In the early summer of 1979, the Arriagas received an invitation from a group iiltepec, which is approximately 12 miles from Yecapixtla and around 25 miles from Cto come and teach them. This is the second congregation they work with.

Just last year, I98O, a group of people from Zahuatlan, a suburb of Yecapixtlameeting with the congregation in Jumiltepec.

At the end of I98O, a third work was started in Tetelcingo, around   miles fromla. AChristian brother from Mexico City bou^t a house in Telelcingo and are lettinpeople use it for church services. The main attendance is children plus one family.

In 1979, it became evident, with the expansion of the work that Eduardo needed somof transportation. They had been taking the bus and the fares alone were averaging  month. In 1979, two of his main supporting congregations, and some individual suppoaccepted the challenge to purchase a pick-up truck for him. This has aided his mgrea t ly

Eduardo has used some of the knhe gained while in the United States to help the people construct sewers and sometanks. However, i t is very difficult work since the ground is very hard and rocky.

Their efforts have begun to bear ftuit. Eduardo reported that the people arelearning their responsibilities as Christians, including giving tithes and offeringdoesn t mind their slowness as long as they continue to learn. First of all, I want to mention that I have already sent thank you letters of apation to everyone who sent boxes and things to the border (Hopefully these lettersbeen received by you.) I understand that liy April newsletter did not reach the Unite<I was told that you have not heard from me in a long while. I have to pay 550.00 pas( 2.00) to register a letter, perhaps not much but I wish we had better service. Plepa t i en t w i t h u s .

In March, we went to the border to t he B i li ng ua l Christian Convention in Sa^e PTexas. I t was a great time with good messages, visiting ol d friends including my sisMa ria , and her husband.

were able to pass through Mexican customs with everything that was sent to usno problems. Thanks to a ll of you for thinking of us and for your interest in this mEverything sent to us is veiy much appreciated. Items frwn a school supply store wenated and some congregations sent teaching material that has been very useful with SuSchool activ ities. Thank you to Mrs. King from Shades Mountain Christian Church, BinAl, for the guitar. Carmin, our daughter, is just era ay about i t She wants to learplay the guitar since a piano is too expensive. She will then help with the music in

When we came back from the border, the church i n Yecapixtla greeted us like we hbeen gone for a year. They fixed a bi g meal to welcome us and we sang hymns togetheis nice to be missed and much nicer to know these p eo pl e l ov e us as much as we love

In one of my letters, I mentioned that we had a construction fund that we wanteuse to purchase land and build a church. I t has been necessary to have a dbber buiright now so we used that money to enlarge the place we ar e now using* V e asked oulady to le t us enlarge th e room and she gave us 2,40 meters more. Construction workbegun in March stopped in April fo r a l i t t le while because the money ran out, but nis finally finished. Now we have a l i t t le more room and i t makes a big difference.now our greatest need for this congregation in Yecapixtla is to purchase land and buc h u r c h

Our work in Jumiltapec has started to bear f r uit . A congregation is being formis s t i l l small but I remember how i t was in Yecapixtla when i t f i r s t began. I t took

The first Sunday in May was the third anniversary of the church in Yecapixtla.minister from Mexico City came to bring the message. I t was a time of joy and great flowship was shared a t our church dinner.

May 8th some students from Golegio Bibl ico and a teacher held a three day revivaus. The purpose wad to interest the young people to go to Golegio Biblico to prepare tselves as missionaries or l eade rs f or our congregations, we need both. I always emph

that to these people* Also, leaders are needed to open new missionary fields. Severthese young people have expressed a desire to attend Golegio Biblico. I mi^t lose thyouth group, I hope so i f they will serve the Lord.

more important than the  sweet sixteen in the United States, as I understand i t . Inico, to be 15 i s a jump from childhood to womanhood. At age 15 , girls can get marriedthey want to and many of them get married very young. (I don t think I have to woacrthat yet) Most of the gir ls a t 15 have a big fiesta on their birthdays. I know sheexpecting that because she knows we can not afford i t . (I hope I can afford a new drher) But like every gir l , she has dreams. I pray that those dreams are according toLord s w i l l and may the Lord make those dreams come t r u e .

Take good care of yourselves my frlneds. Never stop praying for us. Thank youmuch for your f inancial help. God bless you a l l .

Some months ago, our landlady, who happens to be my sister-in-asked us to move because she v/ants to bui ld a commercial bui ld ing

gave us until November. We started looking and we found an apartment 4,000.00 paso s ( 180.00) a month. I had two problems:

One: They wanted 3 months of rent in advance: 12,000.00 pt t I d id n o t h av e

Second: How was I going to pay for it every month?

I receive pos t-da ted checks for  350.00 a month every six monthssome personal offerings that I receive from individuals which I appreso very much. But i t is  350.00 that I count on,and 1 could not pay 1for housing and live on 170.00. So,I didn t rent the apartment. I hmy income would increase a l i t t le but the checks from August 1981 -1982 are for  350.00. Nevertheless, I just got a check for  500.00my Forwarding Agents represent ing the money that has accumulated from- September. That was a nice surprise and a tremendous help. (The Lway of telling me to trust Him a l i t t le bit more next time). I t incrmy budget to about 435.00 a month. Stil l , there are some things we

that we do without, but when those needs become a must, the food bgets hurt, or gasoline, or rent, or sometimes even medical care, I amcomplaining, I just want you to know how things are down here. I walive inside my means, and that apartment was out of my means. I tato my sister-in-law and she said she will wait. So, I'm lookinghouse again. Please, keep us in your prayers in this matter.

I don t want to t ire you out with so many words. I will closeletter telling you that the 1st of August was my 16th wedding anniverSixteen years married to this wonderful woman of mine, always so pa

with me. To whom I have not been able to give much, except a l l myand a lo t of headaches. Not even a roof tha t she can cal l her ownkind of hurts my man's pride, even when I know she shares with me thefeelings about working for our Lord. I know deep in her heart shel ike to have a house. Every woman does. And maybe i t is time to sdown. I believe the Lord will show us the r ight place and time, andHe does. He will also provide. Then I will be able to build her aa l i t t l e place that she can ca l l her own.

Thank you for being patient with us. Please, don t forget abouWe don t forget our responsibility toward the Lord and toward you, keep us in your hearts. Take care of yourselves in this cold seasowill try to keep ourselves warm We love you all
