Estados Unidos vence a Nicaragua San Salvador, El Salvador. 29 de julio del 2014. Estados Unidos venció 3‐0 a Nicaragua (25‐12, 25‐13, 25‐20) este martes en el juego del grupo C, en el inicio del Campeonato Continental NORCECA SUB 21 en el “Palacios de los Deportes”.

El equipo de Estados Unidos enfrentará a Cuba el miércoles a las 8:00 p.m., mientras Nicaragua jugará ante México a las 2:00 p.m.

Estados Unidos lideró en ataques con 38‐19 y bloqueos con 5‐1. Nicaragua logró 24 puntos por errores del oponente y cometió 27.

Brendan Sander, atacante de esquina, de Estados Unidos lideró a los anotadores con nueve puntos, seis por remate y dos “aces” con el servicio. El bloqueador medio, Jeffrey Jendrik II agregó ocho puntos, seis por remate, ambos jugadores en dos set jugados.

Josue Castillo, atacante de esquina, le dio a Nicaragua seis puntos, cinco con ataque y uno en saque.

Capitán de Nicaragua, Bryan Orozco: “La actitud es importante. Debemos tener más coraje, nosotros podemos hacer más de lo que hicimos. Creo que podemos ser mejores. Intentaré ser el primero para contagiar de ánimos a mis compañeros”.

Osman Hernández, entrenador de Nicaragua: “Tenía cuatro jugadores nuevos en la cancha, estaban nerviosos y tímidos. Cuando ingresé a otros jugadores, con más experiencia vi un mejor equipo. Ellos (el equipo de Nicaragua) hicieron un buen partido, le anotamos 20 puntos al equipo de Estados unidos en el tercer set”.

Soren Kindem, capitán de Estados Unidos: “Cada jugador peleó todos los puntos, trabajaron muy fuerte. El equipo juego a juego se verá mejor. Nuestra actitud fue importante, pero creo que nuestro juego y habilidades son buenas también. Siempre pensamos en el siguiente set, en el siguiente juego, nunca vemos atrás”.

Daniel Friend, entrenador de Estados Unidos: “Creo que hicimos un buen trabajo en los dos primeros sets. Bajamos la intensidad en el tercero, pero gracias al esfuerzo ganamos. Necesitamos trabajar más en el saque, iremos mejorando con el entrenamiento. Esperamos ganar 3‐0, tuvimos dificultades pero ganamos”.

San Salvador, El Salvador. July 29, 2014. The United States to defeat Nicaragua, 25-12, 25-13, 25-20 on Tuesday in a Pool C match on the began NORCECA Boys’ U21 Continental Championship at the “Palacio de los Deportes”.

Team USA (1-0) will face to Cuba Wenesday at 8:00 p.m. while Nicaragua (0-1) will play Mexico at 2 p.m.

U.S. also led in skill 38-19 and blocks (5-1). Nicaragua scored on 24 U.S. errors while committing 27.

U.S. outside hitter Brenden Sander led all scorers with nine points, six for spike and two aces. Middle blocker Jeffrey Jendryk II added eight points on six kills, both players in only two set played.

Outside hitter Josue Castillo paced Nicaragua with six points on five attacks and one server.

San Salvador, El Salvador. 29 de julio del 2014. Puerto Rico logró una victoria fácil 3‐0 sobre Santa Lucía (25‐10, 25‐15, 25‐12) este martes en el juego del grupo B, en el inicio del Campeonato Continental NORCECA SUB 21 en el “Palacios de los Deportes”.

Roberto Pérez, Jon Rivera, Reyli Calderón y Jassiel Cruz terminaron con siete puntos, por la rotación de jugadores que realizó el entrenador puertorriqueño Juan Avilés. Por Santa Lucía, Anfernee Ferdinand y Keiran President con seis.

Puerto Rico fue superior en ataque con 36 por 18 de Santa Lucía, y en servicio con 8‐1. Además los puertorriqueños lograron 27 puntos por errores del contrario y cometieron 18.

Santa Lucía jugará ante Canadá este miércoles a las 4:00 p.m., Puerto Rico jugará hasta el jueves ante Canadá a las 4:00 p.m.

Kevin Norville, capitán de Santa Lucía: “No estábamos bien preparados para el primer juego, sin embargo peleamos bastante y para ser nuestro debut estuvimos bien. Esperamos mejorar e ir creciendo como jugadores en todo el torneo. La falta de experiencia nos afectó, pero para eso estamos acá, para mejorar el nivel”.

Elvin Germain, entrenador de Santa Lucía: “Me gustó la actitud y lo que se vio en el juego, el coraje, la determinación, nadie cree que podemos ganar un juego aquí, pero los jugadores salen con mucha determinación. El trabajo es regresar a casa, adaptarse a la manera de juego que tienen aquí, a la rapidez, y tratar de ir mejorando”.

Brian Negrón, capitán de Puerto Rico: “Siento que es un buen comienzo, una victoria es una victoria. En cierto momento sentimos que estábamos bastante cómodos, pero apretamos y no tuvimos problemas. Lo mejor que tuvimos fue el ánimo, a pesar de ser un juego cómodo no bajamos la actitud”.

San Salvador, El Salvador. 28 de julio del 2014. Cuba venció 3‐1 a México (25‐17, 25‐13, 23‐25, 25‐16) en una fuerte batalla por dominar el grupo C del Campeonato Continental NORCECA Sub 21 de varones en el primer día de competencia en el Palacio de los Deportes.

Abraham Alfonso y Osmany Uriarte consiguieron 18 puntos cada uno por Cuba, mientras México tuvo a Enrique Ugalde a su mejor jugador con 10 puntos. Cuba lideró el ataque con 53‐26, el bloqueo 8‐4 y el servicio 8‐3. Cuba aprovechó 30 errores de México, mientras cometía 29.

Cuba enfrentará el miércoles a Estados Unidos a las 8:00 p.m. y México jugará ante Nicaragua a las 2:00 p.m.

Alan Martínez, capitán de México: “Tuvimos muchas altas y bajas. Luego de ganar el tercer set vimos que podíamos hacer bien las cosas, pero no nos mantuvimos. Lo mejor que tuvimos fue la recepción, logramos manejar ese aspecto y nos ayudó a tener más opciones. Queda un equipo que creemos está al mismo nivel (Estados Unidos)”.

Víctor Porras, entrenador de México: “Fue un partido difícil. No sabíamos cómo venía Cuba, cual eran sus deficiencias y virtudes. Se nos complicó un poco la recepción en ciertas rotaciones, pero logramos mantener la presión. Esto todavía no se acaba, tenemos más partidos, los muchachos están motivados y vamos a analizar el partido para trabajar sobre los errores”.

Ricardo Calvo, capitán de Cuba: “Lo que faltó fue concentración en ciertos momentos. En el cuarto set salimos a ganar y no tuvimos más problemas. Aprovechamos el bloqueo bajo, movimos mucho el ataque porque eso lo entrenamos bien. Confío en los jugadores que tenemos y que las cosas van a salir bien en los próximos juegos”.

Pavel Pimienta: “Faltó un poco de concentración en cierta forma. Los muchachos salieron un poco tensos en su primer juego, cometieron errores que dieron puntos al contrario. Barbados sorprende a El Salvador San Salvador, El Salvador. 28 de Julio del 2014- Barbados obtuvo una extraordinaria Victoria 3-1 sobre El Salvador 25-21,15-25, 25-17, 25-20 el martes en el Grupo A del Campeonato Continental NORCECA Sub 21 de varones.

Fue un juego loco, con momentos de Gloria para ambos equipos. DEspués de ganar el primer set 25-21, Barbados comenzó perdiendo el Segundo set 11-0, hasta perder 25-15. Sin embargo, en el tercero iniciaron ganando 6-1 y terminaron

adelante 25-17. En el cuarto set batallaron hasta estar empatados a 19, pero Barbados fue mejor en bloqueo y ataque para ganar 25-20.

Barbados anotó 29 puntos por errores de El Salvador mientras cometió 35. Barbados lideró en ataque (45-32) y servicio (4-2), mientras El Salvador lideró en bloqueos 14-12.

It was a crazy game, with moments of glory for both teams. After winning the first set, 25-21, Barbados started losing the second set 11-0, until lose 25-15. However in the third, started winning 6-1 for won the set 25-17 and in the four set they battled with the game tied 19-19, Barbados was better in the block and attack for win 25-20.

Barbados scored 29 points on El Salvador errors while committing 35. Barbados led in kills (45-32) and aces (4-2) while El Salvador led in blocks (14-12).

United States cruise past Nicaragua

The United States defeated Nicaragua 25-12, 25-13, 25-20 on Tuesday in a Pool C match to start the NORCECA Men’s U21 Continental Championship at the “Palacio de los Deportes”.

United States also led kills 38-19 and blocks (5-1). Nicaragua scored on 24 errors while committing 27.

Puerto Rico stomps Saint Lucia

Puerto Rico crushed Saint Lucia, 25-10, 25-15, 25-10 on Tuesday to open Pool B action in the 2014 NORCECA Men’s U21 Continental Championship.

Four Puerto Rican players -Roberto Pérez, Jon Rivera, Reyli Calderón and Jassiel Cruz- all finished with 6 points. Anfernee Ferdinand and Keiran President also had six points for Saint Lucia.

Puerto Rico also led in kills (36-18) and aces (8-1) and scored 27 points on Saint Lucia’s errors while committing 18. Saint Lucia (0-1) will play Canada at 4 p.m. CT in Pool B on Wednesday while Puerto Rico will rest and will play Canada at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Cuba battles to beat Mexico

Cuba beat 3-1 Mexico (25-17, 25-13, 23-25, 25-16) in a hard battle in the Pool C NORCECA U21 Men’s Continental Championship during the first day of competition at “Palacio de los Deportes”.

Cuba will face the United States on Wednesday at 8:00 pm and Mexico will play Nicaragua at 2:00 pm.

Puerto Rico logró una victoria fácil 3-0 sobre Santa Lucía (25-10, 25-15, 25-12) este martes en el juego del grupo B.

Roberto Pérez, Jon Rivera, Reyli Calderón y Jassiel Cruz terminaron con siete puntos, por la rotación de jugadores que realizó el entrenador puertorriqueño Juan Avilés. Por Santa Lucía, Anfernee Ferdinand y Keiran President con seis.
