al final podrá comprar textiles y artesanías expuestas enel museo, las cuales han sido elaboradas por las preciosasmanos de nuestra gente. A travéz de la boutique del museo, muchas de las mujeres y sus familias de escasorecurso económico se bene�cian ya que dependen en gran parte de las ventas del museo.

Con la visión de ir mejorando la calida de vida (en general)de nuestros artesanos, se inicia una Asociación Gremial Guatemalteca de Artesanos pos sus siglas (AGGA) la cualse esmera por el desarrollo integral de cada uno de ellos.

Objetivos Generales.

• Mostrar a nuestra gente y extranjeros sobre la riqueza de la cultura Maya.

• Incentivar a los artesanos a seguir con el bello arte de tejer.

• Motivar a nuestra gentea seguir utilizando el traje tradicional y enseñarles la importancia en nuestra cultura.

La experiencia inicia con un recorrido dentro del museo, en donde observaráuna bella y selecta colección de artesanias y textiles tradicionales de Guatemala.
