• Just like any other adjective in Spanish, names of professions must change to agree with the object that they describe (in this case, the person they are describing). – Those that end in –o change to -a (e.g. abogado
abogada)– Those that end in –r add an a (e.g. profesor
profesora)– Those that end in –e or -a don’t need to change
(e.g. dependiente dependiente, electricista electricista)
– Some just have their own special ending (e.g. actor actriz)

• Quiero ser » Profesor» Enfermera» Abogada» Piloto etc.
• Note that in Spanish, the article is not used when talking about jobs. So, you do not say ‘quiero ser un profesor’ as you would in English.
