Dejar la propina- to leave a tip

Para mi-I’ll have

Pedir la comida- to order food

Servir el postre- to serve dessert.

Traer la comida- to bring the meal

Gramatica In the preterite tense, some Spanish –ir verbs

have vowel changes in their stems.For example:

only in the usted, el, ella forms and ellos/ellas/ustedes

In a restaurant, you might hear the waiter person say:

¿Ya sabe(n) que va(n) a pedir?Do you know what you want to order?Recomiendo la especialidad de la casa.I recommend the special.

¿Que le(s) traigo de tomar ?What may I bring you to drink?¿Que desea(n) de postre?What do you want for dessert?¿Se le(s) ofrece algo mas?Would you care for anything else?

You could answer:No. ? Que me recomienda?What do you recommend?Esta bien, pero no es muy picante, ?verdad?That is fine, but it is not very spicy, right?Para mi I’ll have…….Por favor, me trae un flan.Please bring me a flan.No, gracias solo quiero la cuenta.No thanks, I only want the bill.

Verbs

All verbs have a written accent in the nosotros form of the imperfect.

Ir and Ser in the imperfect tense.

Ir and ser are irregular verbs in the imperfect:
