- Estrategia de Maslow Necesidades fisiológicas, seguridad y protección, necesidad de amor y pertenencia, necesidad de aprecio y auto-actualización.

- Estrategia del proceso de Enfermería Estimado, análisis, planificación, intervención y evaluación.

- Estrategia de seguridad Necesidades básicas: oxigeno, comida, fluido. Peligros: accidentes, obstáculos en el hogar.

Disminuir transmisión de patógenos: vacunación, limpieza.

- Que necesidades requieren atención inmediata y quien puede esperar. - Las necesidades que son una amenaza a la vida del cliente o que puedan resultar en un daño son necesidades de ALTA PRIORIDAD.

Directrices Avanzadas

- “living will” (testamento vital): el cliente establece sus deseos relacionado al cuidado de su salud en caso llegue el momento en que no pueda tomar decisiones.

- “durable power of attorney for Healthcare decisions” (poder notarial para decisiones de atención médica): una persona escogida por el cliente toma las decisiones en caso él no pueda. (Healthcare surrogate).

DNR – “do not resuscitate” (No resucitar): no utilizar medidas heroicas

Restricciones:

Los dispositivos de restricción física requieren una orden médica firmada y fechada. Adicional, debe incluir información específica que indique el tipo de dispositivo y el límite de tiempo.

Determinar si el personal tiene el equipo y la supervisión necesaria para la tarea. - Persona correcta: ¿Estas delegando la tarea correcta a la persona correcta? - Instrucciones / comunicación correcta: comunicar claramente las expectativas de la tarea, los pasos específicos, cuando reportar y la documentación requerida. - Supervisión / evaluación correcta: monitoreo, intervención, evaluación y retroalimentación apropiada.
