GARBAGE WARRIOR
Michael Reynolds designs and
builds houses in the heat andcold, whose buildings fromnatural and recycled materials, produce their own electricity, collect their own water, sewageand grow their own food.
Michael Reynolds has 35 years breaking therules of conventional architecture andsociety. Since the seventies, began building
a settlement in a New Mexico desert withbeer cans, clay, plastic bottles and old tires. There are few fans of Reynolds, as theyhave built around 2,000 houses Earthship(literally, ship earth).

This working system has been
rejected by politicians and colleagueswho only in recent years (curiouslyfrom the great Tsunami disaster)recognize the validity of theseconstructs. His story was made into afilm under the title "Garbage Warrior"
(Warrior of the garbage), shown atinternational festivals, which offershope to those who want to believe ina lifestyle that respects theenvironment.

Reynolds lives in a large plateau of New Mexico, where its headquarters and home, grow theirown plants and design new projects.
We witness a method that is repeated in differentdesigns of Earthship: tires half buried structures
in the form of "U". The reason: the half-buriedstructure to regulate the temperature of thehousing unit with the temperature of the earthand the large thermal inertia that thisconstruction system contains, so it isunnecessary to use air conditioning systems.
