The anti-bullying program “Stand For The Silent” (SFTS) addresses the issue of school bullying with an engaging, factual, and emotional methodology. The goal of the program is to educate our students about bullying. Above all, it illustrates the main lesson taught through the Stand For The Silent program: I AM SOMEBODY. Boaz City Schools and TEAM BOAZ is initiating anti-bullying program called “Stand for the Silent”. School Resource Officer, SRO Thomas Underwood, Boaz Police Department with the guidance and assistance of BIS Councilor will teach a class on bullying to the 5th grade students. This program was inspired by Kirk and Laura Smalley, Stand For The Silent. The anti-bullying program is a forty-five minute power point teaching students the Definition of Bullying, Four Types of Bullying, and Ten Ways to Stop a Bully and How to Report Bullying. It also teaches students how to Stand Strong Against Bullies. At the end of each program, pledge cards are given to those who agree to stand for the silent.
