• PLASMAS FRIOS: suelen ser generados con descargas eléctricasa baja presión (ej. lámparas fluorescentes).

• Grado de ionización muy bajo (Ne/Ngas 10‐3 – 10‐6)

• Los electrones se aceleran eficazmente en el campo eléctrico( Te alta) pero, al ser muy ligeros, ceden poca energía porchoques elásticos a las partículas más pesadas ( Tgas baja).
