1. En ce qui concerne l’Avis 7326.90/7, le Groupe de travail convient de retenir le texte dudocument en supprimant le terme “la” de la première phase et en ajoutant dans la baselégale une mention à la Note 7 de la Section XV.

2. Quant à l’Avis 8535.90/1, le Groupe de travail convient de changer son libellé françaisen “Piquets de mise à la terre, soudés …”, d’insérer une référence au voltage (1000 volts) àla troisième phrase et de supprimer dans cette phrase toutes les mentions relatives auxboîtes d’inspection dans la mesure où ces derniers ne sont pas présentés avec l’article quele Comité a classé.

3. La base légale du second Avis ayant été omise dans la décision du Comité, le Groupede travail est convenu de placer la mention à l’application des RGI 1 et 6 entre crochets pourexamen et décision par le Comité

1. With regard to Classification Opinion 7326.90/7, the Working Party agreed to retainthe text of the document, subject to deleting the word “la” in the first sentence of the Frenchversion and adding a reference to Note 7 to Section XV in the legal basis.

2. As for Classification Opinion 8535.90/1, the Working Party agreed to change thewording of the French heading to “Piquets de mise à la terre, soudés …”, to insert areference to voltage (1000 volts) in the second sentence and to delete from that sentence allreferences to inspection boxes, insofar as the latter were not presented with the articleclassified by the Committee.

3. As the legal basis for the second Classification Opinion had been omitted in thedecision of the Committee, the Working Party agreed to place the reference to theapplication of GIRs 1 and 6 in square brackets, for examination and decision by theCommittee.

4. Finally, the Working Party agreed to place in square brackets, for examination anddecision by the Committee, the two photographs to be inserted in this Classification Opinion.The Secretariat was also asked to help find photos to suitably illustrate the productsclassified by the Committee.

“(6) Solid-state, non-volatile data storage devices for recording data from an externalsource. These devices (also known as “flash memory cards” or “flash electronicstorage cards”) are used for recording data from an external source, such asnavigation and global positioning systems, data collection terminals, portable scanners,medical monitoring appliances, audio recording apparatus, personal communicators,mobile phones and digital cameras. Generally, the data is stored onto and read fromthe device once it has been connected to that particular appliance, but can also beuploaded to an automatic data processing machine by using a special adapter. Thedevices only use power supplied from the appliances to which they are connected, andrequire no battery.

These non-volatile data storage devices are comprised of, in the same housing,one or more flash memories (“FLASH E2PROM”) in the form of integrated circuitsmounted on a printed circuit board, and incorporate a connecting socket to a hostappliance. They may include capacitors, resistors and a microcontroller in the form ofan integrated circuit.
