TheGeneralSecretariatoftheOrganizationofAmericanStates

GS/OAS is the central and permanent organ of the Organization of American States (OAS).

Through its Department of Human Development, Education and Culture (DHDEC), GS/OAS

1. APPLICANTSPROFESSIONALPROFILE:Thisprogram isdesigned for individuals ingovernment,corporate,health,andservicesectors

whoworkwithadultsinapplicationsorientedsettings.Throughthis36credithourcurriculum,

participants will become acquainted with the design and use of training theories and

methodologiesinorderto improveserviceproduction,productquality,andstaffdevelopment

processes. Studentswillacquire skills thatallow them to conductneedsassessment,analyze

data,plananddesigneffectivetrainingprograms,instruct,andevaluateoutcomes.

II.ABOUTTHESCHOLARSHIP1.BENEFITS:

The Midwestern State University will reduce the tuition to approximately $14,000 for the

requiredfoursemestersoftheprogram.TheOASwillcoverpartialtuitioncostintheamountof

US$6000ofuptothree(3)scholarshiprecipients.

ThescholarshiprecipientwillberesponsibleforallremainingcostsassociatedwiththeProgram

including:

Remainingtuitionfeesofapproximately(US$8,000.00);

Booksandstudymaterialsapproximately(US$1,000.00).

2.ELIGIBILITYREQUIREMENTS:

AllApplicantsmust:

BecitizensorpermanentresidentsofanOASmembercountry,excepttheUnitedStates1.

HoldatleastaBachelorsDegreefromaregionallyaccreditedcollegeoruniversity

Haveworkexperienceinrelatedfield

ScoresfromtheGraduateRecordExam(GRE)orMillerAnalogiesTest(MAT).Ifastudenthasa

3.0GPA in the last60credithoursofundergraduateworkANDascoreofat least46on the

MAT,theGREisnotrequired.

Possessbasiccomputerandinternetskills

Have good command of English, with documentary evidence, if not the native language.

Applicants for whom English is not the first or native language should submit one of the

followingtoverifyEnglishproficiency:

AnofficialtranscriptverifyingcompletionofstudiesinanEnglishspeakinguniversityinthelastfiveyears;

A testofEnglishasaForeign Language (TOEFL)withascoreof550orhigher for thepaperbasedtest,215forcomputerbasedtestor90forinternetbasedtest;IELTS5.5,

ortheequivalent.

3.SCHOLARSHIPAPPLICATIONRESTRICTIONS:

Citizensorpermanent residentsof the country of study, in this case theUnited States, cannot

applyforthisscholarshipopportunity;

Pleasenotethatyouarenoteligibletoapplyforthisscholarship ifyoucurrentlyholdanOAS

ScholarshipforAcademicStudies;

StaffmembersoftheGeneralSecretariat,personsunderperformancecontractswiththeGeneral

Secretariat, staffmembers of the permanentmissions to the OAS, and their relatives are not

eligibleforOASacademicscholarships.

5.SCHOLARSHIPSELECTIONCRITERIA:

Scholarshipsshallbegrantedbasedonthefollowingcriteria: Themeritsandoverallcredentialsofthecandidate,includinghis/heracademicand

professionalbackground,and

Anextensiveandequitablegeographicdistributionforthebenefitofallmemberstatesthattakesintoaccountthegreaterneedsofthesmallerandrelativelylessdeveloped

economies.

6.RESPONSIBILITIESOFSCHOLARSHIPSRECIPIENTS:

AllScholarshipRecipientsmust:

FulfillallrequirementsoftheprogramforwhichtheOASMWSUscholarshipisawarded ConfirmtheiracceptanceofthescholarshipawardbysigningandreturningtoOAS

DHDECtheircompletedform:AcceptanceoftheScholarshipAward.
