Salutació del President del Club del Gos d’Atura CatalàGreeting from the Catalan Sheepdog Club President

Benvolguts socis i sòcies del Club i amants del Gos d’Atura Català, ens acostem a l’equa-dor d’aquests 4 anys de direcció del Club i us puc dir que estic molt content i satisfet per la feina feta des de l’últim butlletí. Hi ha moltís-sim contingut. Tant, que ho dividiré en 4 parts: treball i agility, morfologia, funcionament ge-neral del Club, i finalment, la Monogràfica.

Voldria destacar les moltes proves de treball i d’agility que hem realitzat enguany arreu de Catalunya. De cap a cap, des de Vallfogo-na del Ripollès, a Móra d’Ebre. Passant per Vic, Banyoles, Campllong, Vacarisses, etc. I darre-rament involucrant els nens i nenes del públic en les exhibicions d’agility. Una exceŀlent car-ta de presentació per qui encara no coneixia el Gos d’Atura Català, i poder interactuar amb ells demostrant l’exceŀlent temperament que té la nostra raça, especialment quan han tingut una educació coherent i consistent.

Ara que parlo d’agility, vull felicitar a l’Ivan Caraca, i a la seva gossa d’atura català, Enxa-neta, per haver guanyat el darrer Campionat de Catalunya d’agility. En aquest butlletí hi troba-reu un escrit fet per ell mateix. Un gran mèrit per ell, per l’Enxaneta i pel Gos d’Atura Català.

Parlarem també de la darrera prova de Campllong (Gironès) 2018, on vam rebre la visita i participació de persones de França i Bèlgica, encapçalats pel President del Club del Gos d’Atura Català de Bèlgica, Marc Ver-vaecke. Que per cert, foren els guanyadors de la prova de treball. Primerament vull agrair-los, molt sincerament, en nom del Club, la seva vi-sita. Segona vull felicitar-los públicament pels

A warm welcome to members and all Catalan Sheepdog lovers. As we approach the half-way point of our term in office I would first like to say how happy and satisfied I am with the work that has been done since the last issue of this bulletin was published. This issue is so packed with infor-mation and news about what has been going on that I am going to divide it into four parts: working dogs and agility, conformation, the general run-ning of the club and the Breed Show.

First, I would like to highlight the working dog and agility trials that have taken place this year all over Catalonia, from Vallfogona del Ripollès at the top of the country to Móra d’Ebre at the bottom, passing through Vic, Banyoles, Campllong, Va-carisses, and others. We have lately been involv-ing kids from the audience in these trials —what better way to meet the breed for those not yet familiar with the Catalan Sheepdog but to interact with them as they show off their fabulous tem-perament, provided they have been trained co-herently and consistently.

While I am on the subject of agility, I would like to congratulate Ivan Caraca and his Catalan Sheepdog Enxaneta for having won the last Cata-lan Championship in Agility —a huge achievement for him, for Enxaneta and for the Catalan Sheep-dog. We are thrilled that Ivan has written a piece for this bulletin.

We will also talk about the latest sheep herding trials that took place at Campllong (Gironès) 2018, where we were delighted to welcome some visitors from France and Belgium led by the President of the Belgian Catalan Sheepdog Club, Marc Verae-cke who, by the way, took first place in the trials.

resultats a la Prova de Campllong i per la feina que des de fa anys fan amb el Gos d’Atura Ca-talà; en aquest cas, en el treball amb ovelles. I tercera, fa palès que des del País d’origen cal arremangar-nos fort per tornar a posar la nos-tra raça al lloc que li pertoca pel que fa a les demostracions de treball.

Sobre la morfologia i exposicions canines vull destacar la organització de Concursos Mono-gràfics de Gos d’Atura Català. L’any passat vam organitzar el primer Concurs Morfològic de la nostra raça en molt de temps. I enguany, enca-ra hem anat més enllà i n’hem fet dos. Un a Sa-ragossa, i un altre a Girona, on a més a més vam fer l’Exposició Internacional, Especial de raça Gos d’Atura Català. Vull agrair que a Saragossa i sobretot a Girona, la participació de persones i criadors que ara mateix no formen part de la Di-rectiva i que hi van participar aportant varietat i quantitat en el Concurs.

Sobre el funcionament general del Club abans de res vull donar la benvinguda als més de 40 nous socis que s’han sumat al Club en aquests quasi 2 anys. Òbviament no és un «increment net», doncs també hem tingut alguns socis que ens han dit adéu, tot i que desitjo que si-gui un a reveure. Sigui com sigui, el balanç de nou socis està clarament a l’alça, cosa que ho considero una bona senyal del bon funciona-ment del Club. En aquest sentit no em can-saré de felicitar l’equip Directiu del Club. I dic equip, perquè realment es treballa en equip. I a més a més, en aquestes alçades, amb molts automatismes ja adquirits. I sobretot, amb un companyerisme, unitat, bon rotllo i implicació general extraordinaris. Si seguim així, continu-arem fent grans coses pel Gos d’Atura Català, i pel Club.

També explicar-vos que el mes de juliol es va convocar una reunió de Comissió de Cria ober-ta també als criadors que no formen part de la Directiva. No va anar exactament com volíem, però tampoc no va anar malament. Desitjo que en properes ocasions podem encarar-ho més estrictament a la morfologia, salut i tempera-ment del Gos d’Atura Català.

Hem aprovat modificacions de la Normativa de Cria, i la Normativa de Campionat del Club, pel que fa a Exposicions canines. I també estem realitzant una galeria d’exemplars. Al web hi tro-

And third, I would like to say that here in the country of ori-gin of the breed we still have plenty of work to do to raise the profile of the Catalan Sheepdog as a working dog.

Moving on to conformation and dog shows, I would like to highlight the Breed Competitions that have been organised this year. The previous year we put on the first Conformation Competition for our breed that has been held in a long time, and this year we have put on not one but two: one in Saragossa and a second one in Girona to coincide with the Cata-lan Sheepdog Special at the International Show. I would like to acknowledge the participation of the owners and breeders who currently do not form part of the Management Team and thank them for bringing variety and quality to the competition in Saragossa, and especially to the event in Girona.

Regarding the general running of the Club, first of all I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the more than forty new members that have joined the Catalan Sheepdog Club over the last two years. While it is true that some members have also left us in this period —although I hope this is more an au revoir than a definitive good-bye— the number of members is clearly on the rise, which I take as a sign of how well the Club is running. To this effect, I cannot congratulate the Management team of the Club enough; and I say team because it really is a team effort, such that by now many of the tasks entrusted to us run by themselves. And above all, the team operates with comradeship, unity, good will and extraordi-nary commitment. If we carry on like this we will do great things for the Catalan Sheepdog.

I would also like to inform you that in July the Breeding Commission held a meeting which was open to all breeders, irrespective of whether or not they form part of the Management team. Although the meeting did not go exactly as we would have liked, it was not entirely unsuccess-ful. I hope that on future occasions we can focus more exclusively on the purpose of these meet-ings, which is to discuss the conformation, health and temperament of the Catalan Sheepdog.

bareu els requisits, però es tracta que hi puguin ser un bon grapat d’exemplars de la nostra raça per tal que tal i com diu el nom, sigui una galeria de cara el públic general. I a la vegada sigui una eina pels criadors a l’hora d’escollir la millor pa-rella pel seu gos o gossa.

Finalment informar-vos que en l’últim any hem rebut més de 30.000 visites al web del Club. I el Facebook del Club ja compta amb 1000 seguidors, i està pujant amb força.

Sobre la Monogràfica. En aquest butlletí n’hi trobareu dues, la del 2017 i la 2018. Doncs en-guany hem decidit enviar el butlletí just abans de les Festes nadalenques. Veureu que a la XXXVIII Exposició Monogràfica, la d’enguany, hem fet encara una passa més. Doncs l’Assem-blea General de Socis que fèiem en el marc de la Monogràfica, l’hem passat fer-la en el marc de la Trobada de Socis, en la que creiem que també hi encaixa perfectament. I així poder fer una Jornada Tècnica sobre la morfologia del Gos d’Atura Català el dissabte a la tarda de la Monogràfica. Per la resta, igual que l’any pas-sat, dissabte el matí la Monogràfica. I diumen-ge estava previst fer l’exhibició d’agility i treball amb gos d’atura català i ovella ripollesa. Tot ple-gat per fer cada cop més gran la Festa del Gos d’Atura Català que creiem que ha de ser el cap de setmana de la Monogràfica. I emmarcat a la Fira de Sant Martirià de Banyoles, dedicada a les races autòctones Catalanes, i on el Gos d’Atura Català hi encaixa perfectament.

Tanmateix, enguany la pluja ens ha fet molt la guitza. A Campllong va ploure, tot i que ho vam poder acabar fent. Al Mercat del Ram de Vic, que hi havíem de fer treball i agility durant tot el cap de setmana, només es va poder fer el mínim. A la Trobada de Socis també ens va ploure... I per descomptat, a la Monogràfica, on el dissabte vam poder celebrar-la aplicant un dels plans alternatius que un mes abans haví-em previst amb els organitzadors de la Fira en cas de pluja. No era la situació ideal, però totes les alternatives tenien els seus peròs i contres. I l’important és que la Monogràfica es va poder celebrar amb normalitat. D’altra banda, la Jor-nada Tècnica sobre la Morfologia del Gos d’Atu-ra Català del dissabte a la tarda també la vam poder fer, molt interessant i vull agrair l’assis-tència i participació dels jutges, criadors i socis que hi van venir. Però el diumenge vam haver

We have approved some amendments to the Breeding Regulations and the Club Championship Regulations in terms of dog shows. We are also in the process of compiling a gallery of examples of Catalan Sheepdogs, the requisites for inclusion in which can be found on the Club website. The idea is for there to be a good number of dogs in the gal-lery, which will not only be for public viewing, but also a useful tool for breeders wishing to choose the best mate for their dogs.

Before moving on, I would like to point out that the Club website received more than 30,000 vis-its last year and we have more than 1000 follow-ers on our Facebook page, a figure that is contin-ually rising.

Let’s move on to the Breed Show. You will find two breed shows covered in this bulletin, the 2017 show and the 2018 show. You will see that there was a change made to the schedule of events for the 2018 XXXVIII Breed Show. In recent years, the General Assembly for Members has taken place within the context of the breed show, but as from last year we decided to hold it on the Members’ Day, which we believe is a more suitable day. This leaves the Saturday afternoon of the Breed Show weekend free for the Technical Conference on the conformation of the Catalan Sheepdog. The sched-ule for the rest of the weekend remains the same: on the Saturday morning the Breed Show and on the Sunday morning the agility and working dog displays with the Catalan Sheepdog and Ripollès Sheep. The aim, as always, is to increase the scope and size of the Catalan Sheepdog festival that we believe the Breed Show weekend to be. And what better way to celebrate this weekend than during the Banyoles Sant Martirià Fair, a country show dedicated to native Catalan breeds in which the Catalan Sheepdog takes pride of place.

Unfortunately, last years’ events were marred by rain. At Campllong it rained, although in the end we were able to complete the trials. We were not so lucky at the Mercat del Ram in Vic and on the Mem-bers’ Day, where we could only do a fraction of the activities planned. And, of course, it rained over the weekend of the Breed Show. We were able to do the Show, of course, by putting into action the alterna-tive plans we had made with the organisers of the Fair in case of rain. Although it was not the idea situ-ation, the important thing was that the judging was able to take place. The Technical Conference on the conformation of the Catalan Sheepdog that same

d’anular tot el tema de Treball i agility. De totes maneres, vam aprofitar per reunir-nos amb al-guns pastors i parlar de com encaràvem nous projectes de treball amb el Gos d’Atura Català...

Finalment, vull parlar-vos de la participació en l’Exposició Monogràfica. Abans de res agrair a tots els que teniu un Gos d’Atura Català, i hi vau participar. Així com també als criadors que aporten el màxim de gossos a la Monogràfica per fer gran la festa en varietat, qualitat i per ensenyar el seu treball com a criadors. Sou els imprescindibles!

Doncs des del Club podem organitzar tot d’activitats al voltant del Gos d’Atura Català, podem anunciar-la amb el màxim d’antelació, ens podem assegurar de portar jutges especi-alitzats amb la nostra raça, gaudir de patroci-nadors en aquest cas Belcando que obsequia a tots els participats i encara més als tres pri-mers classificats de les categories; podem te-nir en compte el context de dificultat per omplir algunes exposicions i concursos generalistes, etc. Però al final, que la Monogràfica sigui un èxit depèn i és responsabilitat de tothom i re-percuteix directament en el prestigi del Gos d’Atura Català. No és només mèrit de la Directi-va, sinó sobretot de tots els socis i amants del Gos d’Atura Català! És a dir, de tots vosaltres!

Perdoneu aquesta llarga salutació, ha sigut un any molt intens i trepidant. No absent de difi-cultats. Però sigui com sigui n’estic, n’estem, molt satisfets. Doncs no som perfectes, sem-pre hi haurà aspectes a millorar. Però d’esforç, generositat i iŀlusió per la nostra raça no en manquen.

Espero que gaudiu del Butlletí A l’Aguait, i sobretot del vostre extraordinari Gos d’Atura Català!

Saturday afternoon also went ahead as planned. I would like to thank all the judges, breeders and members who attended and took part in this ex-tremely interesting session. The scheduled working dog and agility events for the Sunday, however, had to be cancelled, although we made the most of the time to meet with some shepherds to talk about how we could implement some future working dog projects with Catalan Sheepdogs.

Last, I would like to say a few words about partic-ipation in the Breed Show. Thank you to all of you who have a Catalan Sheepdog and took part in the Breed Show. And thank you to the breeders who take as many Catalan Sheepdogs as they can to the show to make it a great festival of variety and quality and to showcase the work they do as breeders. You are irreplaceable!

The role of the Club at the Breed Show is to or-ganize all these activities based around the Cat-alan Sheepdog; to announce as early as possible when the show will take place; to ensure to engage the specialist judges of our breed; to engage spon-sors for the event —in this case, Belcando —who give all participants, and especially the three win-ners in each category, prizes; to take into account the difficulties involved in attracting large numbers of participants for some all-rounder shows and competitions, and so on. But at the end of the day the success or failure of the Breed Show depends on and is the responsibility of everyone, the out-come of which reflects directly on the prestige of the Catalan Sheepdog. The merit for the success of a breed show goes not only to the Management team of the Club, but also to all the members of the Club and lovers of the Catalan Sheepdog. In other words, to all of you!

Forgive me this rather long greeting, but it has been an extraordinarily intense and busy year. There have been obstacles to overcome, but I —or rather we— are very satisfied with the result. There is always room for improvement, and I have no doubt that with generosity and enthusiasm and the commitment we all have to our breed we will continue to do so.

I hope you enjoy this issue of the Bulletin “A l’Aguait” and that you are enjoying being the own-er of an extraordinary Catalan Sheepdog.

El diumenge 17 de juny, Ares del Maestrat va esdevenir la capital dels gossos d’atura Orga-nitzat per Juli Bayot, amb la coŀlaboració de Ajuntament d’Ares del Maestrat, al Concurs de Gossos de Rabera d’Ares congrega cada any als millors de Pais Valencia, Catalunya, Navarra i Euskadi.

El morellà Ismael Boix, amb la gossa Neska ha sigut el vencedor de la XIII edició del concurs de gossos de rabera d’Ares del Maestrat. En sego-na posició s’ha classificat el pastor d’Ares, Julio Bayot, que ha competit amb Chispa. La tercera posició va ser per a Jesus Beneito amb la seua gossa Daina.

El club també va estar pre-sent representat per Jordi Villanueva (Grup de Treball del club del gos d’atura ca-talà) que va tenir el plaer de formar part del jurat i exer-cir de jutge del concurs.

On Sunday 17th June, Ares de Maestrat turned into the capital of the Catalan Sheepdog. Organ-ised by Juli Bayot with the collaboration of the Town Council of Ares de Maestrat, the Herding Dog Competition takes place every year with the best dogs from Valencia, Catalonia, Navarra and the Basque Country taking part.

Ismael Boix from Morella and his dog Neska won the XIII edition of the herding dog compe-tition of Ares del Maestrat. In second place was Julio Bayot, who competed with his dog, Chis-pa. And in third place was Jesus Beneito with his dog Daina.

The Club was represented by Jordi Villanueva (Work-ing Dog Group of the Cat-alan Sheepdog Club), who had the enormous pleas-ure of forming part of the judging panel and deciding on the day’s winners.

El dia 22 de juny de 2018 el Club Del Gos D’Atu-ra Català va ser convidat a la festa que organit-zà l’AMPA i l’Ajuntament de Vallfogona del Ripo-llès per fer una xerrada als més petits sobre el nostre Gos D’Atura Català, també vam fer una exhibició d’Agility amb Gos D’Atura amb la par-ticipació de tots els nens de l’escola de Vallfo-gona i de l’escola de Planoles, tots van disfrutar molt amb els nostres GAC.

Agrair a l’Ajuntament de Vall-fogona de Ripollès, a l’AMPA, a l’associació de pescadors i a tot el poble de Vallfogona per con-fiar en nosaltres un any més.

On 22nd June 2018, the Catalan Sheepdog Club was invited to the festival organised by the Parents’ Association and the Town Council of Vallfogona del Ripollès to talk to the smallest children about the Catalan Sheepdog and to do an agility display with the dogs in which all the children from the Vallfogona and Planoles schools were able to take part. Everybody had a great time with our Catalan Sheepdogs.

We would like to thank the Town Council of Vall-fogona de Ripollès, the Parents’ Association, the fishermen’s association and all the village of Vallfogona for once again trusting in us this year.

El passat dissabte dia 16 de juny de 2018, el Club del Gos D’Atura Català va estar convidat per l’Ajuntament de Pobla de Mafumet.

El Club del Gos D’Atura Català va fer una exhibició d’Agility amb Gos D’Atura Català i va fer que tot el públic i en especial els més petits s’ho passaren molt bé participant i interactuant amb els nostres Gossos D’Atura.Agraïm a la Pobla de Mafumet la seva confian-ça amb el Club Del Gos D’Atura Català.

On Saturday 16th June 2018, the Catalan Sheepdog Club was invited to Pobla de Mafu-met by the Town Council.

The Club put on an agility display with Cata-lan Sheepdogs, getting all the public, and espe-cially the littlest ones, to join in and have a great time interacting with our Catalan Sheepdogs.We would like to thank Pobla de Mafument for trusting in the Catalan Sheepdog Club.

Benvolguts socis i simpatitzants del Gos d’Atura Català. El passat dia 19 de maig es va celebrar la trobada anual, acompanyada d’un dinar i també una as-samblea.

Tot plegat ho vàrem fer a Sant Pere de Tore-lló (zona pícnic), un espai molt agradable i bonic on la gent s’hi va trobar molt a gust (llàstima de la pluja que ens va fer la guitza).

El dinar va constar d’embotits de la terra acompanyats de pa amb tomàquet, arròs cal-dós, postres i begudes.

Degut al mal temps, l’assemblea es va fer en un dels bars del poble.

A warm welcome to members and Catalan Sheepdog lovers. The annual members’ day was held on 19th May and included lunch and an assembly .

It was held in the picnic area of Sant Pere de Torelló, a pretty and pleasant space, which the members liked very much (shame about the rain, which put rather a dampener on the day).

For lunch there was local cured meat with bread and tomato, Catalan rice, desert and drinks.

The 36th Campllong livestock competition with the Catalan Sheepdog, organised by the Cat-alan Sheepdog Club, took place on 7-8 April 2018.

It was a huge pleasure to hold a competition with so many shepherds and Catalan Sheep-dogs taking part to such a high standard, where once again the prefect symbiosis between shepherd and our breed when they are working was evidenced.

This year, there were shepherds and Catalan Sheepdogs from all over the Catalonia, Valencia, France and Belgium (which fills us with pride as it shows how established and internationalized our magnificent and beloved breed is).

A total of 8 shepherds and 10 Catalan Sheep-dogs took part:

The trials were coordinated as usual by Jordi Villaneuva, member of the Management Team who, with the invaluable assistance of different members of the Club committee and collabo-rating members of the Club, once again organ-ised this perfect sheepdog trial event.

Diumenge es va celebrar a la ciutat de Cam-pllong (Gironès) el 36è concurs monogràfic de bestiar amb gos d’atura català organitzat pel Club del Gos D’Atura Català.

Va ser un gaudi poder gaudir d’un concurs amb tanta participació de pastors i gos d’atura català i de l’alt nivell que van mostrar, on una vegada més es va poder comprovar la perfecta simbiosi que formen el pastor i la nostra raça a hora de la feina.

Aquest any tingui presència de pastors i gos d’atura català vinguts de tot el Principat, del País Valencià de França i de Bèlgica (el que ens omple d’orgull i alhora demostra l’assentament i la internacionalització de la nostra magnífica i estimada raça).

En total van ser 8 pastors i 10 gossos els que van participar:

El passat cap de setmana del 24 i 25 de març 2018 el Club del Gos d’Atura Català, a través dels seus grups de Treball i Agility amb Gos d’Atura Català hi organitzava, conjuntament i gràcies a l’organització del Mercat del Ram, un esde-veniment per fer difusió de la nostra raça ca-nina autòctona en els aspectes de treball amb ramat d’ovella ripollesa i agility. Ho considerem un assoliment important pel Gos d’Atura Cata-là doncs darrerament les exhibicions de treball que es feien fins ara eren amb races foranies.

On 24 and 25 March of 2018, the Catalan Sheepdog Club, through their Working Dog and Agility with Catalan Sheepdog groups, togeth-er with and thanks to the organization Mercat del Ram, organised an event to promote our native dog breed and how they work with Ri-pollès sheep and do agility. We consider this a great achievement for the Catalan Sheepdog as working dog displays have until now been done with foreign dog breeds.

el treball imprescindible de diferents membres de la directiva del club així com de socis coŀla-boradors de la mateixa, que van fer possible la perfecta organització de la prova.

Després d’un esmorzar consistent de ger-manor amb tots junts, van començar els judicis de la prova en la qual la primera volta va demos-trar l’alt nivell dels concursants i dels gossos d’atura català que van participar.

Un cop classificats els que van passar a la se-gona volta van quedar com a guanyadors i defi-nitius del concurs i per aquest ordre:

1. Dani amb el gos d’atura català Myilo (Bèlgica)2. Mark amb la gossa d’atura català Llana (Bèlgica)3. Juli amb el gos d’atura català Pancho (València)

Un cop acabat el concurs es va escollir el millor gos d’atura català que més s’acosta a l’estan-dart oficial de la nostra raça en morfologia i els jutges van donar com a millor:

Acabarem la jornada amb un dinar tots junts on comentem el concurs i la gran participació de públic tot i el dia que va fer, el que confirma l’estima de la gent en vers el treball dur i cons-tant dels pastors i evidentment l’estima cap a la nostra magnífica raça el gos d’atura català.

After a hearty breakfast judging began and the high standard of the competitors and the Catalan Sheepdogs that took part could be seen from the very first round.

Once all the participants had been classified, those that passed to the second round were proclaimed the winners of the competition. They were, in this order:

1. Dani with the Catalan Sheepdog Myilo(Belgium)2. Mark with the Catalan Sheepdog Llana(Belgium)3. Juli with the Catalan Sheepdog Pancho(Valencia)

Once the trials were finished the best Catalan Sheepdog in the sense of the one that most closely matched the official standard for the breed in conformation was chosen by the judg-es. The winner was the bitch Guapa, owned by the shepherd Briguitte (France).

The trials were rounded off with lunch during which the competition and the large crowd that had watched the trials, despite the bad weather, were commented on as signs of the apprecia-tion people have for the tough, consistent work of the shepherd and the love they have for our magnificent breed, the Catalan Sheepdog.

D’altra banda, els socis i sòcies del nos-tre Club tenien l’avan-tatge de poder entrar gratuïtament al recin-te firal ensenyant el carnet de soci.

Sobre les activitats estava previst fer-ne 8! 4 de treball, i 4 d’agility. Una darrere de l’altra, el dissabte i el diumenge a les 11h i a les 16h. Tanmateix la pluja provocà que moltes de les activitats previstes pel Mercat del Ram s’haguessin d’anular. I les nostres, a l’aire lliure, no en van ser una excepció; així que el dissabte no es va poder fer res. Però el diumenge es va poder fer una mini demostració de tre-ball amb ramat al matí. I l’agility de forma completa tant el matí, com a la tarda, just abans que es posés a ploure de nou.

De totes maneres, la difusió del Gos d’Atura Català es va fer. Sobretot en l’agi-lity, malgrat tenir algunes baixes de participació per la incertesa del temps, 4 gossos van poder fer l’exhibició davant d’un nombrós públic. I com ja portem fent darrerament, al final de l’exhibi-ció es va convidar als nens i nenes del públic a participar-hi formant part del circuit. Una forma que considerem ideal per fer una activitat par-ticipativa i dinàmica. Alhora que fa que el públic s’ho passi d’allò més bé… I el més important, es demostra el temperament ideal per nens que tenen els nostres gossos d’atura català.

D’altra banda el 9TV, la televisió d’Osona i vinculada a la Xarxa TV, va fer una petita en-trevista al President del Club del Gos d’Atura Català en el que s’hi va explicar les activitats que s’estaven fent, a més a més del perquè d’aquestes, així com les moltes virtuts que té la nostra raça.

Ja per acabar doncs, la valoració final del cap de setmana de difusió del Gos d’Atura Català al Mercat del Ram de Vic, tot i que minoritzat i deslluït per la pluja i les baixes en la participació que això comportà, s’hi féu una bona tasca.

Moltes gràcies a tots els que ho vau fer possi-ble! Fins l’any que ve, si pot ser!

Members of our Club had the advan-tage of being able to get into the premises for free on showing their membership card.

There were 8 ac-tivities programmed: 4 working dog demon-strations and 4 agility displays one after the other on the Saturday and the Sunday at 11 am and 4 pm on both days. Unfortunately, the rain

meant that many of the activities that had been planned for the Mercat del Ram had to be cancelled and ours, which were to take place in the open air, were no exception. On the Saturday we were not able to do any-thing, but on the Sunday morning we were at least able to do a mini-demonstration of working with sheep herds, and we were able to do all the agility displays we had planned both in the morning and the afternoon just before the rain set in again.

And so, after all, we were able to promote our breed, especially in terms of agility, despite the fact that not all the participants could at-tend owing to the bad weather. Four dogs in to-tal took part in the display in front of a sizeable public. And, as has lately become the custom at events like this, at the end of the display chil-dren from the public were invited to come up and form part of the agility circuit, a great way to make the activity participative and dynamic, and to ensure that the public have a great time. And last but certainly not least, this is where we are able to show how ideal the Catalan Sheep-dog’s temperament is for children.

9TV, the Osona TV station linked to Xarxa TV, also broadcast a short interview with the Presi-dent of the Catalan Sheepdog Club in which he explained not only the activities that were going on but also the virtues of the breed.

The final appraisal of the weekend promoting the Catalan Sheepdog at the Mercat del Ram in Vic, then, was positive despite the rain keeping some people away and preventing them from taking part.

A big thank you to everybody that made this weekend possible and we hope we will see you again next year!

El passat diumenge 17 de desembre és cele-brar la 25a edició de la Marató de TV3 dedicada a les malalties infeccioses.

Per segon any consecutiu el Club del Gos d’Atura Català hi va participar i ho va fer un cop més a la localitat de Vacarisses (Vallès Occidental).

El dia es va desenvolupar amb una mica de fred, però amb unes ganes immenses pels diferents propietaris de Gos d’Atura Català poder col-laborar i aportar el seu petit granet de sorra per aquesta causa que mou a tanta gent.

El Club del Gos d’Atura Ca-talà hi va participar fent una exhibició d’agility, on van sal-tar 5 gossos:“Cendra” Déja-Vu de Bella-goscaSínia des Lluçanès“Dalí” Pla des LluçanèsGueta des Lluçanès“Greta” Zloty des Lluçanès.

En aquest cas, vàrem muntar un “KO“. El “KO“, són dues pistes en paraŀlel, on es tracta d’anar més ràpid que l’altre fent tots els obstacles i no tirant-ne cap d’ells.

Després de diverses mànegues, vàrem de-manar la coŀlaboració del públic assistent, més concretament dels nens i nenes que hi havia.

Vàrem fer que els mateixos nens i nenes formessin part dels obstacles, on animaven als gossos a saltar.

També vàrem fer participar als pares al cos-tat dels nens i nenes.

Amb el nostre ajut, els hi vam fer saltar els diferents salts d’Agility, on ara sí que s’ho van acabar de passar d’allò més bé.

Per part del Club del Gos d’Atura Català va ser un dia realment rodó.

I volem donar les gràcies a la gent per la seva coŀlaboració, així com a tots i totes les perso-nes que vàrem fer possible la nostra participa-ció dins i fora del club.

On Sunday 17 December, the 25th edition of TV3’s Marathon took place, this year dedicated to infectious diseases.

For the second year running, the Catalan Sheepdog Club took part in the event, which was held in Vacarisses (Vallès Occidental).

The day was rather chilly, but the huge enthusiasm of the Catalan Sheepdog own-ers meant that we were able to do our bit for this event, which is supported by so many people.

The Catalan Sheepdog Club’s contribution was an agility display with five Cat-alan Sheepdogs:

“KO”, which is two parallel ob-stacle courses, the idea of

which is to go as fast as possible, tackling all the obstacles without knocking any of them down.

After doing several rounds, we asked the children in the audience to come and give us a hand.

We got them to actually form part of the ob-stacles and then get the dogs to jump them.

With our help they got them to jump the dif-ferent agility hurdles, while thoroughly enjoying themselves.

We would like to thank everyone for their collaboration and all the people from inside and outside the Club who made it possible for us to take part in this day.

On 19 November 2017, the I Working Dog Com-petition with the Catalan Sheepdog was held in Parc de la Draga in Banyoles, organised by the Catalan Sheepdog Club.

First place went to the shepherd from Alacant in Valencia, Jesús Beneyto, with his two dogs, Murla of Lluçanès and Nesca.

Murla of Lluçanès is a veteran in competi-tions, having competed at Ares del Maestrat, Agres and the Fira de Morella.

Her best results were at the Catalan Sheep-dog Trials held in Campllong, where she has come first twice, and in Banyoles last year.

Her owner Jesús assures us, however, that she is at her happiest when she is doing her days’ work.

Nesca, daughter of Murtra and Pancho, had just turned three years old (January 2018) and this was just the second competition she has taken part in. “The first time was in Campllong but she wasn’t used to being closed in or there being so many people, and she didn’t work very well,” Jesús explained.

Second place in the I Working Dog Competition with Catalan Sheepdogs went to Juli Bayot, a shepherd from Valencia, with his dog Pancho, the father of Jesús’s Nesca.

El passat 19 de novembre de 2017 es celebrà el I Concurs de Treball amb Gos d’Atura Català, al Parc de la Draga de Banyoles, organitzat pel Club de Gos d’Atura Català.

El primer classificat fou un pastor vingut del País Valencià, d’Alacant, en Jesús Beneyto, amb dues gosses, la Murla des Lluçanès i la Nesca.

La Murla des Lluçanès és una veterana dels concursos, com el d’Ares del Maestat, el d’Agres o el de la Fira de Morella.

Els millors resultats que ha tingut han estat en els monogràfics de GAC celebrats a Cam-pllong, quedant primera classificada en dues ocasions, i en aquesta ocasió del passat no-vembre a Banyoles.

Jesús, però, assegura que ‘és durant el tre-ball quotidià on més content estic d’ella’.

La Nesca filla de la Murtra i del Pancho, aca-ba de complir els tres anys (gener de 2018) i el de Banyoles va ser el segon concurs que feia. ‘El primer va ser a Campllong, que al vore’s tan-cada i amb tanta gent i no estar acostumada, no va treballar gaire’, ens explica en Jesús.

Pancho is ten years old. “He showed an in-terest in sheep right from when he was very little and I would say he was easy to teach. Even though he’s a great dog when it comes to working at home, in competitions he is rebel-lious. But anyway, he has competed in com-petitions like the ones in Castellar de N’Hug, Ribes de Freser, Bellver de Cardanya and Ares del Maestrat, apart from Campllong where he’s been competing for years, and lately the one in Banyoles in 2017,” says Juli, who adds that “he’s also taken part in lots of working dog dis-plays. He’s just as energetic as he always was at ten years old.”

There was a joint third place between Eduard Solà from Cases d’Alcanar in Montsià with his dog Lia, and Àngel Casellas from Lluçanès with Sínia.

Lia had a little bit of trouble, which was un-derstandable given that at just two years old she has never taken part in any competitions or displays, and in fact she doesn’t know an-ywhere else apart from the valleys of Montsià where she works.

“Lia is from Vall d’Aran and she started to herd in Montenartró in Pallars at four months old with a herd of Alpine goats. The move from Pallars to Montsià was a bit stressful for her but after a month or so she got used to the ge-ography of a dry landscape,” Eduard tells us.

“For Sínia from Lluçanès this was her first time in public and the second time she has worked outside the home. Even though my dad was a livestock farmer and from when I was little I had sheepdogs to herd the cows we’ve both got a lot to learn about competitions herd-ing flocks of sheep,” Àngel tells us.

En Pancho té 10 anys. ‘Des de molt menut va mostra interès per les ovelles i diria que va ser fàcil d’ensenyar. Tot i que per al treball en casa és un gran gos, per a la competició mostra rebeŀlia. Així i tot ha paticipat en concursos com el de Castellar de N’Hug, Ribes de Freser, Bell-ver de Cerdanya i Ares del Maestrat, a banda del de Campllong, en el qual porte molts anys, i ara este de Banyoles celebrat el 2017’, comenta el mateix Juli, que afegeix que ‘a banda, ha partici-pat en nombroses demostracions de treball. Als seus 10 anys mante tota la seua vigorositat’.

La tercera classificació va ser compartida entre l’Eduard Solà, de Les Cases d’Alcanar, el Mont-sià, amb la seua gossa d’atura Lia, i l’Àngel Ca-sellas, del Lluçanès, amb la Sínia.

Val a dir que la demostració en este cas no va ser gaire lluïda, la qual cosa hom ja preveia per bé que la Lia, de dos anys, a banda de no haver participat mai en cap concurs, ni demos-tració, no coneix cap altre entorn que les valls del Montsià per on treballa.

‘La Lia, filla de la Vall d’Aran, començà a pas-turar als quatre mesos a Montenartró, al Pa-llars, amb un petit ramat de cabres alpines. El canvi del Pallars al Montsià, vulgues o no, li va resultar un xic estressant, cosa d’un mes, però aviat es va aclimatar i s’amotllà a la geografia de secà’, ens comenta l’Eduard.

‘Per la Sínia des Lluçanès era la primera pro-va en públic i la segona volta que treballava fora de casa, tot i que el meu pare era ramader i des de ben petit tenia gossos d’atura per manar ra-mats de vaques. Ens queda molt per aprendre del món dels concursos de ramat amb ovelles, tant a ella com a mi’, ens comenta l’Àngel.

Em van dir que no podria fer Agility amb un Gos d’Atura.–Els Gossos d’Atura són tossuts, desobedients, massa independents… no fan cas.Però a cada competició, a la línia de sortida, da-vant el primer salt, on només som ella i jo, la seva mirada no diu això.L’Enxaneta em diu, em crida.–Tu marca’m bé. Jo ho faré!I ella ho fa… ho fa una pista i una altra, amb total seguretat.

Diuen que a l’Agility els gos-sos no s’equivoquen mai, fa-llen els guies. En el nostre cas puc afirmar que és cert.

L’Enxaneta no és la més rà-pida, fins i tot és petita per la raça i ha de fer un esforç extra per superar els salts i la resta d’obstacles a un esport domi-nat i amb un reglament fet a mida per Border Collies i Pas-tors Belgues Malinois, més grans, més forts… més ràpids.

Però l’Enxaneta és tot cor. M’esforço per estar a la seva alçada.

Entrenem fort, treballem nous moviments i tècniques per fer front a recorreguts que els jutges fan cada cop més difícils.

1ª prova de la temporada… ens eliminem…

2ª prova, la guanyem. 3ª prova, segons, i ens posem primers a la classifi-cació. Ja no abandonarem aquesta posició fins el final de temporada.

12 podis en 16 proves, només 3 eliminats en 32 mànegues, 1ers matemàticament a manca de tres proves. Els números ho diuen tot.

I was told I couldn’t do agility with a Catalan Sheepdog.

“Catalan Sheepdogs are stubborn, disobedient, too independent… they don’t take any notice of you.”

But on the start line of every competition before the first jump, when its just her and me, that’s not what her eyes are saying.

She is saying to me,” You indicate what I have to do and I’ll do it!”

And she does it…she does one round after the other, completely sure of herself.

They say that in agility the dogs never get it wrong, it’s the guides who get it wrong. In our case, I can tell you that this is absolutely true.

Enxaneta isn’t the fastest dog; actually, she’s small for the breed and she has to make that extra effort to get over the jumps and tackle the rest of the obstacles in a sport dominated by, and with regulations suited to, Border Collies and Malinois dogs: bigger, stronger… faster.

But Enxaneta is all heart. I have my work cut out to be good enough for her.

We train heard, we work on new moves and techniques to cope with the obstacle cours-es that the judges make more and more difficult.

In the 1st round of the sea-son… we get disqualified…

The 2nd round we win. In the 3rd round we come second and we go into first place. And we stay there until the end of the season.

Twelve times on the rostrum in sixteen rounds, only three disqualifications in thirty-two rounds and first place on the points table with three competitions to go. The numbers speak for them-selves.

El passat dia 17 de novembre, en el sí de l’orga-nització de la XXXVIII exposició monogràfica es va celebrar una jornada tècnica sobre la morfo-logia del gos d’atura català.

Destaquem entre els assistents, la presència de diversos jutges amants de la raça, i de so-cis de diverses procedències i experiències que van aportar diversitat als temes del coŀloqui.

N’Agustí Tonietti, jutge de l’monogràfica, i ponent de la jornada va proposar la visualitza-ció del vídeo realitzat el 2013 sobre l’estàndard de la raça.

Després del passi del vídeo, es va començar la xerrada destacant la conservació de les ca-racterístiques del nostre gos al llarg del temps, i com, els recuperadors de la raça que van realit-zar la seva tasca des de finals de la dècada dels seixanta del passat segle, van treballar amb els seus exemplars buscant l’estàndard de 1929, fixat amb les característiques de Tac i Iris, gua-nyadors de l’exposició canina internacional de Barcelona d’aquest any.

L’avantatge de la nostra raça és la diversitat genètica ja que la recuperació realitzada es va fer amb molts exemplars, no amb dues o tres parelles com altres races, perquè no es va per-dre mai, encara que els exemplars estiguessin al camp. No és que la raça es fes amb Tac i Iris, i els gossos d’avui siguin els seus descendents, van ser mers models per descriure les caracte-rístiques que la defineixen.

On 17th December last, at the heart of the 28th Breed Show weekend, a technical conference about the conformation of the Catalan Sheepdog took place.

Among the attendees were several judges and lov-ers of the breed, in addition to members from different places and with different experiences, who brought diversity to the subjects raised during the talk.

Agusti Tonietti, the judge of this year’s breed show, proposed that we show the video of the breed stand-ard the club made in 2013.

After we watched the video, the talk started by fo-cusing on how the characteristics of our breed have been preserved over time and how those who recov-ered the breed starting from the end of the 1960s worked with their dogs to breed animals that con-formed to the 1929 standard, embodied by the dog and bitch Tac and Iris, winners of the Barcelona dog show of that year.

One advantage our breed has is genetic diversity, given that many dogs were used to recover the breed and not just two or three COUPLEs, as has happened with other breeds. This was thanks to the fact that the breed was never actually lost but simply reduced in number and spread across the countryside. The recovery of the breed was not done with Tac and Iris; today’s Catalan Sheepdogs are not their descend-ants, they were simply the models used to describe the characteristics that define the breed.

The attendees of the conference participated en-thusiastically and subjects came up that need to ad-dressed in greater depth at a later date, but through-

Els asistentents van participar animadament i es van sorgir temes sobre els quals caldrà se-guir parlant, però en tot moment es va procurar que l’objectiu principal de la trobada, la morfolo-gia, quedés clar també per als menys entesos.

Va sorgir el preguntar-se sobre si el gos d’atura ha evolucionat. Es va estar d’acord que, a diferència d’altres races, no ha passat, el que es considera una virtut. Les característiques de pèl, estructura, aploms, esperons, moviment, tenen un origen funcional. Tot hi és perquè “serveix per a alguna cosa concret”.

Es va aprofundir sobre diverses caracterís-tiques:

Els esperons a més de per moure en el ter-reny en el que tradicionalment ha treballat, va servir als pastors fa segles per saber si una fe-mella havia pogut creuar-se amb un mascle no desitjat, si la ventrada apareixia sense esperons. Els esperons baixos i ossificats fan molta més base i permeten grimpar i girar en un curt espai.

El moviment ha de ser econòmic, amb menys esforç ha d’avançar el més possible, per això és capaç, en grans distàncies d’allargar el pas per abastar més en cada pas sense que s’elevi el seu centre de gravetat.

L’estructura que té el gos és la que possibilita aquest moviment i està molt ben descrita. Angu-lacions, aploms, inserció dels membres al tòrax i al maluc... L’exigència de membres ben aplomats, neix de la necessitat de la transmissió eficaç de l’energia des del suport fins al tronc.

El cap ha de guardar les proporcions 4 a 3 del crani respecte al cap. I el crani i el morro no han de ser paraŀlels, sinó ser plans divergents

Els ulls arrodonits i molt ben remarcats en negre. Evitant els ulls massa rodons i grans i en els quals es veu massa l’escleròtica.

Pel que fa al pèl, es parla de la conveniència o no de tenir molt pèl. El pèl és indubtablement funcional ja que protegeix del fred, però no ha de ser tant llarg que dificulti veure l’estructura del gos, ni la seva expressió.

En conjunt va ser una jornada enriquidora en que a més a més es va parlar de la convenièn-cia de realitzar una tasca permanent de forma-ció i difusió de l’estàndard entre jutges i clubs de raça d’altres països.

The question came up as to whether the Catalan Sheepdog has evolved and everyone agreed that, unlike other breeds, it has not, which is considered a virtue. The characteristics of the fur, the structure, the leg conformation, the dewclaws and the breed’s movement all have a functional origin: all these ele-ments are there “because they are specifically use-ful for something.”

Different subjects were covered in depth during the session:

Centuries ago the dewclaws, apart from help-ing the dogs to move in the terrain they habitually worked in, also served shepherds to know if a bitch had mated with a dog they did not want her to breed with by if the puppies were born without dewclaws. Low, boned dewclaws make the base of each paw larger, allowing the dog to grip better and make sharp turns in small spaces.

The movement is designed to conserve energy; the must move as far forward as possible with as lit-tle effort as possible. This is why the Catalan Sheep-dog is capable of lengthening his stride to cover as much ground as possible each step he takes without raising his centre of gravity.

The structure of the breed facilitates this move-ment and has been very well described: angulations, leg conformation, how the limbs are inserted into the thorax and the hips. Insistence on well conformed limbs arises from the need for efficient energy trans-ference from the support to the trunk.

The head and cranium must be in the proportion of 4:3. The head and muzzle must not be parallel; they must be divergent straight lines.

The eyes must be round and outlined in black. However, they should not be too round or large, oth-erwise they look too sclerotic.

Regarding the coat, we spoke about the suitability of not having too much fur. The fur is undoubtedly functional, in that it protects the dog from the cold, but it should not be too long, obscuring the structure of the dog and hiding its facial expression.

Overall, it was a very rewarding conference where we also spoke about the need for persistent ef-forts to explain and disseminate the breed standard among judges and Catalan Sheepdog Clubs in other countries.

2. Posseir afix propi reconegut per la FCI i haver fet almenys una notificació de cadellada en els darrers 3 anys.

Haver exposat exemplars de propietat en almenys 3 de les darreres 5 Exposicions Monogràfiques, amb la obtenció de màximes qualificacions en les respectives categories (Ex-ceŀlent pels gossos de més de 9 mesos. Molt prometedor, pels menors de 9 mesos), i que hi hagin participat almenys dos gossos del propi afix (siguin, o no, de propietat obtenint almenys 2 màximes qualificacions durant aquest període).

4. (*) Control de displàsia. De tots els exemplars reproductors caldrà presentar-ne puntualment el Certificat de displàsia de maluc de la RSCE o d’alguna de les organitzacions que la mateixa RSCE reconeix (http://www.rsce.es/web/images/rsce/Normativa_displasia.pdf) al Club del Gos d’Atura Català, via e-mail, a [email protected],

- Selecció genètica:

per la cria

2 requisits: 1.1. És fill de dos gossos de grau A o B. 1.2. S’encreua preferiblement amb un gos de grau A, i mai

amb un altra C.

5. Es recomana publicar almenys un exemplar propi a la galeria del web del Club.

6. Es recomana emprar el Certificat de Lliurament del Club amb la seva respectiva recomanació bibliogràfica sobre el ma-neig i educació del cadell en tots els cadells lliurats i envi-ar-ne puntualment còpia al Club. (Aquest Certificat només el poden utilitzar els criadors que formen part del llistat. Si algun altre criador l’empra sense permís del Club, es consi-derarà usurpació.)

7. La Junta Directiva del Club del Gos d’Atura Català podrà no admetre o excloure, temporalment o indefinidament del llis-tat de criadors, a aquella persona o persones que la JDC-GAC consideri que realitza mala praxi i/o comportaments relacionats amb la cria inadequats o perjudicials. (això inclou actituds irrespectuoses i/o perjudicials cap a altres criadors, cap el Club, o cap al propi Gos d’Atura Català).

(*) Mesura obligatòria per tots els gossos nascuts a partir del gener 2017 (inclòs).

(**) Per tant un gos de grau C només podrà perpetuar els seus gens si es donen aquestes 3 condicions:

1. Els progenitors són A o B // 2. S’encreua amb un gos A o B // 3. Els descendents directes són A o B

Observacions:S’informa a tots els criadors que en alguns territoris i països, com és el cas de Catalunya, és obligatori tenir Número de Nucli Zoològic per criar. Cal que els criadors s’informin de la llei de la seva zona, doncs és responsabilitat de cada criador complir la llei del seu territori. El Club del Gos d’Atura Català en queda ex-clòs de qualsevol responsabilitat de l’incompliment d’aquesta o altres normatives per part del criador. En aquelles que sigui obligatori, es recomana que el criador enviï el Certificat de Nucli Zoològic al Club del Gos d’Atura Català. El número de Nucli Zo-ològic serà publicat juntament amb les altres dades del criador.

1. A minimum of 2 years as a member of the Club.

2. To have a kennel affix that is recognised by the FCI and to have registered at least one litter in the last three years.

3. To have shown dogs that belong to them in at least three of the last five Breed Shows, obtaining the maximum classi-fication in their respective categories (“Excellent” for dogs over nine months old and “Very promising” for puppies under nine months old); and at least two dogs with their own ken-nel affix should also have participated (whether or not they belong to them and at least two of them must have obtained the highest score during this period).

4. [*] Dysplasia control. Hip dysplasia certificates issued by the RSCE or any of the organisations recognised by the RSCE (http://www.rsce.es/web/images/rsce/Normativa_displasia.pdf) must be presented to the Club del Gos d’Atura Català via e-mail at the address [email protected], for every breeding dog and bitch:

provided they comply with the following requisites: 1.1. They are the offspring of a dog and bitch with hip scores

of A or B. 1.2. They are bred with a dog/bitch with a hip score of A, and

never with a dog/bitch with a hip score of C.

5. It is recommended that at least one dog owned by the breed-er is featured in the gallery.

6. Use of the Club Puppy Delivery Certificate with its respective bibliographic recommendations about handling and training puppies is recommended for every puppy delivered to its new owners, a copy of which should be sent to the Club. (This certificate can only be used by breeders who feature on the Club’s list of breeders. If any other breeder uses these documents without the Club’s permission, this is considered as misappropriation).

7. The Management Team of the Catalan Sheepdog Club re-serves the right to not admit or exclude from the list, either permanently or temporarily, any person or persons that the JDC-GAC considers has engaged in malpractice and/or be-haviour related to inadequate or harmful breeding practices (including displaying a disrespectful attitude and/or damag-ing behaviour towards other breeders or towards the Cata-lan Sheepdog itself).

[*] Obligatory measure for all dogs born from January 2017 (in-cluded).

[**] Hence, a dog with a grade C hip score can only perpetuate their genes under the following three conditions:

1. The progenitors have grade A or B hip scores// 2. They are mated with a dog/bitch with a grade A or B hip score// 3. The direct descendants have hip scores of A or B.

Observations:All breeders are informed that in some territories/countries it is mandatory to have a Licensed Animal Breeding Premises Number. Breeders must be aware of how the law stands where they live and it is their responsibility to comply with these laws. The Catalan Sheepdog Club is not responsible for the breeder failing to comply with this law or with any other regulations. If this Number is required in the breeder’s territory/country, it is recommended they send a copy of the Licensed Animal Breed-ing Premises Number to the Catalan Sheepdog Club.

Comissió del Campionat del Club

La Junta Directiva del Club del Gos d’Atura Català, designara una Comissió de “Campionat del Club” que estarà formada, com a mínim, pel President, el Secretari i un Vocal de la Junta Direc-tiva del Club.La seva funció consistirà en vetllar pel compliment de la nor-mativa del present reglament i resoldre els casos de dubtes que poguessin plantejar-se, per no estar contemplats o espe-cialment ressenyats en el present reglament.

Registre de resultats

La Junta Directiva del Club registrarà els resultats.Els resultats dels sis primers classificats s’exposaran a la web del Club actualitzant-se regularment.Aquest registre es procurarà que sigui exhaustiu, no obstant, els socis poden enviar resultats dels seus exemplars que no hagin sigut recollits.

Títols

Es concediran de forma anual i sempre a l’Exposició Monogrà-fica del Club, els següents títols: - Campió/na del Club del Gos d’Atura Català (mascle i feme-

lla), per aquells exemplars que, amb més de 15 mesos que hagin participat en classe Intermèdia, Oberta, Campions o Veterans que hagin obtingut la màxima puntuació i complei-xin el present reglament.

- Jove Promesa del Club del Gos d’Atura Català (mascle i femella), per aquells exemplars que entre els 4 i 24 mesos que hagin obtingut la màxima puntuació participant en clas-se Molt Cadells, Cadells, Joves o Intermèdia i compleixin el present reglament.

Les puntuacions obtingudes pels exemplars només podran computar-se per un dels dos títols (“Campió del Club” o “Jove Promesa del Club”) i mai per ambdos.Per a la inscripció dels exemplars a cada classe, serà d’aplicació les normes recollides al Reglament de Certàmens de Morfolo-gia Canina de la Real Sociedad Canina de España.

Condicions per a la obtenció dels Títols

El Club del Gos d’Atura Català atorgarà aquests títols anual-ment, a aquells exemplars que obtinguin la major puntuació al llarg del campionat.No es considerarà Campió del Club de Gos d’Atura Català o Jove Promesa del Club Gos d’Atura Català a cap exemplar fins que la comissió del Campionat del Club homologui aquests títols i es faci entrega d’ells a l’Exposició Monogràfica corresponent.Els títols i els trofeus corresponents s’entregaran als guanya-dors a la següent Exposició Monogràfica del Club en què serà obligatòria la participació dels exemplars premiats, menys per causa de força major degudament justificada.

Les proves valedores per el Campionat seran:

d’Atura Català, excepte aquells que expressament es deci-deixi com a no valedors pel campoonat.

Societats Canines coŀlaboradores de la RSCE, que la Comis-sió del Campionat del Club proposi i siguin aprovades per la Junta Directiva del Club del Gos d’Atura Català.

Club Championship Commission

The Management Team of the Catalan Sheepdog Club will des-ignate a “Club Championship Commission”, which will be made up of at least a President, a Secretary and a Spokesperson of the Management Team of the Club.Its function will be to ensure that the rules of the current reg-ulations are complied with and to resolve any issues that may arise that are not dealt with or specifically mentioned in the current regulations..

Register of Results

The Management Team of the Club will register the results.The results of the first six Club Champions will be displayed on the Club website and will be regularly updated.We aim to make this register exhaustive; however, members can send in the results of their dogs that have not been included.

Titles

The following titles will be awarded annually and always at the Breed Show: - Club Champion of the Catalan Sheepdog Club (male and

female), for dogs over 15 months old that have participated in the Intermediate, Open, Champion or Veteran classes and have obtained the highest score, in addition to complying with these regulations.

- Promising Young Dog (male and female) for dogs between 4 and 24 months old who have obtained the highest score in the Very Young Puppy, Puppy, Young Dog and Intermediate classes, in addition to complying with these regulations.

The scores obtained by the dogs can only count towards one of the two titles (“Club Champion” or “Promising Young Dog”) and under no circumstances for both titles.The rules in the Regulations for Dog Conformation Competi-tions of the Spanish Royal Dog Society will apply when regis-tering dogs in each class.

Conditions to obtain the Titles

The Catalan Sheepdog Club will award these titles annually to the dogs with the highest scores at the end of the champion-ship.No dog is considered to be a Catalan Sheepdog Club “Club Champion” or a Catalan Sheepdog Club “Promising Young Dog” until the Club Championship commission has recognised these titles and awarded them at the corresponding Breed Show.The corresponding titles and trophies will be handed to the win-ners at the following Club Breed Show, participation in which is mandatory for the winning dogs, unless a serious, justified cause prevents this.

The results of the following dog shows will count towards the Club Championship:

-dog Club, except for those expressly designated as not counting towards the Championship.

Dog Societies that collaborate with the RSCE that have been proposed and approved by the Management Team of the Catalan Sheepdog Club.

For organizational reasons, these shows and competitions will generally be held between 1 November of the year of the Breed Show and 31st October of the following year.

Les proves puntuables en general, estaràn compreses entre l’1 de novembre de l’any de la monogràfica fins el 31 d’octubre de l’any següent, per raons organitzatives.

Tindran dret a participar en la obtenció dels títols els exemplars que compleixin els següents requisits:

1. Ser un gos / a de la raça Gos d’Atura Català inscrit al LOE o RRC o en un altre Llibre d’Orígens reconegut per la RSCE i la FCI.2. El propietari / a de l’exemplar participant haurà de ser soci del Club i estar al corrent de pagament de la quota anual, amb una antiguitat mínima d’un any.3. Pel campionat d’adults serà requisit indispensable haver ob-tingut un Exceŀlent en la Monogràfica del Club; per al de joves un Exceŀlent en classe Jove o Intermèdia o un Molt Bo en clas-se cadells o Molt Cadells.4. Haver presentat al Club el diagnòstic de displàsia de l’exem-plar, complint la normativa vigent a tal efecte.5. Per guanyar el campionat o ser mencionat a la classificació definitiva serà imprescindible haver obtingut més de 100 punts en el Campionat adult o 75 en el Campionat jove i haver partici-pat en un mínim de 4 proves.

El sistema de puntuació està format per tres barems:

1. en relació a la qualificació obtinguda per l’exemplar 2. pel número d’exemplars batuts en ring a la mateixa clas-

se amb qualificació inferior, més el número d’exemplars ba-tuts a les classes Oberta, Treball, Intermèdia i Campions si l’exemplar concursa en aquestes classe.

En el cas de que el jove o el veterà fossin millor de raça o sexe oposat se li sumaran el número d’exemplars batuts de totes les classes excepte cadells i molt cadells.

3. un coeficient atorgat a la prova celebrada.

Per obtenir la puntuació total s’ha de multiplicar el tercer barem per la suma dels dos anteriors.

Els mascles i femelles competeixen per separat

Dogs that meet the following requirements have the right to be awarded these titles:

1. They must be a dog/bitch of the breed Catalan Sheepdog registered in the LOE or the RRC or in another Book of Origins recognised by the RSCE and the FCI.2. The owner of the dog participating in the Championship must have been a member of the Club for at least a year and their annual membership fee must be paid up to date.3. For the adult dog championship, the dog must have obtained an “Excellent” classification in the Club Breed Show; and for the Promising Young Dog Championship they must have ob-tained an Excellent classification in the Young Dog or Interme-diate classes or a Very Good in the Puppy or Very Young Puppy classes.4. The dysplasia results of the dog must have been presented the Club as per the regulations in force.5. A score of at least 100 points for the adult Club Champion-ship and a score of at least 75 points for the Promising Young Dog Championship must be obtained to win the championship or to feature on the list of winners, and the dog must have com-peted in at least 4 shows/competitions.

The scoring system is made up of three scales:

1. in relation to the mark obtained by the dog 2. in relation to the number of dogs beaten in the ring in the

same class with a lower classification, plus the number of dogs beaten in the Open, Working, Intermediate and Cham-pions classes if the dog competes in these classes.

Should the young dog or veteran be best of breed or best of the opposite sex, the number of dogs beaten in all the class-es except for Puppy and Very Young Puppy will be added to their score.

3. a coefficient designated to the show/competition held

The third scale must be multiplied by the sum of the first two scales to obtain the final score.

Homologació dels Títols

Per a la homologació dels títols, el propietari de l’exemplar haurà:

1. Soŀlicitar per escrit la participació al campionat a la Comis-sió al menys 60 dies abans de la Monogràfica del Club en la que s’ha de fer entrega del títol.

2. Remetre a la Comissió de Campionat una relació dels punts obtinguts en què hi consti, com a mínim, l’exposició o concurs, data de celebració, Jutge, qualificació i altres mèrits obtinguts. Fotocòpia del Certificat de Displàsia de l’exemplar, fotocòpia del pedigrí, LOE o RRC o qualsevol al-tre admès per la FCI on s’indiqui la propietat de l’exemplar al menys 30 dies abans de la següent monogràfica del club en la que s’ha de fer entrega del títol.

Incompliment

L’incompliment de qualsevol dels apartats anteriors donarà com a resultat la pèrdua expressa del dret al títol.

Les falsedats o errors d’inscripció d’un exemplar que poguessin donar lloc a errors en les qualificacions i / o puntuacions o que afavoreixin d’alguna manera a l’exemplar, seran sancionades de forma severa per la Comissió del Campionat, sens perjudici d’altres sancions per part de la RSCE, FCI o societats canines delegades.

Recognition of Titles

For titles to be recognised, the owner of the dog must:

1. Make a written application to the Commission to partici-pate in the championship at least 60 days before the Breed Show at which the title will be awarded.

2. Deliver to the Championship Commission a list of the points obtained with at least the following information: the show or competition, the date it was held, the judge, the dog’s classification and other merits obtained; plus a pho-tocopy of the dog’s dysplasia certificate, a photograph of their pedigree, LOE or RRC or any other accepted by the FCI, which states that they have been the owner of the dog since at least 30 days before the following breed show at which the title will be awarded.

Non-compliance

Non-compliance with any of the previous sections, which could give rise to any errors in the classifications and/or scores or could give the dog any kind of advantage, will be severely sanc-tioned by the Championship Commission, without prejudice to other sanctions that could be imposed by the RSCE, the FCI or other delegated dog societies.

What is more, accepting insects in foodstuffs —on the part of both people and pet owners— is still quite difficult, so insect proteins cannot really be classified as a trend yet.Vegan formulas are still not mainstream either. Most cat and dog owners are well aware of their animals’ need for animal protein. We do not be-lieve that a vegan diet is appropriate, especially for cats, so we do not think that vegan dog and cat food will become popular.In general, dog owners nowadays are more aware of the need to give their pets healthy ingredients which, apart from their nutritious value, are also beneficial to health. Pet food like the ones we manufacture, which are formulated by following an integral principle, is more trusted by pet own-ers than another type called “spatial food”, which is created from individual, very processes com-ponents. Ingredients with an added nutritional and physiological value clearly respond to the trend towards natural pet food which, as we see it, is going to become more popular.

At the Interzoo fair this year in Nuremburg, you presented a new dry pet food called “MAS-TERCRAFT”. What is special about this line and how long has it taken to develop it?MASTERCRAFT products are by far the best quality products we offer. This is why we also call them our “masterpiece”: the composition is 80% fresh meat and 20% holistic ingredients or superfoods, each of them of an uncompro-mised quality. So, in our formulas there are no flours made of meat, cereals or potatoes. An additional feature is that the five categories of pet food have the same nutritional profile so the different varieties can be interchanged or combined as the owner wishes without any negative effects.

Les fórmules veganas també són actualment marginals. La majoria de propietaris de gossos o gats són molt conscients de la necessitat que aquests tenen de proteïna animal. Nosal-tres pensem que una alimentació vegana no és apropiada, especialment per als gats. Per això no creiem que l’alimentació vegana de gossos i gats es converteixi en una tendència.En general, els propietaris de gossos són ara més conscients de la necessitat d’oferir a les seves mascotes ingredients saludables que, a part del mer valor nutritiu, tinguin també una utilitat beneficiosa per a la seva salut. Una ali-mentació com aquesta, formulada seguint un principi integral, gaudeix de major confiança entre els amos d’animals que una altra tipus «aliment espacial», és a dir, creada a partir de components individuals molt processats. Els ingredients amb un valor nutritiu i fisiològic afegit responen clarament a la tendència cap al natural i, en la nostra opinió, van a seguir co-brant rellevància.

En la fira Interzoo d’aquest any en Núremberg, van presentar el seu nou aliment sec per a gossos «MASTERCRAFT». Quina és la carac-terística més especial d’aquesta línia i quant temps han trigat a desenvolupar-la?

The first trials of this product were in 2013 and it has taken us much longer to develop than we originally planned. We had wanted to launch it into the market at the beginning of 2016, but we soon realized that the quality of meat var-ied a lot. So what we did was introduce a rather laborious prior step, which was to prepare the meat. This is the only way to guarantee a trust-worthy, consistent quality in products with a high meat content.For the MASTERCRAFT product line not only do we work hard to achieve the highest possible proportion of fresh meat in this dry pet food: our products aim to offer much more than that. In the search for the best possible pet food rec-ipe we have experimented with a whole series of ingredients apart from meat itself.We also cater for customers who do not want to give their dogs the same food every day. With the dry ingredients we have not only managed to enable owners to give them to their pets in-terchangeably however they want, but we have also adapted the concept of toppings —a widely accepted practice in the USA— to our markets. With MASTERCRAFT Toppings, which come in a practical bag for fresh food, the owner can combine the taste of the topping with the dry food to give their dog a different dish every day.

Els productes MASTERCRAFT són, amb dife-rència, els de major qualitat que oferim. Per això els cridem també la nostra «obra mestra»: es tracta del primer aliment amb un 80 % de carn fresca i un 20 % d’ingredients holísticos o su-peralimentos, cadascun d’ells amb una qualitat en la qual no fem concessions. Així, en les nos-tres fórmules renunciem per complet a les fa-rines de carn, cereals o patates. Com a particu-laritat addicional, les cinc categories mostren un perfil nutricional uniforme. D’aquesta forma, les varietats es poden canviar o combinar com es vulgui sense por a efectes negatius.Els primers assajos els vam fer al setembre de 2013. El desenvolupament ha durat molt més del que havíem previst. Al principi volíem llançar els productes al començament de 2016, però aviat ens vam adonar que les qualitats de la carn fluctuen molt. Per això vam haver d’inte-grar un pas previ bastant laboriós de preparació de la carn. Solament d’aquesta forma és possi-ble garantir una qualitat fiable i constant, fins i tot en els productes amb un contingut molt alt de carn.En la línia MASTERCRAFT no solament lluitem per aconseguir la proporció més alta possible de carn fresca en els aliments secs: els nostres productes pretenen oferir molt més que això. Buscant la millor recepta possible, hem provat una àmplia sèrie d’ingredients a més de la carn en si.També responem a aquells clients que no volen donar-li de menjar al seu gos tots els dies el ma-teix. Amb els aliments secs no solament hem aconseguit que puguin intercanviar-se entre ells com es desitgi, sinó que a més hem adaptat als nostres mercats el concepte –molt estès en EE. UU.– dels aderezos. Amb els MASTERCRA-FT Toppings, presentats en una pràctica borsa per a menjar fresc, l’amo pot combinar al seu gust un menú diferent cada dia per al seu gos.
